Some of the colors were so vibrant as well, it was really nice. The park was nice and quiet and while it was a bit chilly outside, it was a nice chance to get some fresh air. Been busy lately and haven’t been able to go out as much because of it, so this was a nice change of pace

Almost every spot from where Fujisan is visible seems picturesque to me whether it is my workplace or rooftop of my home or any tourist spot. I visited matsuda herb garden in last Spring and it was 1st trip to matsuda but this trip was unforgettable. The scenic beauty of mount fuji framed with cherry blossom looks so beautiful. It's was very picturesque and scenic spot.

Today, I would like to introduce "umestagram" post "Gotokuji Temple in Tokyo". It's a cute photo of the beckoning cats with simple expressions. Gotokuji Temple, which is related to Maneki-neko, is located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo in the Kanto region. A long time ago, Naotaka Ii, the lord of the Hikone clan, was beckoned by a cat in the temple on his way home from falconry and went inside, and suddenly a thunderclap came. The episode that he was able to avoid difficulties thanks to the cat and also enjoyed talking with Kazuhisa is the origin of "Maneki Neko's Birthplace". In the wake of this, Godeji Temple was revived in the 10th year of Kanei 1633 with the support of Ii Naotaka. At Godeji Temple, the beckoning cat is called "Maneki Neko". In the "Shofukuden" in the precincts, various sizes of Shofuku cat children are dedicated, and the sight is breathtaking. On November 19 Sat and 20 Sun, 2022, the "Hachioji Ichō Festival" was held mainly on the Koshu Kaido in Hachioji City, Tokyo! Led by citizens, Sekisho orienteering, tourist product exhibitions, shops such as the Hometown Bazaar, and a classic car parade were held. Although the scale of the festival was smaller than usual, many people enjoyed the popular festival of Hachioji.

[English/Japanese] A 15-minute walk from Hachioji Station, I bought a “Hachioji Castle Monaka” at the Japanese sweets shop Senshuen. In fact, there was a castle in Hachioji in the 16th century. This “Hachioji Castle Monaka” is a confection shaped like the castle that stood then. The monaka is filled with sweet red bean paste and was delicious 😊 By the way, Hachioji Castle no longer exists, but the site where the castle once stood is now a park. I would like to visit it with my students someday. A 15-minute walk from Hachioji Station, I bought a “Hachioji Castle Monaka” at the wagashi shop Senshuen. Actually, there was a castle in Hachioji in the 16th century. This “Hachioji Castle Monaka” is a sweet shaped like the castle that stood at that time. The monaka is firmly filled with anko (a sweet paste made from beans) and was very tasty 😊 By the way, Hachioji Castle is no longer there, but the place where the castle used to be is now a park. I’d like to go there with my students someday.

I went to the rooster market in Hachioji with some of my students! There is an Otori Shrine about a five-minute walk from Hachioji Station. I was moved by the lucky, ornate decorations. The shopkeepers calling out auspicious phrases to customers who bought them felt like a slice of Japanese culture, and the students were very excited. On the way home, we bought the market specialty, kirisansho—rice cakes coated with a spice called sansho. They were delicious. There are two more rooster fairs to come. We hope you will visit the rooster market as well. I went to the rooster market in Hachioji with my students! Otori Shrine sits about a five-minute walk from Hachioji Station. I was impressed by the auspicious and lavish decorations. The shopkeepers shouting good-luck calls to customers felt like authentic Japanese culture, and the students were thrilled. On the way home, we bought the market’s specialty, kirisansho (rice cakes dusted with a spice called sansho). It tasted very good. Two more rooster fairs remain. The photo shows Dorayaki from Dorayaki Specialty Shop Makana, a very popular spot in Hachioji. Dorayaki is known among international students as Doraemon's favorite food. This dorayaki was delicious, with fluffy batter and a gently sweet red bean paste 😊.

Amazing city view from the skytree. Tokyo city looks so beautiful in the night time. In order to see this kind of cityscapes I visited several observations decks in Tokyo like Tokyo tower, Fuji tv tower in Odaiba, skytree, mori tower. This photo was taken from the tokyo skytree tembo deck. I really love to enjoy the cityscape.

[Englsih／日本語] Cafe Kojika is a 10-minute walk from Hachioji Station. The interior of Cafe Kojika is decorated in a 1970s style, so you can enjoy a meal inside an old Japanese house. Most items cost a single coin, and they were very tasty 😊 My top recommendation is the cream soda. You can have a juice made in your favorite color. Many international students want to try a homestay. However, because of the coronavirus, they have no chance to do a homestay, so I recommend this kind of old-house cafe to such students. A ten-minute walk from Hachioji Station, Cafe Kojika recreates a 1970s interior so you can dine in the atmosphere of an old Japanese home. Many menu items are priced at one coin, and the food was very good 😊 The cream soda is my number-one pick, and they will make a juice in whatever color you like. Many exchange students are eager to experience homestay life. But with the coronavirus preventing homestays, I suggest this sort of traditional house cafe to those students.

There are so many autumn viewing spots all over Japan and Tokyo is not a different kind. Actually in Tokyo there are so many autumn viewing spots. One my favourite spot in Tokyo is Showa memorial park. The autumn color is very gorgeous here and the reflection on the water color makes it better. Almost everyone took photos from this spot. In this photo one amused person is trying capture the autumn colors.
