The World Heritage site “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution” marks its 10th anniversary in July since its inscription in 2015.
The 23 component sites scattered across 8 prefectures and 11 cities testify to how Japan embraced Western technology and achieved rapid industrial development in just half a century.
The Miike Coal Mine’s Manda Pit is carefully managed and maintained every day.
Manda Pit will offer free admission days during Golden Week, so please come visit.
