❚ Fukoji Temple
The cliff-carved Buddha on the temple grounds stands about 11 meters tall, including its pedestal, making it one of the largest cliff-carved Buddhas in Japan. The central figure is Fudo Myoo (the Immovable Wisdom King). Fudo Myoo is typically depicted with an angry expression, but this cliff-carved Buddha has developed a round and gentle appearance over the years of exposure to the elements. Despite its large size, Fudo Myoo has a very approachable presence.
Fukoji Temple is also known as "Hydrangea Temple" due to the numerous hydrangeas planted there. During the rainy season, visitors can enjoy the sight of many hydrangea flowers alongside the cliff-carved Buddha.
The hydrangeas are cared for by the temple and the local community.

[A Village Full of Flowers]
Our village hosts a beautiful event every June.

This year, many villagers contributed,
and pansies and marigolds were planted in the flower beds along the roads. 🌸

Villagers divided into groups for planting flowers, mowing grass, and cutting trees.

We were fortunate to work under a clear blue sky without any rain showers,
sweating a little as we toiled.

Staff from the town hall and local construction workers also participated,
helping with the preparation of seedlings, collecting finished pots, and cleaning up.

I look forward to seeing the planted flowers grow vigorously,
bringing vibrant colors to our village.

【Hydrangeas are in full bloom!💫】

Yesterday (6/18), I took photos of hydrangeas that have reached their peak amidst the light rain📸

During these rainy days, people tend to feel down, but the hydrangeas were shining vibrantly✨

The photos are of hydrangeas around a campground just off Prefectural Route 8, which leads from Japan National Route 218 into the Kuwanochi District😌

Further ahead, the Kuwanochi District continues to be adorned with colorful hydrangeas along the road🤗💕

Like the hydrangeas, let’s stay strong and cheerful despite the prolonged rain💪🔥

Early morning in Enoshima. This is Okutsumiya Hanakairō, located in the innermost area of Enoshima.
A pleasant sea breeze swayed the flowers, and sunlight began to filter through the still-dark forest.

In June, Kagawa Prefecture not only boasts the azure scenery of the Seto Inland Sea but also welcomes the blooming season of hydrangeas at Mt. Shiude in Mitoyo City. Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, is actually surrounded by many small lakes that resemble satellites, and Pinghu is one of them. However, only fishermen are aware of its existence, so in spring, you can leisurely enjoy cherry blossom viewing while taking in the sight of the giant cherry trees that encircle the lake, all while being gently blown by the lake breeze.

In Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, there is a beautiful area where 600 cherry blossom trees line both banks of a clear stream. It's a tranquil spot, perfect for leisurely cherry blossom viewing, and the view from the center of the pedestrian bridge is fantastic.

The Isotsutsuji at the foot of Mt. Io is blooming abundantly✨. Its white, round flowers are incredibly delicate. Be sure to enjoy the Isotsutsuji that can only be seen during this time of year.
