At dusk, the midsummer sun gradually diminishes its brilliance and begins to tilt into the western sky. The sunflower fields in Kasai Rinkai Park were enveloped in a tranquility that induced township, different from the lively daytime. The sunflowers spread all over the place, shining their faces as if they were sparing the last rays of the sun. At that Time Slot / Time of Day, I was crazy about taking the shutter. In that place where many many sunflowers are in bloom, this one sunflower caught my eye. Illuminated by the setting sun, the gradation of light and shadow woven by the petals was like a painting. I deliberately cut out the brightly colored sunflowers in monochrome because I wanted to take a break from the hustle and bustle of color and express the universal beauty of form created by the soft light of dusk and the vitality of looking powerfully at the end of the day. Because it is a world of black and white, the delicate texture of the petals, the powerful stems that stand out in the shadows, and the center that shines in the western sun stand out. It was as if this sunflower was telling us, "Be yourself and shine in any situation." This piece is more than just a summer scene. I took this photo in the hope that it would give hope to the viewer's heart and be deeply engraved in their hearts as an unforgettable memory of the passing summer twilight.

A Long-Awaited Hike up Mt. Shiraiwa 👟 From the 13th to the 17th, the town road Hon’yashiki–Hagisen reopened to regular vehicles, so I left my car at Gokasecho Highland Ski Area’s Ski Center and hiked up Mt. Shiraiwa 💪 Because the management road up to the ski area still prohibits ordinary cars, I first headed on foot for the Gobobatake trailhead ✨ About 30 minutes after starting, I reached the Gobobatake trailhead 💡 From there I set off on my long-awaited hike up Mt. Shiraiwa 😊 The trail was rough at first, but it was generally easy to walk and the cool weather made the climb comfortable ✨ At the summit I exchanged valuable information and learned about conditions on nearby peaks 👍 The photos show an asagi-madara butterfly and alpine wildflowers I encountered along the way 🥰 It felt great to hike Mt. Shiraiwa again and it was a refreshing experience 😆

The "Mutsumi Flower Road" spreads all over the mountains of Mt. Summer has arrived 🌻 Last week Gokasecho saw many rainy and cloudy days, but this week the weather has been pure summer ✨ with the sun dazzling every day 😎 I drove out to Shirataki to look for a bit of cool air 🚗 Just watching the water fall from a drop of about 20 meters felt refreshing 😊 Along the way there was a sunflower field in full bloom 🌻 It was a spot I’d never known about before, so I felt like I’d discovered a great treat 🎵 People often picture Miyazaki Prefecture as hot, but Gokasecho sits surrounded by high mountains ⛰ Because of that, average summer temperatures are a few degrees lower than other parts of the prefecture, and mornings and evenings can be chilly enough to need a light blanket. Tokachi Hills, a garden on a gentle hill in Makubetsu, is hosting Rose Week until Sunday, July 13. At the entrance, you can borrow leisure sheets and baskets for free and enjoy a picnic inside the garden. The café attached to the shop serves soft-serve ice cream, rice balls, curry and more. This time I had a chilled white corn soup made with Memuro-grown corn. There is also Garden Cafe NIWAKARA in the garden, where you can enjoy lunch or a reservation-only afternoon tea while looking over the grounds. Notice of the End of the After Hydrangea Festival The hydrangeas floated in the tanks around the monument at Izukyu Shimoda Station rotary were well received by many visitors, and for a brief while everyone could enjoy a beautiful sight 💐✨ Although the display was originally scheduled to run until Tuesday, July 16, we decided to remove the flowers on the evening of Friday, July 11 due to consecutive days of extreme heat. This being the first attempt at this exhibition, we conducted the trial under three challenging conditions—hydrangeas past their peak in the garden, near-summer temperatures, and water—while worrying how long the blossoms could remain beautiful. We implemented all possible measures, including rotating flowers and topping up the tanks, but under the midsummer-like sun it proved difficult to preserve their beauty, so we made the decision to end the display earlier than planned. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to it and ask for your understanding.
