万灯会は仏生山法然寺の真っ暗闇の境内で、全山約二千基の石燈籠にろうそくの火を灯し、送り火とするお盆恒例の行事です。 ライトアップされた五重塔とろうそくの灯りがとても幻想的です。

～Buddhist lantern festival at Honenji Temple～
The Buddhist lantern festival is an annual Bon festival event in which the candles are lit and fire is sent to the stone lanterns of about 2,000 stone lanterns in the pitch-dark precincts of Buddhist Mountain Honenji Temple. The illuminated five-storied pagoda and candle lights are very fantastic.
