Hakone Gora Park: Winter Limited Afternoon Tea at Isshikido Saro

At Hakone Gora Park, the sandwich restaurant Isshikido Saro offers two varieties of winter-limited afternoon tea sets featuring tea, sandwiches, and sweets, sold in separate periods.

From Friday, December 1 through Monday, December 25, we will offer the Christmas Afternoon Tea.
The featured tea is PARIS from HARNEY & SONS, one of their signature blends inspired by the City of Lights, served hot.
The sweets highlight a coffee jelly with matcha whipped cream designed to evoke a Christmas tree.

■ Hakone Gora Park
Opened in Taisho 3 (1914) at Gora, the terminus of the Hakone Tozan Railway, Hakone Gora Park is Japan’s first French formal garden.
French formal gardens typically place geometric features such as fountains and ponds symmetrically across flat, expansive grounds, but Gora Park is built on a slope.
Surrounded by wide skies and mountains, the open grounds host many flower plantings and are known as a flower spot.
The park also features a tropical plant greenhouse, a tea house, and hands-on craft workshops, letting visitors enjoy a variety of experiences in one place.

At our restaurant we use carefully selected ingredients such as high-quality free-range eggs and meats from a long-established butcher, crafting each sandwich by hand as a satisfying single-dish sandwich cuisine.
We also offer a selection of teas chosen to pair with our food, and we have been offering seasonally changing afternoon tea menus since 2018.
