[Currently in Production] This year at the Woody Summer School, participants will be creating wooden tractors. The summer Woody School is like a 2-night, 3-day camp focused on making wooden crafts. This marks the 32nd edition of the event this year, which has been loved by many for many years. The woodworking instructor is currently making parts for the participants to use. In fact, it seems that one instructor is making parts for 20 tractors all by himself! 😳 Last year, we solidified ideas for this year's project and by December, we had produced a prototype. After fine-tuning while looking at the prototype, the drawings were completed by March this year, and in April, they were beautifully drafted in CAD. Since May, we have been in the process of making parts. Many innovations have been implemented to create parts with precision, and we were shown how this round contour is cut using this tool. The molds used for making wooden parts are also made of wood. The rounded board was created by gluing together four thin boards and applying pressure to bend them. We were constantly amazed by the skillful manipulation of various tools to create intricate parts during the workshop tour. 【Gathering of Kabu!】 The longest day of the year with the most sunlight. With the sunrise, about 20 Kabu riders set off from GA.KOPPER Ground. The "Geshi Kabu" event where Kabu riders gather on the summer solstice. This year marks the 5th edition! On Saturday, June 20th, the day before the solstice, Kabu began to arrive one after another from early afternoon, and familiar faces greeted each other with lively conversation. It was a bit chilly that day, with a misty rain falling. Even so, the chatter among the Kabu riders never ceased…! As a fire was lit behind GA.KOPPER, the Kabu riders naturally gathered around, enjoying a relaxing time with drinks in hand. At this year's Geshi Kabu, the word "Geshi" was seen everywhere, on T-shirts, sake barrels, and masu. Gathered around the fire, both Kabu and people formed a circle, sipping sake and savoring meat and vegetables. The loudest cheers erupted when the pizza baked in the earth oven was served. Hoshino Resort Tomamu is home to Unkai Terrace. As a popular tourist spot, it attracts travelers from all over the country and the world during the summer vacation period. Until last year, it was common to see long lines starting from midnight in front of the lift station, and even after the gondola service began, people often had to wait over an hour to board. This season, the gondola has switched to a reservation system starting from the evening before, allowing guests to ride with almost no waiting time, making it significantly easier. However, since the sea of clouds is a natural phenomenon, you won't know if you can see it unless you actually go to the site at dawn.
