Nagasaki Prefecture Saikai City Tourism Association ♪ This is an introduction to the Saikai Bridge that connects Saikai City and Sasebo City Hario. The days are still cold, but from around February next month, "Kawazu cherry blossoms" will continue to bloom, and "Someiyoshino" will bloom at the end of March, and you can enjoy the wonderful scenery! "Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property Saikai Bridge" It is a red bridge that connects Inoura Township, Seihi Town, Saikai City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and Hario Higashi Town, Sasebo City. The Saikai Bridge was built in October 1955 (Showa 30) to connect Sasebo City and the Nishisonogi Peninsula (Saikai City) to Inoura Seto, one of Japan's three major rapid tides. It is 316 m long and 42 m above sea level. At that time, the Saikai Bridge was the third largest bridge of this type in the world and the largest bridge in the East.
