The Gokoichi Bus is running again this year!! In 2025, the Gokoichi Bus will operate on weekends and public holidays only from Saturday, April 26 through Monday, November 24. The route makes a loop from Tsuruga Station to Mihama Station to Hamacho Lake Center to Rainbow Line to Jomon Roman Park to Mikata Station to Mihama Station and back to Tsuruga Station. (Some services start from Mihama Station and some terminate at Mihama Station.) Changes from last year: · There is no service to Kumagawa-juku. · There will be no weekday service during Golden Week. We would like to inform you about bus services on Prefectural Road Yarigatake-Yamura Line (commonly called Nakabusa Line), which leads to the Nakabusa Trailhead. Due to a shoulder collapse that occurred on Monday, April 14, 2025, bus operations to Nakabusa Onsen will change; please be aware of this change. Beyond the Miyagi Gate, the Nakabusa Line is closed to all vehicles except those with permits. The collapsed section is closed to vehicle traffic, so passage will be on foot; please walk with great care. Today, Tuesday, April 22, a test ride event for the electric-assist tricycle LA SI QUE (rashiku) was held in front of Mihama Town General Gymnasium at 1:30 PM. Representatives from the tourism association, which will rent the tricycles, Tsubakimoto Chain Co., Ltd., the developer of LA SI QUE (rashiku), and involved Mihama Town officials gathered to actually test-ride the vehicle and evaluate its comfort. The electric-assist tricycle LA SI QUE (rashiku) will be available for rental as part of the JR Mihama Station bike-share from Saturday, April 26. Please consider using it. LA SI QUE (rashiku) Rental Details Pick-up location: Wakasa Mihama Tourism Association (inside JR Mihama Station) Rental period: Saturday, April 26, 2025 – Tuesday, September 30, 2025 Rental hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Fees: 500 yen for 4 hours, 1,000 yen for one day, 1,500 yen for one night and two days (Completing a post-use questionnaire is required to rent.) Every year on May 3rd, the traditional Hayase Children’s Kabuki takes place. This boys’ elementary school children’s kabuki has been passed down for about 150 years. It is said to have started when kabuki performances by children were offered at local temples and shrines in Hayase to appease a cholera outbreak during the Edo period. Hayase Children’s Kabuki Date and time: Saturday, May 3, 2025 (National Holiday) from around 8:30 AM Location: In front of Hayase Hiyoshi Shrine and in front of Zuirin-ji Temple 20-24 Hayase, Mihama Town, Mikata District, Fukui Prefecture (Zuirin-ji) After the children’s kabuki is offered in front of Hiyoshi Shrine, the float will be pulled to Zuirin-ji Temple where another children’s kabuki offering will take place.
