Cool Japan Video also publishes articles about Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture.
Please take a look here if you like.
Located in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, Hojuyama Rishakuji Temple is a nationally designated scenic spot located on a steep rocky mountain in the Kurakuni Quasi-National Park, which is blessed with abundant nature.
It is also famous as a model for the "mountain temple" that appears in the nursery rhyme Kazuhisa of Sanji Temple, and as a temple where the phrase "the voice of the cicada that penetrates the rocks" is sung in the alley at the back of Matsuo Basho.
Hojuzan Rissokuji Temple has a spiritual connection with Hiraizumi Chusonji Temple, Moetsu Temple, and Matsushima Zuiwaji Temple, and the pilgrimage route around these four temples is not to be missed when sightseeing in Yamagata. As a memory of your trip, we also recommend collecting the red seals of the four temples.
The gourmet food around Hojusan Rishakuji Temple, wild vegetable cuisine and Japan soba are also one of the attractions.
