【Shibazakura Takinoue Park Information for May 6】
Due to strong winds, we regret to inform you that the park will be temporarily closed today.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to those who traveled from afar and were looking forward to enjoying the Shibazakura.
While strong winds have caused some fallen trees within the park, we prioritized everyone's safety and have been working on inspections and recovery. Although some traces remain, we have determined that there are no obstacles to entering the park, and we will resume normal operations starting tomorrow, May 7.
About 70 years ago, Shibazakura Takinoue Park faced a significant challenge when a typhoon caused the loss of the once-proud "Senbonzakura." However, from that point, the park has a history of rebuilding this landscape, which is among the largest in Japan, from the resilient Shibazakura that blooms close to the ground and just one box of "mikan seedlings." Shibazakura Takinoue Park has overcome several storms in the past. We will turn this recent wind into a "tailwind" to create the next 100 years, welcoming you with even greater passion. Together with the robustly blooming Shibazakura, we sincerely look forward to your visit.
