In places where the ice is thick enough, you can also get on top. You can also hear the mysterious sound that sounds when the ice moves or cracks. It is a fantastic sight that can only be seen until the snow falls, and for a limited time. Click here for Tourist Information of Taiki Town! ↓ https://visit-taiki.hokkaido.jp//

【 Towns where you can meet red-crowned cranes, Taiki Town 】 In Taiki Town, there are many red-crowned cranes, a special natural monument of the country. The most common season is autumn, just around this time. You can often see them looking for food in the fields after the crops have been harvested. The location gives the impression that it is more common on the sea side than on the mountain side. Please look for it! By the way, the small bird in the middle of the first photo is not a red-crowned crane, but a crowned crane. It is also attractive that various kinds of creatures can be seen together in Taiki Town ✨

【Introduction of deep spots in Taiki Town】 ? Former JNR Hiroo Line Taiki Station Ruins In Taiki Town, there are still the remains of the station building of the Hiroo Line, a railway connecting Obihiro and Hiroo, which operated until Showa 62. Taiju Station opened in 1930 (Showa 5), and at its peak, the number of passengers per day exceeded 1,000 Use. The place where the tracks used to be is now a square called "Taiju Traffic Park", and the station building still remains. You can't go inside the building, but if you look through the window, you can see that the ticket gates and waiting rooms are still there. On the remains of the platform, there are still station name signs and signal levers. In Hakurin Park on the north side of Taiki Town Town Hall, the SL "No. 59611", which ran on the Hiroo Line until 1975 (Showa 50) after being active in various parts of Hokkaido, is on display. It seems that it was installed at the urging of SL fans in the town. Why don't you come and feel the remnants of the railway running in Taiki Town?

【Would you like to experience gold panning in Taiki Town?】 】 Gold dust is a hot topic in the movie "Golden Kamuy", which is currently a big hit, but at "Rekifune River" in Taiki Town, you can still experience gold panning in the old-fashioned way! It is said that the peak period of placer gold mining in the Rekifune River was from the Meiji 30 to the Taisho era, so it was ✨ right around the time when the gold bullion battle was taking place in Golden Kamuy Taiki Town also cooperates a little with the gold panning scene in the movie. Try to find Taiki Town in the end roll! This year's gold panning is scheduled to start around Golden Week. Come and experience it!

? Do you know what a pillbox is? ? "Pillbox" means "dot or point" in Russian, and is a small defensive position made of concrete or other materials to protect a militarily important base. Many pillboxes on the Pacific coast of Taiki Town were built at the end of the Pacific War in preparation for the landing of U.S. troops on the mainland, but they were never used and the war ended. Many of them still exist because they are made of solid concrete, etc., and although they have been eroded by waves, rain and wind, they still remain as historically valuable war ruins. Some are by the sea, some are half buried in the sand, some are inland, and so on. The pillbox, which is called "Asahihama's pillbox" and is surrounded by windbreaks, is maintained and can be visited, so please go there. ⚠️ There are many places around the pillbox that have bad roads, such as sandy beaches, so please be careful when going by car.

? Recommended spots ? in Taiki Town autumn The place where you can feel autumn in Taiki Town is "Sakashita Sensakai" where you can see beautiful autumn leaves. It's a little far away, so I'll show you how to get there! (1) If you run on the Shimizu Taiki Line (Hokkaido Route 55) from the upper Satsunai, you will see the sign on the right, and if you are coming from Taiki, you will see the sign on the left, so turn along the arrow. (2nd photo) (2) The orange bridge "Bikei Bridge" will come into view, so we will pass it. (3rd photo) (3) On the way, the road changes from paved road to gravel road, but if you continue on, you will see the orange bridge "Sakashita Ohashi", so you will pass it. (4th photo) (4) When you pass another gray bridge, you will see dairy farmers. A little further past the dairy farmer, there is a road divided into right and left, but please proceed towards the sign on the left. The sign says "Rekifune River tributary forest road" and you enter the forest road. (Photos 5 and 6) (5) Continue on the forest road for a while. When it rains, there are places that get muddy, and there are times when broken trees are falling, so go slowly. (7th photo) (6) I arrived at the "Hikata Bridge" over the Sakashita Senkai. (8th photo) There is a little space on the right after crossing the bridge, so you can park or make a U-turn. Visit Taiki's topic article "How to get to "Sakashita Senzai"" has more detailed directions, so please refer to it and go feel the autumn!
