Shiio Shrine
The area at the back of the Suntory Yamazaki Distillery used to be called Mercy Otani. Here we and a Temple called Nishi Kanonji, which is said to have been founded by the monk Gyoki with the Honzon of the eleven-sided Kannon, the Buddha of refuge of Emperor Shomu.
The current Shiio Shrine is Located in just behind the center of the Suntory Distillery.
As you pass through the Suntory Distillery, the security guard will talk to you, but let's just say that we are going to the shrine.
Gari up the stairs and looking down at the world below from the Precincts, you can look down on the distillery and railroad tracks at a moderate height from between the rustling trees.
The design of Suntory Royal's bottle stopper is based on the motif of the Torii (shrine gate) gate of Shiio Shrine.
The shrine's Dedication Thereare has the name of Shinjiro Torii, and Suntory seems to be a shrine that is cherished.
In Spring, the Yamabuki flower of the island Honmachi is in full bloom, and you can enjoy performing with the cherry blossoms, and it is a quiet and good place.
