Fukoji Hydrangeas ❚ Bloom status as of June 24, 2025 Fukoji sits in Asaji Town, Bungoono City. It is also famous as a hydrangea sightseeing spot. Overall, the hydrangeas have just passed their peak. Some of the earlier flowers have begun to wither. This year there are fewer blooms than usual, but the later-blooming flowers are beautifully open. We will report on the bloom status as it changes. Location: Kamiotsuka, Asaji Town, Bungoono City, Oita Prefecture Access: about a 10-minute drive from JR Asaji Station Parking: available (free) Restrooms: available ❚ Fukoji The cliff-carved Buddha on the temple grounds, including its pedestal, measures about 11 meters tall, making it one of Japan’s largest cliff Buddhas. The central, enormous figure is Fudo Myoo, the Immovable Wisdom King. Fudo Myoo normally appears fierce, with an angry expression, but years of wind and rain have rounded its features into a gentle, softened face. Though large, this Fudo Myoo has a very approachable presence. Fukoji is also known as “Hydrangea Temple” because so many hydrangeas are planted there. During the rainy season you can see numerous hydrangea blooms together with the cliff Buddha. The hydrangeas are cared for by the temple and local residents. ■■■ Access from central Bungoono City ■■■ From JR Hakata Station, Fukuoka Prefecture: about a 3-hour drive From JR Kumamoto Station, Kumamoto Prefecture: about a 2-hour drive From JR Beppu Station, Oita Prefecture: about a 1 hour 20 minute drive From JR Yufuin Station, Oita Prefecture: about a 1 hour 20 minute drive ■■■■■■■■■■■■ Introducing tourism and recommended spots in Kyushu, Bungo-Ono, Oita Prefecture ■■■■■■■■■■■■

Our Village Beautification Project Saturday, June 14 We carried out our annual Our Village Beautification Project. Everyone from local businesses to nursery children and adults planted marigold seedlings along the roadside. About an hour before the meeting a heavy rain shower passed, and after it stopped the temperature and humidity gradually rose, so it was the kind of day when you worked up a sweat. Some people dug holes, some placed pots, and some buried the seedlings… we divided the tasks and diligently planted flowers in our assigned areas. Under the flag celebrating the village's 100th anniversary, neatly planted marigolds and pansies are once again brightening the road this year. May they grow tall and strong. #Nishiwakkanai Village #Hokkaido #Our Village Beautification Project #Flower Planting #Marigolds #Pansies #June 14 #Flowers #Nature #Setoushi-kun Polo Shirt

🌴 Good Access from Tokyo! Day trip diving tour🛳️ on Hatsushima Hello, I'm Hokule'a Shonan! 😊 This time, we Held in a Day trip tour at Hatsushima, a popular diving spot in the suburbs of Tokyo. Hatsushima is a small island with good Access, located about 30 minutes by ferry from Atami Port in Kanagawa Prefecture. From Our store (Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture), it takes 🚗🛳️ about 1 hour and 30 minutes by Car and ferry Transportation time is short, so even short travel schedules make it easy to visit. 🌊 Leisurely diving experience in crystal clear waters On this day, the weather was good and the sea was clear, so I was able ☀️ to swim comfortably in the bright water In the waters of Hatsushima, you can enjoy a variety of fish from shallow to deep and rocky terrain. Even for those who are new to diving, the conditions were calm so that they could experience it with peace of mind. 🐟 Spot where you can meet popular fish During the tour, we also met the Famous "Kobudai" on Hatsushima. With its large body and distinctive face, this fish can come very close to divers Soba. In addition, the rocky terrain and the way the light enters are beautiful, making it a 📸 recommended point for taking photos in the water Shooting in bright water is a chance for even first-timers to take beautiful shots. 🤿 A safe environment and support system for beginners Transportation is very smooth as the dive site on Hatsushima Island can be accessed immediately after getting off the ferry. There are many days with few waves, and entry and exit are stable. It is also recommended for those who have just taken the Sense and have not dived for a while. At Hokule'a Shonan, even beginners in diving can enjoy it with peace of mind. We offer small-group tours and attentive support. 🏝️ "Sea of islands" that can be enjoyed even in a short time Even in the midst of a busy schedule, you can refresh your mood by exercising in nature and looking at the beautiful sea. "I want to have a little adventure on a day trip" "I want to experience the sea near Tokyo" This is the perfect tour for you. 📍 Hokule'a Shonan (Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture) 🚉 30 seconds walk from JR Hiratsuka Station South Exit 🅿️ Car parking available, English support OK, PADI 5 star registered store 💬 For inquiries and tour reservations, please feel free to visit the official website or Instagram! #HatsushimaIsland #IslandTripFromTokyo #ScubaDivingJapan #TokyoDayTrip #JapanTravelTips #BestOfJapan #UnderwaterAdventure #KanagawaDiving #HiddenGemsJapan #HokuleaShonan #PADI5Star #DiveJapan #EcoTravelJapan #OceanRetreat

Hydrangeas are beginning to bloom Hydrangeas, the flower that symbolizes the rainy season, are starting to bloom across Gokasecho 🤗✨ (Photo: Kuwanochi area) From pale blue to deep blue, pink and purple… Their round shapes draped in refreshing colors look utterly charming 🥰 The lacecap hydrangeas also show a delicate beauty, like quiet sparklers 😌 We saw many bushes that haven’t bloomed yet, so they should continue to delight us for a while ✨ Rain is forecast again from tomorrow, but isn’t viewing hydrangeas dotted with raindrops a rather poetic pleasure 😆? This season can easily bring people down, so let’s find small joys and keep our spirits up 💪✨

Planting in a Large Pot In Nishiokoppe, Sato Yuka of onesmanorgarden, who has become a familiar face here, was invited as the instructor for a container-planting workshop! This time, the plan was to display the arrangements at village facilities, so we planted as many as 15 kinds of flowers and foliage in a large pot. Unlike the gathering-style design we learned last year, container planting simply involves removing plants from their pots, arranging them in the planter, leveling the soil, and the arrangement is finished in no time. Before taking them out of their pots, we first laid them out to expand our ideas. Because the pot has a pattern, we imagined which side might be the front and how to make the arrangement attractive from every angle, then decided on the placement. Once the image was clear, we planted from the center outward and built the surrounding heights to match. If the soil surface is not even, water will collect in the low spots when you water, or so we were told. As I planted each one, I filled gaps with soil as needed and continued working. Experienced participants, even with large pots, finished their arrangements in about 30 minutes with a flurry of activity. (Too fast…!) The finished pots are installed in both Kamiokoppe and Nishiokoppe. Although each pot used the same materials, individual personalities shine through, so it might be fun to compare them. #Nishiokoppe Village #Hokkaido #Container-Planting Workshop #Village in Full Bloom #Kamu #Flower Park #Flowers #Nature

Hello everyone! This is the Minami Town Tourism Association. During the rainy season, there were many sunny days, and the past week has been very hot. Here in Minami Town, the extremely hot days continued with a record of 30 degrees Celsius. In the coming season when you want to seek "coolness", we will introduce recommended Nature Spots! This is "Ebisu Cave"! Located about 1.5 kilometers north of the Ohama Coast and about 5 minutes by car, Ebisu Cave is a large sea erosion cave. As a result of the erosion of the interior of the Iwayama (rocky mountain) at an elevation of 52 Meters jutting out into the Pacific Ocean, a large semicircle with a diameter of 30 Meters and a depth of 40 Meters opened up. The cave is inhabited by the "Rock Swallow", which is designated as a "town bird" and is a town-designated natural monument. At the top of the Iwayama (rocky mountain)Observation decks and you can see the majestic Pacific Ocean, and beside it is the Ebisu-dong Shrine, which prays for the happiness of husband and wife. Ebisu Cave Splash of water flashily while emitting a Roaring Sound when the waves rush in. Please visit us in search of the "coolness" brought by Nature! !! * The road to the entrance of Ebisu Cave is narrow and Gari winding, so please pay attention to traffic when visiting. * The Promenade leading to Ebisu-dong is a steep staircase and slope, so please be careful of your feet.

Making seabed Aged wine on a sunken ship|Special tour Held in in Higashi-Izu and Irisawa! Hello, I'm Hokule'a Shonan! This time, we successfully held in 😊 our special project, "Making Aged Wine on the Sea Floor in Sunken Ships" This time, the wine was sunk in a sunken ship at a depth of -24 meters in water in Irisawa in Higashi-Izu. In fact, it is said that the origin of "seabed Aged wine" is an old wine that was accidentally discovered in a sunken ship. The swaying waves, the quiet environment, the shading and the constant water temperature created an ideal aged environment for the wines. We Reproduction the "Submarine Cellar" this time! The specially prepared bottles were sealed with sealing wax and the carefully prepared wine was transported to the sea. The space inside the wreck is "just the right size" as if it was prepared for this wine. The scenery peeking out from the side was truly fantastic, and it was a scenery that made me feel somewhat "romantic". Thank you to everyone who participated on this day! In particular, There is a 🍷✨ to Mr. Kobayashi of Hiratsuka's wine bar Binot, who has given us a great deal of cooperation from the planning stage this time The wine will be raised six months later, in December. At this year's Christmas party, a special one that has been quietly Aged on the seabed will appear in front of you. What does it taste like? I can't stop being excited! At Hokule'a Shonan, it will not end with "just a diving experience" from now on. We would like to propose a "little special sea trip". ▼Special thanks Instagram @shobuzawa_diving (Irisawa Diving Center) @winestore_sakae_binot (Wine Bar Binot) Information on upcoming tours and events will be introduced on the official Instagram and blog from time to time, so be sure to check it out! #SeaAgedWine #UnderwaterCellar #WineDive #OceanAging #WreckDive #HokuleaShonan #DiveJapan #UniqueExperiences #WineLovers #UnderwaterAdventure
