Hinata Yakushi Hojobo First Yakushi Opening of the Principal Image 2025
On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the Hatsuyakushi ceremony was held at Hinata Yakushi, counted as one of Japan’s Three Yakushi, to pray for a year of good health and household safety.
On the temple grounds, visitors were served yakushi-gayu, a medicinal rice porridge made with vegetables and rice cakes produced in Isehara City, and many worshippers attended.
The principal image, the nationally designated Important Cultural Property of the Yakushi Triad, is unveiled only on five days each year: this Hatsuyakushi day, the first three days of the New Year, and the spring annual festival.

If you missed this opportunity, please come to the last unveiling of the year on April 15, the spring annual festival, which also features the sacred-tree-climbing ritual where yamabushi begin their mountain training from Hinata.

The Echizen Coast is one of the three major cluster of trees in Japan*, with an area of 60~70ha, the largest cluster of trees in Japan. When it is in full bloom, a carpet of pretty white Carpet of flowers Unfolds all over the steep slopes along the Coast.

3. Rishigahira Park

The Isehara City Tourism Association officially launched today.

Winter Mount Oyama ✨ Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays from January 11 to January 26, 2025 ✨
This winter, for seven days only, the Oyama Cable Car line will be illuminated and operate night services with views until 7:00 PM.
On Sunday, January 12, the Oyama Sky Lantern® will be launched from Oyama Afuri Shrine Lower Shrine at 4:30 PM, and popular characters Kururin, Kanamin, and Mokoron will appear on rotating weekends (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).

The view from Oyama Afuri Shrine Lower Shrine was awarded two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The nightscape seen through the clear winter air is indescribably beautiful and captivating.
Please take this opportunity to join the many events.

※If you plan to aim for the summit of Mount Oyama, start early to allow plenty of time. The public restroom at the summit may be temporarily unavailable due to freezing, so please use restrooms in advance.

Today was Tsubetsu Town's New Year fire brigade review!
Held every January 5th, members of the Tsubetsu Fire Station and the Tsubetsu Fire Corps gathered together in full force. Even the fire engines were on display like this—quite a spectacle✨
Last year, Tsubetsu Town recorded zero fire responses. We want everyone in town to stay vigilant so we can keep that number at zero again this year💪

Fire Department New-Year Review Ceremony

Today, Sunday, January 5, the fire brigade held its New-Year review ceremony at the Town Hall Parking Lot 🚒✨

The car thermometer read minus 4°C as we headed to the scene 😂 It was a freezing ceremony ❄️
Although I was fully bundled up and cheekily stood near the heater to take photos…

The firefighters formed ranks with a poised, unfazed bearing that made them look truly impressive…👏

The squad training demonstration showed sharp, disciplined movements born of daily practice, which was extremely reassuring 🥹✨

The mass water discharge that followed sent colorful columns of water high into the sky and was incredibly powerful 🤩

They moved a fair distance to prepare before the discharge, and thanks to everyone’s perfectly synchronized, efficient actions it proceeded smoothly; I’m truly grateful for the fire brigade’s daily efforts 🙇‍♀️！

The ceremony concluded without issue after awards were presented to firefighting personnel, brigade members, distinguished contributors to firefighting, and families who support the brigade 🏆💫

To the fire brigade, who always protect our town and keep residents safe in their daily lives, thank you so much ✨

Tsukigase Plum Valley lets you take in at a glance the plum blossoms and the gorge, with the plum seen as the harbinger of spring.
Designated a Place of Scenic Beauty in 2020 and now marking 100 years, the Tsukigase Tourism Association, together with local residents, works to preserve this wonderful plum gorge so everyone can enjoy it.

The “Tsukigase Plum Valley Plum Festival,” starting on February 9, opens with the 40th Tsukigase Plum Valley Early Spring Marathon on its first day and runs through a variety of events up to the Spring Banquet on March 23, with preparations underway to welcome everyone.

We ask that you visit Tsukigase Plum Valley, which we have spent a year preparing, and offer this as our New Year greeting.

Matsuura Whitebait & Tiger puffer fish gourmet fair is being held in! !️

Held in a gourmet fair where restaurants and accommodations in the city offer dishes using the ultra-rare Matsuura "whitebait" that is caught only during this period and the aquaculture "Tiger puffer fish" that boasts the largest production in No.1 in Japan.

Each restaurant offers elaborate menus such as Kaisen Donburi using "raw whitebait", which is rare in Kyushu, pasta and rice bowls of "kamaage whitebait" with outstanding texture and flavor, and course meal of Tiger puffer fish.

【Hayakawa Meitoshi: Kominka Cafe Locksmith】
Spend time around the sunken hearth while feeling the slow stream of time and the tranquility of Okuyama, a locksmith in the northernmost village of Hayakawa Town!
【Meals】The menu focuses on local production for local consumption, such as fresh pasta made with homemade miso, curry and stewed tomatoes made with Deer meat from the In the town. In Showa 35, it was designated as a Yamanashi Prefecture Cultural Property (Ethnic Documents) as a "living tool of Narada".

【Mononoke Musume】Open to the public! !!
The comedy manga "Mononoke no Musume" set here in Hayakawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, was opened to the public on April 25 this year.
It is planned by "Town Hayakawa Town with a small No.1 in Japan population", and three companies, Town hall Hayakawa Town and Hayakawa Tourism Association, and the Southern Alps hometown Revitalization Foundation, are collaborating to plan and produce the work.
In the story, you will also see the history and lore of the Towns, Sightseeing spots and facilities of Tourist Association members! Spot may be familiar to you.
On the official "Mononoke no Musume" Official website, up to 15 episodes (as of 12/28) are being opened to the public. Please take a look!

Illuminations of the Hayakawa Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division this winter.
This year as well, the night along the prefectural road in front of the town hall is lively colored.
