Autumn leaves in Gokasecho🍁 The autumn colors in Gokasecho have suddenly deepened over the past few days🍁 The foliage in front of Shirataki Falls in Kuraoka District is not fully colored yet, but overall the area is at peak color✨ I also visited Myoken Shrine and other spots in Kuraoka District; the maples there still need a bit more time to peak💡 Some areas will continue to change color, but how about a drive to see Gokase’s autumn leaves this weekend?😊 ⚠Notice⚠ The road to Shirataki is a forest road with poor conditions. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Amakusa area designation within Unzen-Amakusa National Park on July 20, 2026 (Reiwa 8), the two-day cycling event "Amaichi Grand Fond 2025: Around Amakusa" will be held 🚴 Grandfond, an Italian term for long-distance cycling events, is not about racing against the clock. Riders go at their own pace, enjoy rest stops and meals at aid stations, and take in spectacular views along the way. Event Overview Dates: Saturday, December 13, 2025 to Sunday, December 14, 2025 Location: Amakusa area, Kumamoto Prefecture (Amakusa City, Kamiamakusa City, Reihoku) Capacity: Up to 200 riders per day, 400 riders total over two days. Applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Courses: (1) Shimoshima Trial Course Saturday, December 13, 2025. Start and finish at Tomioka Port in Reihoku. A roughly 140 km route across Shimoshima Island (Amakusa City and Reihoku) for 30 experienced Amakusa cyclists. (2) Shimoshima Main Course Saturday, December 13, 2025. Start and finish at Tomioka Port in Reihoku. A roughly 80 km route across Shimoshima Island (Amakusa City and Reihoku) for 170 riders. (3) Kamishima Course Sunday, December 14, 2025. Start and finish at Kamiamakusa City Hall Himedo Regional Promotion Center. A roughly 80 km route across Amakusa Kamishima (Amakusa City and Kamiamakusa City) for 200 riders. [The 3rd "Amakusa Reihoku Literature Walk" Sightseeing Walking Route Creation Workshop was held in 🎊]

On September 25, the third Workshop was held in to formulate a sightseeing walking route to enjoy the "Literary Treasures of Reihoku" in order to make the Spots and heritage related to literature remaining in Reihoku Town a new Tourist Resource. ✨

Held in the third session on the theme of digging deeper into Literature related to Reihoku, and all the participants presented what they had researched with the intention of actually guiding each other. Each of the participants had a unique guide, and it was a 👏 time to fall in love with them

Held in ♪ the fourth and final Workshop from late October ~ early November

We are planning a fun Workshop to exchange opinions based on the walking route plan and guide manual created based on the contents of the WS so far, so please join 👀 us
* We plan to recruit participants on our website around the first half of October.

We are also looking for ideas and information from those who cannot participate in the workshop to formulate walking routes. Please cooperate with the questionnaire survey from the information column of our website!

On October 26, 2025, the Ontake-ryu Kagura Tournament was held in at Noba Park, "😊 Kagura no Sato" In addition to Ontake Kagura in Kiyokawa Town and the Kiyokawa Children's Kagura Preservation Society, four Kagura-za groups from inside and outside the prefecture gathered to dedication one Kagura. One of the highlights of the tournament is Kagura. 3 Kagura-za perform the same performance on three stages, and the encounter Kagura is Powerful. In the autumn sun, many Kagura fans visited the venue and enjoyed the brave and splendid dance. Ontake Kagura, which is transmitted to Kiyokawa in Bungo-Ono City, Oita Prefecture, is said to be a kagura that occurred in 1449 at the same time as the founding of Ontake Shrine. 【Amakusa Saikai 🍁 Autumn Kiln Tour Introduction of Participating Kilns / 06 Takahama Yakijuyoshi Kiln】

The "36th Amakusa Saikai Coast Autumn Kiln Tour" will be held in for 5 days from October 9 (Thu) ~ October 13 (Mon/holiday) at 6 kilns in Reihoku Town and Amakusa 😊 City
During the period, new works will be exhibited and sold at discounts, so please take this opportunity to visit and enjoy ♪ the scenery 🌊🌅 of Amakusa ceramics and the Amakusa Saikai coast

Introduction of participating potters/

If you go south along the Amakusa Saikai coast, you will reach the Takahama area. "Takahama Ware Juho Kiln" is a kiln that plays a part in the history of the Ueda family, which has served as a headman in this area for generations.

Cultivation of grapes flourished in the Takahama area during the Meiji era, and it was widely known as "Takahama grape". It was once said to be a "town covered with grapes", but although it was once on the verge of extinction, it has been revived thanks to the efforts of the local promotion association, and now you can see the scenery of the vineyards here and there in the area.

Speaking of "Takahama Yaki Juyoshi Kiln", the "Mirumon" patterned with seaweed is well known, but the history of Takahama is also alive in the painting of grapes. By the time of the autumn kiln tour, the grape harvest is already over, but it is also a pleasure to look at the grape designs on the vessels and think about the history of this land.

During the period, from October 9 (Thu) ~ October 12 (Sun), in addition to a Workshop by illustrator Koda Yoko, food, drinks and miscellaneous goods will be sold at the "Ueda Family Residence" adjacent to the Juho Kiln. Please see the posted image for details.

"Takahama Ware Juho Kiln" is a kiln that plays a part in the history of the Ueda family, which has served as a headman in this area for generations. Cultivation of grapes flourished in the Takahama area during the Meiji era, and it was widely known as "Takahama grape". It was once said to be a "town covered with grapes", but although it was once on the verge of extinction, it has been revived thanks to the efforts of the local promotion association, and now you can see the scenery of the vineyards here and there in the area. Speaking of "Takahama Yaki Juyoshi Kiln", the "Mirumon" patterned with seaweed is well known, but the history of Takahama is also alive in the painting of grapes. By the time of the autumn kiln tour, the grape harvest is already over, but it is also a pleasure to look at the grape designs on the vessels and think about the history of this land. Introduction of participating potters/

The Kozatoko area is located at the end of the road that turns south along the Amakusa Saikai coast and turns into the sea. "Amakusa Karatsu Township Kame Kiln" is built to overlook the calm seaside crowded with people enjoying diving and kayaking. Until now, it has been known as "Amakusa Karatsu Juro Kiln", but from this autumn, it has returned to its former name "Amakusa Karatsu Township Kame Kiln".

In the exhibition room, there are vessels that reflect the individuality of each couple. Her husband, Kameyama Township, Training in Karatsu, which is famous for Karatsu ware, and his wife, Kameyama Sanae, studied ceramics at the Ceramics College in Arita. Thereare, even in the same Saga prefecture, the pottery of Karatsu and Arita is "earth or stone" or "pottery or porcelain", and there is a big difference in the ingredients and characteristics.

Mr. Township's works are attractive for their captivating shapes and calm patterns of nature woven by earth and glaze. The lines drawn on the vessels, reminiscent of the classics peculiar to Karatsu ware, are infused with the "aesthetics of subtraction". Sanae, on the other hand, uses a blue pigment called gosu to create a modern and expressive painting by dyeing before glazing. There is a picture with a warm Traditional Japanese straw raincoat that makes your mouth smile involuntarily.

Two vessels that use opposite ingredients and have their own styles. Ingredients are all available in Amakusa. The exhibition room is lined with vessels nurtured by Amakusa's Nature, and there is a strangely rich harmony. Please pick it up and Please enjoy its world.
