Matsumoto Castle Nagano Many people are fascinated by the black-based castle tower. I investigated where it would be cool to take a picture of the castle tower. Of course, please note that it may change depending on the time of day. For example, if you take a photo of a castle with the setting sun in the background, it will be backlit, and the castle with a black tone will be blacker, making it difficult to express the details of the castle. The inside of the castle after entering from the Kuromon gate was excluded from the scope of the spot because it is charged and the time is limited. From the vicinity of Ninomaru on the east side and the vicinity of Matsumoto Shrine in the north, there are many trees in the foreground in the angle, and I think it is not suitable for photos centered on the castle tower. 4 recommendations 1 From near the foundation stone of the Taiko Gate Take this photo with the castle tower on the right in front of the Kuromon Gate and the Alps mountains in the background. 2 From the northwest of the park The castle tower with the red bridge in front 3 From the south side Image of the castle tower and Tatsumi Turret taken from the side 4 Take a picture from the southwest corner across the moat The southwest corner of the castle tower looks three-dimensional. Depending on the time of day and weather, you can take a picture of the castle tower reflecting on the moat. It is a castle that you should definitely visit after Corona.

The night feast of the Nagara River flowing along Gifu Castle, where Oda Nobunaga departed from Tenkafubu. This dance boat serves as a prelude to the start of the Gifu Nagara River Ukai, and performs the Noryo dance on weekends from summer to autumn. Last year, unfortunately, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, dancers wore face shields. I want the Coronavirus pandemic to end as soon as possible and return to the summer bustle of the Nagara River.

Awesome! The cherry blossoms here are so bountiful! I like the sign as well. I've always wondered how these signs are made actually. It kind of looks like woodburning but at the same time I'm not so sure if that's the case. Either way, looks cool! I've not heard of Shingu Castle until now, but it looks like it was one of the castles torn down in the Meiji Period. From my understanding they're working to restore it so I wonder how it's coming along. I like visiting ruins though, so maybe before they finish rebuilding it I can make my way over there to see them lol. Obviously I'd like to see the restoration, but ruins are just as cool in my opinion. They have their own uniqueness to them!

Wow! I know Himeji has some awesome things like Himeji Castle of course, but to just find this while going for a walk, how cool is that! Speaking of Himeji Castle, I wish I could have see nthe projection mapping event they had there in 2015? I think it was. Hopefully they do something like that again because I'd love to go and see it for myself. I envy anyone who got to see it in person😂 I really like the stone lanterns and small Buddhist statues in this photo as well, it really gives that temple feel. I'll have to be on the lookout for this place when I visit Himeji!

Awesome! The samurai residences of Kakunodate were awesome when I went there. The cherry blossoms were really amazing as well. Along the river and all along the houses. I remember I talked to one of the local shopkeepers here for a minute and it was really nice. There's supposed to be castle ruins somewhere near the town as well but I didn't get a chance to see them. This is a great place to visit in the spring for anyone curious. I highly recommend checking it out. Be careful of the big green spiders though, lol. I think they're probably harmless but they are quite surprising...

Tsuruga Castle in Fukushima! I'd heard of its white walls before, but it looks like winter is doing its best to make it completely white! Apparently Tsuruga Castle was designed after Kurokawa Castle that was sieged some time during the 1,500's. I wonder if the color scheme is true to Kurokawa Castle. It'd be interesting to know if there was some sort of tactical reason for an all-white castle. In a snowy region I could see it acting as a sort of camouflage but who knows. You can also barely see what looks like a shachihoko on the roof if you zoom in which is pretty neat. Apparently the inside of the castle has some mannequins set up with guns showing how the arrow-slits, or in this case gun-slits, would have been used. There's also other mannequins that show them being used for rock dropping as well. Warfare has come a long way since then😂

What a great read! The ruins of these castles are amazing. Just looking at them I can feel the history and historical importance of each location. I liked the bit about Lady Otsuya as well. I love that you can go almost anywhere in Japan and there's hundreds or even thousands of years worth of history to be discovered. I don't think it's a stretch to say that perhaps the ruins are more interesting than the castles themselves, albeit not quite as beautiful lol. Although the nature surrounding these ruins is also a thing of beauty. It's easy to understand why these places are considered the treasures of Gifu!
