On July 5, 2025, hydrangea flower picking was held around Puko Temple in Bungo-Ono City Asaji, Oita Prefecture. About 50 people participated in picking hydrangea flowers in and around the Precincts. The polished Buddha carved in the Precincts is about 11 meters high including the pedestal, making it one of the largest polished Buddha statues in Japan. The giant Buddha in the center is Fudo Myoo. Fudo Myoo is a phase of fury, that is, an angry face, but this polished cliff Buddha has been exposed to the elements for many years and has a round and gentle expression.
