Ebetsu Tourism Association
Jul. 12, 2023
Nice to meet everyone who watched the COOL JAPAN VIDEOS! This is the Ebetsu Tourism Association. We will send out information about Ebetsu City, which is full of charm, such as tourist information and event information of Ebetsu City, Hokkaido, so thank you. Ebetsu City, with a population of about 120,000, is located in central Hokkaido (central Hokkaido region), and is adjacent to Sapporo City on the west side of the city. It is about 40 minutes by car from the center of Sapporo and about 20 minutes by train from Sapporo Station to Nopporo Station in the city, making it an easily accessible area, and the population has rapidly increased as a commuter town of Sapporo City from the late 1955 (Showa 30) to the 40s. The climate is slightly warmer than other areas of Hokkaido, and there is less snow than in mountainous areas. In Ebetsu City, Nopporo Forest Park, a provincial natural park where one of the world's leading flatland primeval forests remains, and the Ishikari River, a first-class river, flow, allowing you to feel close to the great nature of Hokkaido. Ebetsu City, which is about 1 hour by car or train from New Chitose Airport, is also an ideal destination for sightseeing in Hokkaido! Now, let's take a look at some of the most popular sightseeing spots in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido. The Hokkaido Forestry Tree Breeding Center Old Government Building has been used as a central facility for forestry research in Hokkaido. The building constructed in 1927 (Showa 2) has high historical value and was registered as a national tangible cultural property in 2001 (Heisei 13). The Hokkaido Archives, which will be introduced next, has a collection of 269,000 official documents that allow you to learn about the history of Hokkaido, and some of the documents are designated as important cultural properties of the country. "Ebetsu City Forest Campsite" is a campsite that is open from May to October and is equipped with flush toilets and a cooking area. You can set up a tent at a campsite surrounded by nature and spend a luxurious time looking up at the vast night sky of Hokkaido and enjoying the starry sky. "Vegetable Station Fureai Farm" sells fresh vegetables from Hokkaido, so it is ideal as a souvenir for sightseeing in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido. Ebetsu City is also known as one of Japan's leading brick production areas, and in October 2004 (Heisei 16), Ebetsu Brick was certified as a Hokkaido Heritage Site. Starting with the Ebetsu Glass Art Museum and the Ebetsu Ceramic Art Center, brick buildings such as elementary schools and private houses remain in beautiful form in the city. The "Ebetsu Yakimono Market" held every July gathers ★ many ceramics every year. Please enjoy gourmet food when sightseeing in Ebetsu City! Ebetsu City is famous for its wheat production area, and the bread, ramen, and udon noodles made with the most popular variety "Haruyutaka" are exquisite! The tenderness and flavor of the meat of Ezo Tajima beef raised in Ebetsu is unforgettable once you eat it. These are also popular items for hometown tax payments. Finally, we will introduce popular summer events in Ebetsu City. "Ebetsu Fireworks" is a festival loved by locals, and the fireworks that are launched at close range and light up the night sky fascinate the viewers, making it the perfect festival to make summer memories in Hokkaido. Experience Ebetsu's rich nature, delicious food, historic architecture, and above all, the warm hearts of its people. We will send out the latest information of Ebetsu City in COOL JAPAN VIDEOS, so please look forward to it! !!

Tokachigawa Onsen Tourist Association
Jul. 5, 2023
【Moor Hot Spring Firefly Viewing】 Glowworms grown in the water of the Mole hot spring perform a dance of light. In the past, I was able to see fireflies around Tokachigawa Onsen. However, with the modernization of the city, the environment in which fireflies can live has decreased, and it is no longer possible to see fireflies at the end of the 1990 (Heisei 2) summer. The purpose of the revival of the firefly at Tokachigawa Onsen is to bring back the early summer scene that was previously common. One of the major features of the regeneration of fireflies is the use of hot spring water as a water source, and the spring quality of Tokachigawa Onsen is a rare "plant-based mall hot spring" in the world that contains a lot of plant components. Because it contains plant components, it contains a lot of minerals that are essential for the reproduction of diatoms, which are food for snails. This is the first time in Japan that fireflies have been successfully regenerated using 100% hot spring water. Heike fireflies were distributed from Kyushu to Hokkaido, Eastern Siberia and Korea, and inhabited many waterside environments surrounding wetlands and rice paddies. The characteristic of Hokkaido's fireflies is that the interval between their emission tends to be longer than that of fireflies in Honshu. Period:7/8(Sat)~7/23(Sun) Time: 20:00~21:00 Location: Tokachigaoka Park
