Shosenkyo Tourism Association
Mar. 5, 2025
Hello. This is En'emon Denshōkan. As the weather swings between warm and cold, spring is slowly approaching♪ The foliage around Kaku-enpeak seems to be getting a bit greener. March 3rd was Hinamatsuri across the country🎎 In Yamanashi, many places celebrate on April 3rd, so the festive mood of the doll festival continues for a month✨ The tradition of wishing for healthy growth has been passed down for a long time. Aquamarine, the birthstone for March, is said to purify the heart and give hope, and its stone meaning is “filled with happiness,” so it also makes a good charm✨ Also, the rose quartz we recommend this time is a healing stone and a stone of love, and it is considered a protector of women. We look forward to seeing your smiles🙂✨

Tomakomai Tourism Association
Feb. 24, 2025
Tomachop at the tourist information center has transformed from the female hina doll to the male hina doll ✨ Doesn’t he look sharp and handsome? I’ve lined up images of the female hina doll version from just the other day 🌸 Did you know: In Hokkaido, like in the Kanto region, the female hina doll is placed on the viewer’s right and the male on the viewer’s left. 🎎 I’ve heard that in places like Kyoto, the positions of the male and female hina dolls are reversed 🌸

Hina dolls prayed to ward off misfortune from children and bring good fortune in life. On the Izu Peninsula, hina dolls are displayed with various wishes tied into hanging decorations on both sides of the tiered doll platform. This is a long-standing custom. The 28th Hanging Hina Decorations Exhibition 🌞 January 20 (Monday) – March 31 (Monday) 🌞 🍑 In the Inatori area of Higashiizucho, there has been a custom since the Edo period of hanging a pair of suspended decorations on either side of the hina platform for the Girls’ Festival. 🍑 The Inatori Onsen hanging decorations have been passed down through generations. It is a "Hinamatsuri" event in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. At the former Yamamura family residence in the Hamasaki Denken district, a checkered doll called "Hoko-san" was also on display. "Hoko-san and Hoko dolls" are generally given to celebrate the first festival of a baby girl. In the past, they were dressed in maternity clothes, which were also given to the celebration, and decorated with Hina dolls. It seems like everyone is staring at you, and I'm a little intimidated.
