Photographed on March 1, 2014. After the monthly ceremony at Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine, I relaxed at Starbucks Kanetsuki‑dōri Store. I had an Earl Grey bouquet and a tea latte, and an Earl Grey Basque cheesecake.

This is a shot capturing the vibrant duet of mimosa and cherry blossoms blooming within the grounds of Kuramae Shrine in Taitoku, Tokyo Metropolis. A lush stand of mimosa fills the foreground while the cherry blossoms in the background are softly blurred, giving the whole frame depth and a rich density of color. I emphasize the joyous contrast of yellow and pink that signals spring’s arrival, conveying the shrine’s pure atmosphere alongside the energetic radiance of life in spring.

My first visit to Japan turned magical when I found a lone Sakura at the entrance to Ueno Park, blooming early on the first day of March. Locals, tourists, people of all ages, and even birds were enjoying the symbol of Spring. To immortalize their joy, I simply had to photograph the birds enjoying the blossoms. I feel proud of this photo, and very lucky to have witnessed such a magical Spring moment in the heart of Tokyo.

Fukujusō at Hinata Ooka A natural colony of fukujusō (Adonis ramosa) spreads across about 2,000 square meters on the rolling hills of the Hyūga District in Oooka, Nagano City. On well-kept slopes, fukujusō bloom proudly with the majestic Northern Alps as a backdrop. Typical peak season: mid-March 2. Fukujusō at Nanaoekosaka More than 30,000 fukujusō carpet the steep east-facing slopes. This dense stand of fukujusō, said to be the finest in northeast Shinshu, is a spectacular sight. Typical peak season: early to late March Note: You will walk about 500 meters along a mountain path from the parking area, including uphill sections, so please wear comfortable shoes such as sneakers. 3. Roukaku Plum Garden (Shinshu Shinmachi) Around 1,000 small ume trees and red-plum varieties are planted here, offering delicate blossoms set against the flowing Saikawa River. 🎎 Kuwanouchi Hina Doll Exhibition 🎎 Today (February 27) I went to see the hina doll exhibition in the Kuwanouchi district.👀✨ I lost track of time admiring the dolls loaned by local residents and the artworks arranged around them.🥰 The warmth of the community seemed to shine through the hina dolls.💖

Signs of Spring at Forest Museum “Mokumu” The temperature has risen suddenly and the sunlight already feels like spring’s warmth… It’s still midwinter, but there’s a place where you can feel spring even more. February 15th I went to see the fukujusō on Mt. Kojo because fukujusō started blooming in my garden They grow in a cluster at the corner of the clearing just before the summit of Mt. Kojo Maybe it was still early, so only a few were blooming… Their color makes you feel the arrival of spring

The illumination event “Yoritomo Cherry Blossoms and Bamboo Lights” has begun at Sakuma Dam Hanami Hiroba. The glow of the bamboo lanterns is truly magical. The bamboo lanterns were handmade by the Hotagawa Yoritomo-zakura no Sato-zukuri Jikkou Iinkai (Hotagawa River Yoritomo Cherry Blossom Village Development Committee), a group of local volunteers, and we hope you will come see them. On the 21st, the committee and our association will jointly run a sweet sake stall from 3:30 PM after the lighting ceremony, so please drop by. It gets especially cold after dusk, so be sure to dress warmly. The illumination runs until March 14th, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
