The most famous gourmet food in Hachioji is ramen. It is so well known among ramen lovers that there is even a type of ramen called "Hachioji Ramen. Unlike other ramen, "Hachioji Ramen" uses a large amount of onions in its broth. In Nishi-Hachioji, there is a Hachioji Ramen restaurant called "Goemon" where people stand in line. It is a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! It was a very tasty ramen with the sweetness of onion, just like "Hachioji Ramen". The international students at the Japanese language school like ramen very much. Some of the male students in particular eat ramen every day, and it is one of the reasons for their weight gain. By the way, many female students get fat from eating bread.
八王子で一番有名なグルメといえばラーメンです。「八王子ラーメン」というラーメンの種類があるくらい、ラーメン好きの間ではよく知られています。「八王子ラーメン」は他のラーメンと違って、スープの中に大量のたまねぎが使われています。西八王子には行列のできる八王子ラーメンのお店「吾衛門」があります。西八王子駅から徒歩3分なので、学校からもとても近いです。先日初めて食べました！「八王子ラーメン」らしくたまねぎの甘味を感じるとてもおいしいラーメンでした。日本語学校の留学生たちはラーメンがとても好きです。特に男子学生は毎日食べる人もいるので太る理由の一つになっているほどです。（ちなみに女子学生はパンで太ってしまう子が多いです。）
