[Activity Report] We held a rice planting monitoring tour at the Sky Terraced Rice Fields in Reihoku on April 19th.🧑‍🌾

Hello everyone, this is the Amakusa Reihoku Tourist Association.

On Sunday, April 19th, we conducted the "Reihoku Sky Terraced Rice Fields Rice Planting Monitoring Tour."
Although it was a light rain on the day, working in the fog-shrouded, magical rice terraces provided a deep and tranquil experience, different from sunny days.

■Experience the abundant "daily life of farmers"
During this tour, participants not only planted rice but also harvested fresh asparagus and experienced shiitake mushroom inoculation.
🌾Rice Planting: Enjoying the feel of the cold mud, step by step. Planting seedlings in the fog allowed for a pleasant concentration.
Asparagus Harvest: Picking the fresh asparagus on-site. The joy of harvesting blew away the fatigue of work.
🍄‍🟫Shiitake Inoculation: The sound of tapping on the wood echoed in the rainy rice terraces. We also experienced this long-lasting job while thinking about the harvest.

■Lunch time accompanied by the "sound of rain"
We enjoyed our lunch under the roof, with the sound of rain as our background music.

We will take the feedback from this monitoring tour to gradually implement various experience menus.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated, especially in the rain!

【Gathering of Kabu!】 The longest day of the year with the most sunlight. With the sunrise, about 20 Kabu riders set off from GA.KOPPER Ground. The "Geshi Kabu" event where Kabu riders gather on the summer solstice. This year marks the 5th edition! On Saturday, June 20th, the day before the solstice, Kabu began to arrive one after another from early afternoon, and familiar faces greeted each other with lively conversation. It was a bit chilly that day, with a misty rain falling. Even so, the chatter among the Kabu riders never ceased…! As a fire was lit behind GA.KOPPER, the Kabu riders naturally gathered around, enjoying a relaxing time with drinks in hand. At this year's Geshi Kabu, the word "Geshi" was seen everywhere, on T-shirts, sake barrels, and masu. Gathered around the fire, both Kabu and people formed a circle, sipping sake and savoring meat and vegetables. The loudest cheers erupted when the pizza baked in the earth oven was served. Instead of "Pizza Hut," the "Kabu Hut" delivered pizzas to participants on Kabu! 🍕 With our stomachs filled, we danced to the live performance of the Hokkaido Bon Dance and the Geshi Kabu Ondo, and gradually made our way into the room. The sunrise on the summer solstice was at 3:42 AM. Despite the fun, everyone had an early departure. Though we all started off together, we set off at our own pace in our desired directions. Thank you for joining us from all over the country! Let’s meet again at the next Geshi Kabu~ 👋 #Geshi Kabu #Kabu #GA.KOPPER #Geshi Bashiri

"Gyugyutto, a compact roundup of tourist information" At the recent Okhotsk Fair held at Chi-Ka-Ho we distributed an A4 double-sided summary of Nishiokoppe Village tourist information. Eat, stay, play, shop… I thought about what first-time visitors to Nishiokoppe Village would want to know and carefully selected information, so I decided to post it on social media too! 〇 Access Since the event venue was sapporo station I looked into travel options from sapporo station to Nishiokoppe Village. It takes about four to six hours by car 🚙 It’s a bit of a short road trip. There are gas stations in the village, so you can feel reassured if you come by car 🙌 〇 Eat, stay, play… Some facilities are open only in summer. In addition to the images, there are events and outdoor activities you can enjoy in nature. 〇 Souvenirs You can buy souvenirs not only at Roadside Station Kamu and Hotel Rimu but also at local shops. Some items are offered as hometown tax return gifts (furusato nozei) and some are available from online shops ✨ Hometown tax sites >> Satofull, Rakuten Furusato Nozei, Furusato Choice > Milk Design, which handles grass-fed milk > Seto Beef Farm, which grows and sells vegetables - Last year, Nishiokoppe Village released a new tourism pamphlet that provides more detailed introductions to each facility’s appeal and basic information. For general tourism inquiries, please feel free to contact the Nishiokoppe Village Tourist Information Center the Rizumu. 📞 0158-85-7125 📩 ni.kankouannai at mark gmail.com #Okhotsk #Access #Stay #Eat #Drink #Shop"

Vegiful Kitchen, the garden buffet restaurant inside Roadside Station Minami-Shinshu Toyooka Marche, run by the Toyooka Village Tourism Association, has been certified by the Japan Vegetable Sommelier Association! This is the second certified restaurant in Nagano Prefecture. To offer plenty of locally grown vegetables handpicked by vegetable professionals, local farmers ship fresh produce every morning! The ingredients used at Vegiful Kitchen are mainly vegetables and fruits grown in Toyooka Village. Because we source directly from village farmers, the vegetables and fruits we use change with the seasons. Sourcing what tastes best each day lets you enjoy produce that is ultra-fresh, safe, and secure. Our food coordinator devises the dishes that best suit each ingredient at that time. The “garden” in our garden buffet refers to the farms of local farmers in Toyooka Village and neighboring towns and villages. When guests enjoy lots of fresh, delicious local ingredients, it motivates the farmers. Please come and enjoy Vegiful Kitchen, a healthy buffet restaurant that delights customers and farmers alike and helps energize the community!

Nukazuke Workshop🥕 A "Nukazuke Workshop" was held to showcase local ingredients and inspire new ideas for processing them.💡 Under the guidance of Rieko Teramoto, who is from Gokase, participants first tasted the nukazuke prepared yesterday.🥢 There were 18 varieties in total!! Familiar vegetables like cucumber, carrot, and daikon sat alongside new flavor discoveries such as dried shiitake, konnyaku, and myoga.👀✨ Next, Teramoto demonstrated how to prepare the nuka bed in front of everyone, teaching about moisture levels and other details.📝 She then shared ready-to-use nuka beds for participants to take home, and everyone immediately began pickling the vegetables they had brought.😊 They said the pickles should be ready in about 12 hours, and everyone left excited to eat their creations, carefully taking their own nuka beds home.🥰 I can’t wait to try the nukazuke made by the participants next time.😍

While walking through fields normally closed to the public, you will hear about the careful methods used to grow beans and take part in everyday farm work. You will also create an original spice blend that pairs well with beans, and prepare onigiri, an essential part of Japanese food culture, for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit a vegetable farm and experience crops from a farmer’s perspective. In the evening, you will assemble hamburgers using a range of vegetables and compare the flavors of fried potatoes made from different potato varieties, a signature local product. Here are some recommended eco-friendly tours. This is a two-day, one-night trip where you can experience organic farming that is gentle on the environment and your body. You will visit wine producers and farmers who practise organic farming, and see their farms where they grow their produce with care and attention, relying on the power of nature without using any chemical fertilisers or pesticides. You will enjoy tasting different organic wines and lunch and dinner made with plenty of vegetables, and experience the difference in flavour. Accommodation is in ‘glamping,’ a unique outdoor experience in Tokachi. The next day, you will create eco-friendly upcycled products using discarded vegetable peels and participate in traditional Japanese paper-making. This organic experience offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on the environment and health. We aim for participants to connect with producers they wouldn't normally meet, learn about the care and thought behind the ingredients, and savour the distinctive flavours of these foods. Through this experience, we hope participants will gain new insights and values, leading to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. Those interested may apply via the URL below.
