Chinda Falls (Chinda no Taki) – Kyushu, Oita Prefecture, Bungoono City Chinda Falls consists of the male fall on the main stream of the Ono River and the female fall on the Hirai River, a tributary. The male fall measures about 100 m across and 20 m high, while the female fall is about 10 m across and 18 m high. The rocks that form Chinda Falls were deposited by the pyroclastic flows from the great eruption of Mount Aso approximately 90,000 years ago. The site is also famous because Sesshū, the ink-painting master active during the Muromachi period, visited and painted “Chinda Waterfall.” Near the falls lie the remains of an old hydroelectric power station built in the Meiji era. COOL JAPAN VIDEOS Photo Contest PR
Dec. 26, 2022
Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce "sakura.hill" post "Fujikawachi Valley". It is a photo that impresses the formative beauty of nature. Fujikawachi Valley is a representative scenic spot located in the Grandmother's Quasi-National Park that straddles Oita and Miyazaki prefectures. The Fujikawachi Valley stretches for about 8 km. You can enjoy the beauty of the shapes created by nature, such as mortar, spiral, gourd, and streamlined, from the promenade along the stream. The valley has many seasonal attractions. In spring and summer, you can enjoy fresh greenery and canyoning mid-June ~ end of September, and in autumn, you can enjoy autumn leaves. In winter, Kannon Falls with a drop of 77 meters freezes, so the Kannon Falls Icefall tour is popular. Another attraction is the Fujikawachi Valley Campsite, which has bungalows and campsites. After getting tired from playing in the river or trekking, we recommend using the hot spring facility "Fujikawachiyu~Topia". You can enjoy the hot spring while looking at the Fujikawachi Valley from the window. ◆Fujikawachi Valley◆ 【Address】〒879-3402 Oita Prefecture, Saiki City, Ume Oaza Mokuurauchi 【Access】 car Approximately 75 minutes from Saiki IC on the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway via National Routes 10, 609, 39, and 326

This is so cool! I love how the trees are just welcoming you into the temple. I guess I should throw this on my list of places to visit in Oita. Still have to visit the hot springs over there too. I have some friends over in Beppu so maybe I can say hey to them while I'm in the area. I was reading an article about Futagoji Temple on here and it looked like a really nice place to go. I like the architecture of the temple too. It looks like Kunsaki has some traditional crafts that you can try out as well so that'd be an interesting experience. Hopefully I can head out there this summer or something!
