Sarushima is the largest natural island in Tokyo Bay, located in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It was once used as a fortress for the former army and navy during World War II, and was off-limits to the general public for a while, but now the general public can enter, and the buildings and artifacts that were eroded by greenery during that blank period are the charm of this island, and it is rumored that it is reminiscent of "Castle in the Sky". In addition, the buildings are now made of brick, which are few 22 in Japan, and it was a mysterious island as if you were in a dream, with a large number of plants eroding from all directions, the singing of trees, and the singing of birds on buildings that you do not usually have the opportunity to see.

That's really impressive! Age is just a number and it's great to see someone who is 60+ years old still passionate about cooking and sharing their skills with others. Making Indian Dessert malpua in the Indian style requires skill and patience. The batter is made with flour, semolina, and sugar, and then flavored with cardamom, saffron, and sometimes fennel seeds. The batter is then fried in ghee or oil until golden brown and crispy. To make Indian Style malpua, the following ingredients and steps can be followed: Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup semolina 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp cardamom powder A pinch of saffron 1 cup milk Ghee or oil for frying Steps: In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, semolina, sugar, baking powder, cardamom powder, and saffron. Slowly pour in the milk and whisk until you have a smooth batter. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Heat some ghee or oil in a pan. Once hot, spoon a ladleful of batter into the pan and spread it into a thin disc. Fry the malpua until it turns golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and drain on a paper towel. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve hot and enjoy! It's great to see someone continuing to pursue their passion and share their skills with others. I'm sure your street food malpua is delicious and appreciated by many! Rishirifuji Tourism Association
Apr. 11, 2023
Hello COOL JAPAN VIDEOS viewers! It is a Rishirifuji Tourism Association located on Rishiri Island, Hokkaido. We will introduce the sightseeing spots of Rishiri Fuji Town from today. ~Introduction of Mount Rishiri~ Mt. Rishiri, Japan's northernmost independent peak, has been selected as one of the "100 Famous Mountains of Japan" by mountaineer and novelist Hisaya Fukada. The foundation of Mt. Rishiri, which is 1,721 meters above sea level, was formed by a volcano, and subsequent eruptions formed the current appearance of the mountain. The rough shape near the summit is not caused by the volcano, but by repeated erosion and collapse of the mountain surface due to severe winds and snow in the northernmost region. Mt. Rishiri has a well-maintained mountain trail, and there are two courses, the Rishiri Fuji Town "Oshidomari Course" for beginners to intermediates, and the Rishiri Town "Kutsugata Course" for advanced climbers, and about 10,000 climbers use it every year to reach the summit. In addition, at the foot of the Oshidomari Course, which is the most frequently used, there is the spring water "Ganro Spring Water", which has been selected as one of the 100 best waters in Japan, and is useful as an oasis place for climbers. In recent years, the rapid increase in the number of climbers has led to the deterioration of mountain trails, amplifying the effects of bare ground due to trampling by climbers and soil scouring caused by rain and snowmelt in places where fragile volcanic strata are exposed. The local Rishiriyama Mountain Trail Maintenance and Management Liaison Council is working to maintain and repair the mountain trail, but it is not easy to restore nature once it has been damaged. Therefore, we have formulated the "Rishiri Rule," which is a regional rule for mountain trail conservation, and are calling on mountain climbers to cooperate with mountain climbing manners. 【Rishiri Rules】 1. Use portable toilets 2. Cap the stock 3. Do not sit on the plant, do not step on it In order to protect Mount Rishiri and to make it enjoyable for many people, we ask for your cooperation in spreading the Rishiri Rules.

Went on a trip to Sendai last weekend and had an awesome time. We were only there for 2 days and 1 night, but we managed to do everything we wanted to. On the first day we arrived at Sendai Station the beautiful stained glass in photo #1 and had lunch, after which we headed over to our hotel, dropped off our bags, and then headed off to do some sightseeing. Our first stop was Funaoka Castle Park. The cherry blossoms were really nice and there was a cherry blossom festival or something like that taking place and there were some food stalls as wells, so we picked up some snacks and relaxed for a bit. We were able to see the large Kannon statue from a distance but opted not to go all the way to the top because we had some other stuff planned. After Funaoka Castle Park we made our way towards Shiroishi Castle. On the way to the castle from Funaoka Castle Park there’s the famous Hitome Senbon-Zakura, which we were able to enjoy for the entire walk to the castle. The cherry blossoms along the river were quite the treat. During our walk to the castle, we came across another cherry blossom festival with more food stalls. We had a couple more snacks and enjoyed the views before heading towards the station to get to Shiroishi Castle. As we were walking to the castle I found some cool art on some shop shutters. The path leading up to the castle was dotted with lanterns and was really pretty, especially as it was nearing sunset. We arrived at the castle with just a bit of sunlight left and we were just lucky enough to take some nice photos. After the castle, we had some dinner at a nice Izakaya and headed back to Sendai Station where our hotel was. The first day was all about seeing the beautiful views of cherry blossoms, but the second day we decided to enjoy the history and culture of the area. We started off by visiting Zuihoden, the mausoleum for Date Masamune. On the approach to the complex, we saw some interesting buildings where we stopped to take pictures and check out the architecture. The row of trees lining the steps to Zuihoden reminded me of the famous row of trees at Togakushi Shrine in Nagano. There were a lot of different structures, and learning about the history and what they were all built for was really interesting. Unfortunately I have too many photos and can’t post them all here. After we finished up at Zuihoden, which took a while because I wanted to read every single sign that we came across, we headed over to Sendai Castle Aoba Castle. Again, I have too many photos to post, so I’ll just leave it to the famous statue of Date Masamune. The view from the top of the castle was quite nice and the other structures around the castle grounds were really interesting to learn about as well. After the castle, we were running out of time, and so we decided to start making our way back to Sendai Station. We ended up getting off a few stations early because my girlfriend had read that there was an event at Nishi Park. I can’t post all of the photos, but it was a really big cherry blossom festival with food stalls, etc. I highly recommend visiting Sendai during spring, as it’s definitely worth the trip. Most of the places we visited were not crowded at all, and we had an awesome trip.

Winter has passed before you know it, and it's time for the annual national sport to enjoy cherry blossoms
Last year, the cherry blossom season was in full bloom, so I took the JR Zhioki Hakodate in the morning from Kutchan to Goryuka to enjoy the cherry blossoms
Although the weather was not sunny that day, the cherry blossoms were really beautiful!

Don't miss this year's Hokkaido cherry blossom season
The cherry blossoms in Hokkaido bloom later than in Honshu, so don't miss Hokkaido if you miss Honshu

After seeing the cherry blossoms, welcome to Sapporo Jinyutei in the evening and make yourself a pleasant evening.
