When humans team up with nature to create something, it becomes more intriguing. The Lake Shikotsu ice festival is a perfect example of this. Hokkaido's crystal clear water lake serves as the primary source for crafting marvelous ice sculptures.

Nature creates some of the astonishing wonders just like this. This huge snow wall is breathtakingly stunning. This time I visited lake shikotsu ice festival. Amazingly beautiful.

Otaru snow lantern path festivals is a very famous winter tourist spot in hokkaido. Many many local people worked volunteerily to maintain the beauty of the pathway. The canal also illuminated during the festival. Its one of my memorable trip to hokkaido.

Want to try gold panning in Taiki Town? Gold panning, recently talked about because of the hit movie Golden Kamuy, can still be experienced the old-fashioned way on the Rekifune River in Taiki Town! The peak period for gold recovery on the Rekifune River is said to have been from the 1890s into the Taisho era, roughly the same time when the bullion battles in Golden Kamuy take place. Taiki Town also provided some cooperation for the movie’s gold panning scenes. See if you can spot Taiki Town in the end credits! Spectacular View at Tokachigawa Onsen: Unryu Unryu is a river mist that appears on frigid mornings in January and February when temperatures drop below −15°C. It came to be called “Unryu” because the fog rising along the flow of the Tokachi River looks like a dragon stretching and resting. You can view this scene from the Tokachigaoka Observatory. This breathtaking sight is visible only in winter! This year is the Year of the Dragon—come to Tokachigawa Onsen to see Unryu!
