"Come to Miyoshi Town and stop by ‘Yorinsai♪’" Let us introduce Yorinsai, a diner on Miyoshi-machi Ishidatami Street. The name uses a dialect often heard in Miyoshi. It means "feel free to drop in." 😊 This cozy spot welcomes not only locals but also visitors touring the area.✨ It is run by members of the Miyoshi City Silver Human Resources Center. The menu features home-cooked set meals, noodles, and prepared dishes made largely with seasonal vegetables from Miyoshi. Daily side dishes offer a comforting, nostalgic home-cooked taste.😋 Child-friendly tableware is available, and on sunny days the outdoor tables are recommended. The signature "Spicy Udon" is a one-of-a-kind creation born from a collaboration with Egusa Store.✨ Its vivid red broth leaves a strong impression, with savory flavor and lingering heat. Orders are taken by hand and payment is cash only. 💰 "You may have to wait a little sometimes, but we do our best—relax and take your time." Warm, personal interactions between people are a special part of this place’s charm.😊 "Hearing customers say, ‘That was delicious! I’ll come again,’ is our greatest encouragement." This is a place where you can feel the warmth and spirit of the people of Miyoshi. When you visit Miyoshi Town, be sure to stop by Yorinsai! Yorinsai @yorinsai12_sc Address: 1550-2 Miyoshi-machi, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday Hours: 10:00–14:00 Phone: 0824-63-8500 Other: Payment is cash only. *The dishes shown were available at the time of posting."

Enveloped by the forest, a gentle hot spring The end of a day touring Miyoshi There is a place where you can soak in the onsen and stay the night afterwards. The hot spring at Kumita Onsen Mori no Izumi has long been loved as a “beauty spring.” The water, rich in sodium bicarbonate (bicarbonate of soda), gently smooths the skin, leaving it feeling soft after your bath. This spring is said to work gently on neuralgia, chilliness, and poor circulation. The second floor of the hot spring facility is reserved for overnight guests. There are Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, and Japanese-Western hybrid rooms, so you can choose according to group size and how you’d like to spend your time. There is also a self-catering plan without meals, which is popular for family gatherings when people return home and for trips with flexible plans. Reservations are available from Kumita Onsen’s official website. Day-trip bathing is also available in addition to overnight stays. Please spend time letting both body and mind be healed by Mori no Izumi.♨ Kumita Onsen Mori no Izumi @kimita_onsen 📍311-3 Izumi Yoshida, Kimita Town, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Phone / 0824-53-7021 Day-trip bathing (Fee) Adults 800 yen, ages 3 to elementary school 400 yen, infants free (Hours) 10:00–20:30 (last admission 20:00) https://kimitaonsen.com//

【Everybody is welcome!】 Right next to Kamikawatachi Station is Cafe Mike and Shirley —a shop marked by its name painted on a white wall, housed in a renovated 70-year-old rice warehouse☕ Inside, you’ll find teapots, cups, and British teas sourced from the United Kingdom. The tall ceilings and natural light create a relaxed space where you can enjoy tea or lunch at your leisure. The lunch menu’s fish pie comes straight from the oven, served piping hot. Wrapped in the toasty aroma of cheese, a spoon reveals a white sauce filled with salmon, shrimp, and scallops. The seafood’s savory flavors gently unfold. Served with salad and bread, the herb-scented notes drifting from the bread whet the appetite 😋 Owner Mr. Soneda honed his skills at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant. Desserts are made by his British wife, Karina, and each one is authentically done. They opened with the idea of creating a place where eating makes people happy, right here in Kamikawatachi. If you’re lucky, you can spot a train through the window, giving you the feeling of a pleasant stop on your journey 🚃 This is the perfect spot not only for fans of British cuisine but also for anyone seeking a calm café experience. 【Café Mike and Shirley】 @cafemikeandshirley ■ Address: 2271-2 Kamikawatachi, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture ■ Hours: 11:30–17:00 ■ Closed: Monday, Tuesday, and the 2nd and 4th Sundays ■ Tel: 070-1874-8939 ■ Vegetarian options available ■ Accessible for wheelchairs and strollers ■ Diaper changing sheet available ※Menu items and prices are as of the time of posting.

[A special one just for you ✨] It feels like gazing into a jeweler’s display case! This rumoured patisserie makes everyone’s eyes light up. Introducing Patisserie bianco nero (Patisserie Bianco Nero) . The shop name Bianco Nero (literally "white and black" in Japanese) is also the nickname of the Italian football team Juventus. True to its name, the chic interior is styled in black and white. Beautifully shaped cakes line the display case. They aren’t sliced cakes but individually crafted whole cakes. "We want to deliver a single special cake just for you," and "We want people to enjoy an entire cake filled with our feelings," the pastry chef says. The chef trained as a pastry chef under a French chef at a renowned Western confectionery shop in Shizuoka Prefecture. Deciding to live in a place rich in nature, the chef relocated and opened this shop in Miyoshi in May 2018. On this day, we spoke with a regular customer. "They’re like works of art—when you open the box everyone goes ‘wow’. The sweetness is restrained and the flavours are delicate. There’s no other shop like this," they said. The taste and beauty have built a reputation, attracting visitors who bring coolers from outside the prefecture and many customers from Hiroshima City. Customer gender is about evenly split between men and women. The cake selection changes frequently with the seasons and events. Come by to find your own special cake 😊 *Products and prices are as of the time of publication.* Patisserie bianco nero @patisserie_bianco_nero 📍 2-15-14 Tokaichi South, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture 📞 0824-53-1315 Hours: 10:00–18:00 *Closed when sold out* Closed: every Wednesday and the 1st and 3rd Thursdays Access: about a 3-minute drive from Miyoshi Interchange (Miyoshi IC) Parking: available Other: We recommend reserving the item you want. A bowl to satisfy both heart and stomach 🍜 Introducing Nagomian, a ramen shop run by an owner who used to be a soba craftsman. The shop name reflects the wish that visitors will relax and take their time. 😊 The interior displays autographs from Carp players, making this a cozy ramen spot that fans visit. Most popular with men is the Miso Vegetable Ramen. Rich miso clings to medium-thick noodles, piled high with vegetables and topped with a large slice of chashu that whets the appetite. You can also request extra back fat and garlic, creating a powerful bowl that will be empty before you know it. 😋 Popular with women is the dashi-forward Kake Chuka. The elegant broth, extracted from bonito flakes and kelp, pairs perfectly with thin noodles. ✨ The soup’s aroma and gentle flavor soak through your whole body. For those wanting a lighter portion, try the Half Chuka. This classic-style chuka soba features a deeply flavored broth that children also love. The owner says nothing motivates them more than hearing “That was delicious” and seeing customers return day after day. “We want our customers to simply enjoy themselves,” and with that in mind, pay attention to the limited-time menus that appear with the seasons and events. Be sure to check the shop’s Instagram for new offerings. ✨ @nagomian_miyoshi Nagomian is a warm shop filled with the owner’s passion—enjoy a thoroughly satisfying bowl. 🍜 Nagomian @nagomian_miyoshi Address: 470-5 Minamihatajiki-cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Hours: 11:00–14:30 (Also open 18:00–20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays) Closed: Monday and Tuesday TEL: 0824-63-3839 Parking: Available ※Menu items and prices are as of the time of posting https://www.instagram.com/nagomian_miyoshi/...

The season of the sea of fog has arrived ✨ When you think of Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, the sea of fog comes to mind. As autumn deepens and mornings and evenings grow colder, this is the perfect time to see it. The whole town becomes wrapped in white mist, and a quiet time passes as if you were above the clouds. To enjoy the sea of fog, start with the classic Takataneyama. From the observatory, you can watch the mist slowly drift and the morning sun gradually breaking through. One of its charms is how the view changes from day to day. For a relaxed natural setting, go to Okadayama. From the mountaintop the mist spreads to the distant peaks, creating a calm, sea‑like panorama. At Tomishiyama, the contrast between the sea of fog and the mountain ridges is striking. Depending on the day’s weather and light, it reveals a completely different expression. The sea of fog is a special sight that appears only on mornings when weather conditions line up. That’s why the joy of encountering it feels all the more special. It typically takes about two to four hours for the fog to clear. The scene as the mist lifts is beautiful as well ♪ On chilly mornings, set your alarm a little earlier and come to Miyoshi. Why not see the spectacular views the fog creates in Miyoshi? *The photos are from past visits.* ◼ Takataneyama (Sea of Fog Observatory) *Images: 1–2* Address: Awaya‑cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Parking: About 30 spaces ◼ Tomishiyama *Images: 3–4* Address: Yasuda, Kisa‑cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Parking: About 100 spaces ◼ Okadayama *Images: 5–6* Address: Ueda‑cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Parking: About 5 spaces

A Pleasant Lake Experience to Enjoy✨ Miyoshi is finally cooling down in the mornings and evenings, and the season to fully enjoy outdoor activities has arrived😊 This fall’s top recommendation is the “Ten-chan’s Haizuka Lake SUP Tour,” which we’d like to introduce😊 SUP stands for Stand Up Puddle. You stand on a board and paddle across the water, gliding smoothly in this popular activity. Even complete beginners, from children to seniors, can get up on the board quickly after a lesson. The greatest appeal is that you can enjoy it easily without worrying about fitness✨ The SUP instructor is Ten-chan, an experienced surfing and SUP instructor. Her careful teaching and radiant smile are highly praised, so even first-timers can feel at ease and enjoy themselves. Unlike the sea, you can relax on the calm lake surface. Surrounded by Haizuka Lake’s rich nature, you can savor a graceful stroll across the water🥰 Instruction proceeds at each participant’s pace, so few people fall into the water. Those who are determined to fall can keep trying challenging moves until they do! Since splashes may wet your hands and feet, please bring a change of clothes. You can change in a simple tent on site. Fresh water is prepared in a tank. If you fall in, you can rinse off inside the tent. “The leaves will soon be beautiful. Temperatures are comfortable, making this the best season for SUP! Anyone can feel free to get in touch😊,” says instructor Ten-chan. Why not try SUP in Miyoshi this fall? It’s sure to be a fun autumn day! Ten-chan’s Haizuka Lake SUP Experience Tour Location / 1650 Haizuka, Miraisaka-cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture (Sai no Toge) Period / Until Sunday, November 30 — weekdays and weekends (irregular holidays) Meeting times / ① 10:00 ② 13:30 Duration / Experience course 90 minutes, Lesson course 120 minutes Group size / 1–5 people (Big SUP fits up to 10) *For groups of 6 or more, please consult us *Feel free to discuss participation by preschool children. Fees / Experience (90 minutes) Weekdays ¥5,500, Weekends and holidays ¥7,700 Lesson (120 minutes) ¥7,700 Half-day private (2.5 hours) ¥22,000 and up per group *Full-day private (6 hours) SUP courses and Big SUP courses (2.5 hours) are also available. *Wetsuit and marine shoe rentals available (Wetsuit rentals are free this season✨) How to reserve / Search for “Ten-chan SUP Miyoshi DMO” Apply using the link on the page. To let more people enjoy SUP, they are recruiting instructors. A training program to help aspiring instructors level up will start, regardless of experience. What is the heartwarming fall experience “Choudo Gari”? 💛 The highlight of the autumn outing season, Hirata Sightseeing Farm’s “Choudo Gari,” is a fruit-picking style where you exchange a ticket for the fruit of your choice. ♪ The key point is that you can take your time and enjoy fruit picking with no time limit. 🍇✨ At reception you receive a three-item set: ・a paper bag ・a ticket ・a farm map ! The farm map shows which fruits are available to harvest that day and how many tickets each requires, so head to the area that interests you. Harvesting scissors ✂️ and the like are provided at the entrance to each area, so you can come empty-handed. Staff will let fruits ripen to the perfect eating point, and you can eat chilled fruit right on the spot. 🍑 *On this visit we enjoyed a super-chilled peach♪* With so many fruits to harvest, it’s hard to decide which to pick! You can harvest Pione grapes and Shine Muscat, both specialties of Miyoshi. ✨ noqoo Labo’s seasonal fruit parfaits, and the old-merchant-house cafe noqoo’s noqoo burger and fruit curry, which make abundant use of orchard fruit, are also very popular. 🍔✨ You can feed snacks to cows and goats, take a break in the cafe, and relax in nature. This autumn, why not fully enjoy fruit picking at Hirata Sightseeing Farm in Miyoshi? (“Choudo Gari” runs until early November.) 🏠 Hirata Sightseeing Farm Address: 1740-3 Ueda-cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture Phone: 0824-69-2346 Hours: 10:00–17:00 *Early opening*: From September 13 to October 19 the farm opens one hour earlier (from 9:00). Closed: March–November on Wednesdays and Thursdays; December–February on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays IG: https://www.instagram.com/hirata.farm/... *For business days and other details, please see Instagram.* This time, Natalie, who has been working at Miyoshi DMO as an international exchange staff member since July, experienced “Choudo Gari.” ☺️✨

Summer calls for this hearty steak bowl!😋 Thick layers of beef steak completely cover the rice, so you can’t see a grain! You can enjoy this talked-about steak bowl at Oshokujidokoro Nagadote in Minamihatajiki‑cho, Miyoshi City. The beef used is Tokachi Wakagyu(R), a branded cattle from Hokkaido. Only steers are served here. They are low in fat with a tender texture.😊 They sear high-quality meat boldly and season it with homemade steak sauce. The savory sauce is poured generously until the meat gleams, whetting your appetite! The rich sauce clings just right, spreading the juicy flavor across your mouth. "They pile it so high you can’t see the rice!" "It looks exactly like the photos!" — it’s been a hit on social media. Many visitors are amazed by its volume and taste. The rice is 100% from Kamisugi in Miyoshi City. Vegetables for small side dishes and salads also come from local farmers. They actively use Miyoshi’s fresh, delicious ingredients. Nagadote is run by second‑generation owner Mr. Takemoto. He wants guests to be delighted when they come. With that single-minded dedication, he spares no effort in preparation and even pays close attention to how each piece of meat is grilled — a key reason for the great taste. To ensure smooth service, customers choose their menu before entering. You place your order first, then take a seat. Since social media became popular, more customers have come after seeing the photos. They attract diners from inside and outside the prefecture and even international travelers. Beat the summer heat with Nagadote’s top pick — a stamina-packed meal! A truly dynamic playground in the Chugoku region! Enjoy creek play for free in the great outdoors Here are summer-recommended spots😊 This is Enokawa Canoe Park Sakugi in Sakugi, Miyoshi City. Besides canoeing, the park offers creek play in summer, a campground, cottage stays, bathing facilities, and a restaurant. Unlike pools, you can meet small creatures and plunge into cold river water in this popular area. Why not enjoy Miyoshi’s summer with your whole body?✨ Opening period: June 1 to the end of September The water play zone is available at any time during this period. Some days may be closed due to rising water levels. For availability check the official website of Enokawa Canoe Park Sakugi. ●Water slide This hugely popular slide uses naturally cold creek water! You can borrow a board to slide on for free😊 *Water depth: 120 cm* During busy times, handing out boards may take time, so we recommend bringing your own float ring. ●Creek pool For small children, the creek pool that collects creek water is recommended. It is located very close to the water slide. *Maximum water depth: 60 cm* ●Creek walking Stroll upstream with an instructor. Wearing a life jacket and helmet, you will experience the natural creek with your whole body—wading to shoulder depth, feeling fish slip past your feet, and enjoying a summer-long adventure✨ (Paid activity, reservation required. Date to be arranged.) There are also areas suitable for small children, such as zigzag channels and stepped pools. Life jackets are available for rent for a fee, so please use them.😊 --------------------Safety notes for creek play ⚠------------------- ➤There are no lifeguards at the slide or creek play areas. ➤The slide and creek are very slippery. Please do not take your eyes off your children. ➤Be mindful of insects and animals when entering the river or bushes. ➤Please refrain from setting up tents or tarps around the water slide. (Simple sun shades are OK.) --------------------------------------------------------------- \Cafe & Restaurant Canoe—Renewal OPEN!/ Located in the management building of Enokawa Canoe Park Sakugi. Try the chicken paitan curry or the hearty beef tongue bowl, the filling omurice, and a selection of sweets. [Recommended Power Spot in Miyoshi ✨] This is Shina Falls in Kisa, Miyoshi City. The three waterfalls known as Shina Falls lie within a 1.5 km gorge stretching from Kisa to Konu. A well-maintained, gentle walking trail leads you to the largest fall, Ichi no Taki, which drops about 11 m. (Photo) You can spot many wild animals and plants here. Besides the three main falls, small cascades appear here and there, so you can fully enjoy the great outdoors 😊 *From Ni no Taki to San no Taki you sometimes have to climb the streambed and cross the river using ropes. Make sure you have proper gear, and watch out for snakes 🐍.* Where are your favorite power spots in Miyoshi? Please tell us in the comments! A summer tradition praying for protection from misfortune✨ This is Taisai Shrine in Miyoshi-machi, Miyoshi City. It is a seven-minute walk from the Miyoshi Mononoke Museum. The shrine grounds, where the solemn main hall and centuries-old trees harmonize, cleanse the heart. Known as the setting for the manga Asagiri no Miko, which features a miko as the protagonist, the shrine is beloved by many fans. At the roughly 400-year-old Ring Passing Festival, worshippers pass through a large straw ring to pray for good health and freedom from illness, a traditional ritual still carefully preserved today. It takes place exactly halfway through the year, every June 30th. Also known as the Yukata Opening, people in yukata gather to decorate early summer memories. Wrapped in a cool breeze, why not spend a time at Taisai Shrine feeling nature and tradition✨ /The 400-year-old traditional Ring Passing Festival is held/ The festival will take place at Taisai Shrine from the evening of Monday, June 30th. For details about the Ring Passing Festival, please check Taisai Shrine’s Instagram🔍 Taisai Shrine 📍1112-2 Miyoshi-machi, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture 🚙About 12 minutes from Miyoshi IC on the Chugoku Expressway Priest and miko are not always on site. From June 1st, Miyoshi’s summer tradition begins🌿 The Miyoshi ukai (cormorant fishing), with a history of more than 450 years, has started✨ What is ukai? Ukai is a traditional Japanese fishing method that uses cormorants to catch sweetfish (ayu). Cormorants are exceptionally skilled hunters. They dive into the water and swallow the fish whole, holding them in their throats☝️ In ukai, handlers wrap a cord around the bird’s neck so it won’t completely swallow a large ayu. The cormorant handler, called an usho, makes the bird regurgitate the fish and collects the catch. This fishing method is called ukai. What makes Miyoshi’s ukai unique? Ukai was once practiced across Japan, but today it survives as a tourist attraction in only 11 locations nationwide. One of these precious sites is Miyoshi, notable above all for the exceptional skill of its cormorant handlers✨ The cord attached to each cormorant is called a tanawa. In Miyoshi, the tanawa stretches an astonishing seven meters— the longest in Japan❗ With that extra length, the cormorants range far and wide, moving freely in every direction❗ You can witness the powerful sight of the birds hunting up close. And watching the handlers skillfully control the long tanawa is a brave, captivating sight✨ The pleasure boats we ride run alongside the cormorant fishing boats carrying the usho. That lets you see this dramatic spectacle right up close😊 This is one of the great attractions of Miyoshi’s ukai! What is the relationship between the usho and the cormorants? Some people may feel sorry that the birds are made to regurgitate the fish. The usho and the cormorants are irreplaceable partners who live and work together. The birds are treated as members of the usho’s family and cared for with great affection🌿 Cormorants are said to bond closely with people. Handlers communicate with them every day, shower them with affection🥰, and train them carefully. It is said that ukai cannot be done without a trusting relationship between the bird and the usho, so their feelings must be mutually understood for the method to work. Because the cormorants and usho fish together as a family, a strong bond forms between them. The beautiful scenes they create together in ukai are truly a sight to behold. CHECK! For more details about Miyoshi’s ukai, follow the URL link on this account♪

This is a photo of a cat's interior goods at a café in Sanrazaka-cho, Miyoshi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Use the lights in the store, I expressed "a cat in the twilight of the sunset". According to the owner, it is a work made by an iron craftsman in Miyoshi City. "I like the view from behind, but I can't take a good picture," the owner said. Squid was able to take this photo ☺️ when I was trying to figure out how to capture it well The thinness of the limbs and neck, as well as the symmetrical ears, convey that the iron craftsmen are carefully and thoughtfully made. The skills of Japan craftsmen. I thought it was cool! ✨ It is also a wonderful memory ☺️ that I was able to share my impression with the owner in this photo
