3. Rishigahira Park

Bungo Ono City in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu.

On January 3, 2025, the Ontake Kagura New Year performance took place at the Kagura Kaikan in Kiyokawamachi, Bungo Ono City.

■■■ What is Ontake Kagura
The Ontake Kagura passed down in Kiyokawamachi is said to have begun in 1449, at the same time as the founding of Ontake Shrine.
It has been handed down for a long time, and Kagura in this tradition is performed in Oono, Naoiri, Ken Nan, and as far as the Aso region. In 2007 it was designated a National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property.

The Isehara City Tourism Association officially launched today.

Winter Mount Oyama ✨ Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays from January 11 to January 26, 2025 ✨
This winter, for seven days only, the Oyama Cable Car line will be illuminated and operate night services with views until 7:00 PM.
On Sunday, January 12, the Oyama Sky Lantern® will be launched from Oyama Afuri Shrine Lower Shrine at 4:30 PM, and popular characters Kururin, Kanamin, and Mokoron will appear on rotating weekends (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).

The view from Oyama Afuri Shrine Lower Shrine was awarded two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The nightscape seen through the clear winter air is indescribably beautiful and captivating.
Please take this opportunity to join the many events.

Snow Fairy
Did you know that there is a snow fairy in Hokkaido?
Its name is "Shimaenaga"
Originally, this wild bird called Enaga resembled a long-handled ladle in appearance.

In fact, there are long-tailed moths in Honshu, but this pure white subspecies of long-tailed moth only lives in Hokkaido

Today, new Spring wolf smoke was held in various parts of Kiso.
Smoke is smoke that is raised high using firewood or gunpowder, and in the past, it was used as a signal or landmark during wartime / emergency. In other words, it was a means of transmitting Information.

The New Spring Wolf Smoke Festival, Held in every year on January 4 in Kiso, began in 2007 with the call of the Tsumagoro Love Association to strengthen the sense of solidarity in Kiso Valley and revitalize Kiso.
