Today I’m introducing Papperburg, a very famous café in Hachioji. The café features interior design inspired by southern Germany and offers delicious coffee and desserts. I had the seasonal parfait this time. Beyond its artistic appearance, the parfait’s multiple layers of jelly and cream enhance the flavor of the seasonal fruits. A professor from Tama Art University designed the interior, so you’ll find lovely details no matter where you sit. You can take a bus from Hachioji Station. It’s a bit far from the station, but it’s a café worth visiting at least once!

Kino no Mori Coffee A coffee shop next to Hapio Kino, supervised by morihico. Many of the ingredients used in the menu are local, and some of the products are available for purchase at Hapio. Tables and chairs are spaced out in an open setting, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The photos show Pizza Aligo, a hazelnut latte, and Napolitan. They are served in skillets, so they arrive piping hot and very tasty! Next time I want to try the hamburger as well 🤤 Address: 6-1 KinoOdoriNishi, Otofuke Town, Kato District, Hokkaido Hours: Weekdays 10:00–19:00, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10:00–20:00 Closed during the New Year holidays

Kominka cafe 'cafe jorro' I enjoyed pancakes and cold-brew iced coffee. Every menu item is tempting, from curry and cakes made mainly with local ingredients to dishes prepared without chemical seasonings. They use coffee beans from Morihiko in Sapporo, and both the pancakes and the coffee were absolutely delicious. The shop's atmosphere and the food were both superb.✨ Address: 1-11 Kino Shinmachi, Otofuke, Kawato-gun, Hokkaido Hours: 11:00–17:00 Closed: Sunday

Was walking through Shimokitazawa the other day and found some really cool street art on the shutter of some shop or something not really sure what the building was. Just thought it was cool to see this. Don't see much street art in Japan, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as usually it involves vandalism, but this doesn't look to be vandalism, although I could be wrong. Either way I think it's a nice improvement to the empty shutters and definitely adds a little spice to the area. Aesthetically I'm a huge fan since I enjoy learning about Japanese history, especially samurai, swords, etc., even if this is a fantastical rendition of the likes you'd find in some anime or manga. Shimokitazawa is a pretty cool place though. It seems like a lot of younger people go shopping in the area and there's a lot of restaurants as well. If you're into coffee, cafes, and unique shops with trinkets, etc. it's an enjoyable place to visit. Really trendy

Went to やなか珈琲 and bought some coffee beans this weekend. I did not know why the beans were green, but it seems it’s because they have not been roasted yet and they roast them after they are ordered. I came back to the shop in 20 minutes and they had turned brown from being roasted and smelled really good. I tried ブルボン from Brazil and they taste really good! They have many kinds of beans so I wanna try different kinds next time and also sit down for a cup of coffee in the shop itself☕️

Went to Shinjuku over the weekend and found a really awesome plaza with an open-style food court that had several different shops inside of it. I was kind of craving some tacos or something ethnic at the time so I went and got a burrito at "Chronic Tacos" because it looked really tasty. It's kind of a "build-your-own burrito" system which is nice. You can choose the type of meat you want in your burrito I chose spicy pork and and other toppings I think. I also added guacamole to mine. You can add it on the side or have it put into the burrito as well. I wanted to try a taco as well but since there were other restauraunts I grabbed two slices of pizza at a place called "Cucinova." The pizza tasted great, and the spicy slice that I got had the perfect amount of spicyness! The food was definitely great at both places, although maybe the burrito was a bit expensive. I think it was ¥1200 for a drink and the burrito. They could probably make it a little cheaper, although Mexican cuisine always seems to be a bit expensive in Japan. Maybe it has to do with ingredients. Not sure though. Overall, I definitely recommend checking it out. They've got a coffee place as well and while I didn't get a coffee from there the scones looked pretty tasty! I think there was a bar as well if you're looking to grab some drinks with a friend.

I managed to get a good workout in today as well. I can already feel my stomach muscles starting to get sore. I found a pretty decent coffee today. Decided to try something besides a black coffee today. Still a Boss coffee but it has a pretty low sugar content and doesn't taste too sweet or too bitter. Considering trying a new one tomorrow but this one was quite good so I might just be drinking this from now on. I want to keep my options open but it's hard to keep searching once you find something good. I found a photo that I forgot to upload before. I visited the Edo Tokyo Museum and outside there was a statue of Tokugawa Ieyasu riding a turtle lol... It's probably one of the more interesting statues I've seen in Japan but I suppose it symbolizes power and longevity, which Ieyasu certainly had both of.

I got another good workout done today. Just gotta keep at it. I was hoping to see Blue Impulse today but I didn't see them anywhere overhead and didn't manage to hear any jets in the air either. I saw a lot of photos being posted on social media though so that was pretty cool. I'm looking forward to checking out the Paralympics though, hopefully it gets good coverage on tv. I'm not really a coffee drinker but lately I've been trying different coffees from the local convenience store in an attempt to find one that I like. I tried the Boss coffee today since I always see commercials for it and it seems to be pretty popular, but it seemed a bit watery to me so I think I'm going to have to keep searching. If anyone has any coffee recommendations for me I'd love to hear them lol
