田村神社の朱色の鳥居ですが、赤い色は豊年をあらわす色と伝えられています。 縁起をかつぐ商売人達が朱塗りの鳥居を神社に奉納し、商売繁昌を祈願したのが、朱塗り鳥居の始まりとも云われています。

~ Vermilion Torii Road ~
It is a vermilion torii gate at Tamura Shrine, but the red color is said to represent the rich year. It is said that the red-painted torii started when the merchants who had luck were offering the red-painted torii to the shrine and praying for prosperity of business.
