Otofuke store consisting of a noodle shop Yukkejang Ramen 3 Spicy A spicy soup made by blending beef tail soup with several types of chili peppers. Even the standard 3 spicies were spicy! If you don't like spiciness, there is also 0 spicy that is not spicy at all. The inside of the store was bright and there was a small rise, and there were people with children. Small rice is free, so you can add eggs and cheese as an option to make it into a bowser. The ramen, which was popular at the yakiniku restaurant, was addictively delicious because it was 😋 served as a specialty store 〒080-0301 Hokkaido, Kato-gun, Otofuke, Kino Odori Nishi 12-3-2 11:00〜21:00

Posted from Monbetsu Tourist Information Center! This time, we will introduce the impressions and charms of Monbetsu to the two people who are currently working as trainees. ・Darshani Weeerakkodi (from Sri Lanka / live in Yokohama) Nice to meet you😊 We came to Monbetsu on 2023.07.30. I ate ramen 🍜 at a Chinese restaurant as I came. I also got delicious bean paste sweets from this shop. It was very tasty. (The ramen in the photo is another shop "Ramen Nishiya") On the second day, we went sightseeing in Monbetsu. - Okhotsk Sky Tower🗼 ー Crab Claw Statue 🦀 - Seal Land 🦭 ーIce Sea Observatory Tower Okhotsk Tower⚓️🛟🪝 -The drift icebreaker is the Rinko ⛴️ ーDrift Ice Science Center❄️🥶, I went to see such a place. I was surprised that it was a place that I couldn't see anywhere else. When I went to Okhotsk Sky Tower, Monbetsu looked like a map 🗾. I was surprised to hear that the Crab Claw Statue object weighed 7 tons. In Seal Land, the time I went was the time for a seal rice called Mina. It was interesting to go as it was so that I wouldn't mind calling her Mina. I also saw the Rinko ⛴️ for the first time. The place I really enjoyed was the location of the drift ice science center GIZA. It was cold inside the -20C, but it was interesting. I was able to see and touch the big drift ice 🧊 and fish 🐟 in the ice, which I had never experienced before. I also saw plankton called Clione for the first time. From the third day, I started working at the Monbetsu Tourist Information Center. I worked on websites and introductions for foreigners. On the fourth day, I went to take pictures of the famous place of Monbetsu with the office staff. - Omsaro Nature View House 🪻 - Okhotsk Garden 🍀 ーI went to see the coast 🌊. I took a lot of beautiful pictures. From the fourth day, I have been making videos using the photos and videos 📹I have taken so far and putting them in the social media. I really enjoyed working with the people at the office. Everyone is kind and gentle, always helping me. Also, thank you to Mr. Onukiyama of the city hall and Mr. Nakamura of the Monbetsu Tourist Information Center, who have been helping me from where I came to Monbetsu until now. Thank you for your support. It was really fun to come to Monbetsu's Inter ship and have a good experience.

[English/Japanese] The most famous gourmet food in Hachioji is ramen. It is so well known among ramen lovers that there is even a type of ramen called "Hachioji Ramen. Unlike other ramen, "Hachioji Ramen" uses a large amount of onions in its broth. In Nishi-Hachioji, there is a Hachioji Ramen restaurant called "Goemon" where people stand in line. It is a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Hachioji Station, so it is very close to the school. I tried it for the first time the other day! It was a very tasty ramen with the sweetness of onion, just like "Hachioji Ramen". The international students at the Japanese language school like ramen very much. Some of the male students in particular eat ramen every day, and it is one of the reasons for their weight gain. (By the way, many female students get fat from eating bread.) Went to Takadanobaba over the weekend and decided to go to this ramen restaurant called "Ore no Sora" (俺の空). There was a bit of a wait to get into the restaurant but after about 10-15 mins we finally got in and were able to order. They seemed to be taken measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and had spaces open between seats and only half the seats were filled. I don't remember the name of the ramen that I ordered but they all seemed to be quite similar. Usually I would order a spicy ramen, but this one you had to ask for the spicy paste separately (it's free) so I just decided to try it without it. The restaurant offers free large servings and so I did that as I was quite hungry. The noodles were thinner than those of most ramen restaurants I go to, and I prefer thinner noodles so it was nice. The bowl itself was really full of noodles. It didn't look like it was that much food at first, but it turned out to be a lot. We ordered a small rice dish covered with pork (no photo) to share and while we did finish eating it, we were incredibly full afterwards. Personally it's not the flavor of ramen I would normally choose as it was almost like a fish and tonkotsu base, but even still it was quite good. I think if you like fish base ramen you'd really like this ramen. Even though it's not the flavor I really like, I would still definitely recommend this restaurant as the food itself was of good quality. Definitely check it out if you're by Takadanobaba Station or just looking for some noodles

Forgot to include this in my post yesterday so I'm posting it today. When I was walking to Minami-Senju I stopped in for lunch at a place called "Hikari Ramen" (中華そば 光) and enjoyed a really interesting bowl of ramen... I got the special shoyu ramen (特製醬油らーめん) I believe it was, and I think it cost about ~1000 yen but it had some unique characteristics as you can probably tell by the photo. I'm pretty sure out of all the bowls of ramen I've eaten I've never had one with a pink egg. I was surprised at first but just thought it was kind of something funny that gave the ramen shop its own sort of identity. Also, while I have had meatballs in some of the ramen I've eaten before, it's quite rare in my experience (or maybe I'm just not ordering the right ramen lol) so I thought that was kind of interesting as well. The ramen tasted great though, the pink didn't add any extra unique flavor to the egg as far as I could tell but it was all really good. Interestingly enough, the seats downstairs were all taken and one of the people said that they had extra seating upstairs where I was shown into a sort of like storage room with no one else in it lol. It was an interesting experience but it was nice since I got to eat all by myself and I could even see out of the window a bit. All in all it was a good experience and I recommend it if you're in the area! It's really close to Minowabashi Station

Like I mentioned yesterday, I went to "Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba" over the weekend and there were a ton of restaurants. The one that I chose to eat at was a tough choice, but I ultimately settled on "Do Miso Tokyo Portcity Takeshiba" (ど・みそ 東京ポートシティ竹芝店), but there was also an Okinawan-themed restaurant right next to it called "Okinawa Bar Kafu" (沖縄酒場 かふー) that looked really nice as well, and smelled good. Either way from across the isle I got to eat some delicious ramen while listening to the Okinawan music which was really relaxing and created a nice atmosphere. I'm not sure what the ramen I got was called it was just the normal miso ramen from my understanding and I believe it cost ¥1100. There's another one that looks similar, has a similar name, and costs ¥1200 but that's a white miso ramen and not the one that I got. Either way, I'm sure it tastes good as well, because my ramen tasted great! I really liked that the restaurant had metal cups as well, it gives the water a different flavor and always makes it feel more refreshing too (in my opinion at least). One thing I forgot to mention about the building; if you open up their website, another futuristic feature you'll find is that the building actually shows the number of people in the building at any one time and also shows that percentage of male and female visitors. I thought this was really amazing. I'm not sure how it's done, but they must have censors located at the doors or in other places around the building that can analyze body structure or something similar. Either way it's a cool place!

Visited a Chinese restaurant in Akabane called Maraeki (麻辣駅, Malaeki?) over the weekend and got some spicy Szechuan noodles (四川風麻辣麺). The photo looked really good and they had tan tan noodles as well but I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I was not the biggest fan of the flavor. I think the noodles were great, and the bok choy tasted good as well, but for me the soup wasn't exactly what I was expecting. That being said I don't think it's that the flavor was bad, just that it simply wasn't for me. I enjoy spicy ramen, and the "麻辣" part of the name is "mala," apparently a spicy, numbing sauce made of Sichuanese peppercorn, chili pepper, and other ingredients simmered in oil. I went in not knowing this and paid the price I suppose. The noodles weren't actually that spicy in my opinion, but like I said, the flavor just wasn't for me. I think for anyone who enjoys Chinese food though it's a great place as it's quite affordable and the other dishes we ordered (fried rice and xiaolongbao (steamed buns)), although not pictured here, tasted great.

Went to a place called Menya Tenno (麺屋天王) between Oji Station, Tabata Station and Oji Station (Tokyo Sakura Tram) and ordered some miso ramen. Before the pandemic I went there once or twice and it was great both times, but I decided to revisit for the first time in a while. I think it was just as good or maybe even better than before, but it's definitely tasty. I remember the last time I went I ordered the standard thin noodles since that's what the stores specializes in, but this time I figured I'd try the thick noodles and see what it was like. I couldn't really compare the two since it'd been so long since I went to this ramen shop but I remember the last time tasted great and this time tasted great as well, so I don't think the thickness of the noodles changes the quality in any way. The chashu is also really good as well, I added that as a topping for ¥200. I can't remember if I ordered gyoza the last time I went, but I ordered them this time and they tasted delicious, better gyoza than most ramen restaurants I've been to in my honest opinion, and they're nice and juicy as well. I tried to take a photogenic angle of the gyoza but it was difficult with the lack of space😅. I did my best though! Anyways, it's a tasty ramen shop, so I definitely recommend it to anyone in the area!

Had a really good looking and tasting bowl of ramen in Shinjuku over the weekend and decided to take a bunch of pictures of it lol. There's so many ramen shops around Shinjuku Station that it was hard to choose where to go at first but we ended up choosing this place - Manbaken Ramen (萬馬軒). The chashu looked amazing just seeing the photos so I decided to get the miso chashu ramen with an egg topping. The ramen tasted really great and the chashu was thick, had a nice salty flavor, and the texture was really nice as well. My girlfriend ordered the spicy miso ramen and unfortunately we didn't think it tasted as good as the normal miso. It was almost like there was yuzu or sansho pepper inside of it and it gave it a strange tangy flavor that neither of us were huge fans of. I still definitely recommend the normal miso ramen though! The normal miso chashu ramen was ¥1100 and a normal bowl of miso ramen is just ¥790

Visited Fujiiya a small eatery in Kameido famous for its gyoza. It was definitely good, and they had an interesting tare for the gyoza as well. I think it had chashu inside of it and it tasted great. I threw in a little soy sauce as well but I think it's probably perfect without it. I recommend shaking the bottle before pouring it as I had a little too much oil come out instead of the actual sauce. It was also my first time getting shoyu ramen in a while. I'm usually a bigger fan of miso, probably because it feels warm and filling on cold days but is great on hot days too. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by this shoyu ramen, was a really refreshing flavor and the noodles were perfect. The restaurant is really cheap too, I think a normal chashu ramen and 5-piece gyoza was just ¥780, which is super cheap. They also had a lot of cool photos and signatures on the wall from/with famous entertainers like "Downtown," etc. Cool place, definitely recommend it!

Went out and ate ramen over the weekend. Was the first time I've done so in a while. The restaurant was called '背油とんこつらーめん 雷門' in Monzen-nakacho I got the spicy miso ramen (I don't remember the exact name, it was something special) and it was really good. My girlfriend got just a standard miso and it was good as well. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be going back there because I want to try the other ramen they serve now lol. The miso that I got was more of a brown color than the usual orange that I see so I was kind of skeptical at first, but it turn out to be delicious and the chashu was really thickly cut and also tasted great. There was even an egg topping and I didn't have to pay extra for that or the chashu! I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes ramen! Other than that the whether wasn't so bad this weekend, but the leaves have started falling so we're definitely in fall at this point. It's starting to get colder outside as well. I've already starting using the heater instead of the air conditioning. Looking forward to some hot pot and oden though!

[English/Japanese] Things that Surprised International Students When They Came to Japan: Food For international students, the first problem they encounter when they arrive in Japan is food. In this article, we will introduce Japanese food. What is this? Food I saw for the first time in a Japanese supermarket (1) Mushrooms and seaweed I was once asked about mushrooms by a Mongolian student. The Mongolian diet is basically meat-based and they eat very few vegetables. Among other things, they do not have the custom of eating mushrooms and were surprised to see mushrooms for the first time in Japan. In addition to mushrooms, foreign students often ask me questions about seaweed. I taught her how to cook mushrooms and seaweed, and she lost 44 pounds in a year! Now she has confidence in herself and does selfie every day. I was attracted by the smell.... The story of gaining weight from eating too much delicious food. 1) Ramen The number one thing that male students get addicted to when they come to Japan is ramen. Seeing the lines at popular ramen restaurants, some students may say, "It's strange that Japanese people want to wait in line to eat ramen," but after six months in Japan, they are standing in line for it. There are also many students who stock a lot of cup ramen in their rooms because it is cheap and quick to eat. However, some ramen soups are made with pork or beef, so if you are not allowed to eat ramen due to religious beliefs, please ask the store owner. One of our students even called a cup ramen company to ask about it. Let's learn the kanji for "pig" and "cow" as soon as possible. 2) Bread The number one thing that female students get addicted to when they come to Japan is bread. Although Japan is famous for its rice diet, bread consumption is one of the highest in the world. In fact, there are many bakeries in the city, and many people are drawn to the smell of bread and buy it. Also, convenience stores sell a wide variety of breads, all reasonably priced in the 100 yen range! Sweet breads are especially popular among female students, and I often see them eating them for breakfast and lunch. The sweet breads are especially popular among female students, and I often see them eating them for breakfast and lunch. Too expensive to buy! Beware of vitamin deficiency 1) Fruits Students from all countries say, "Fruit is expensive! ". Because of this, students eat less fruit than they did in their home countries, and many of them catch colds or have skin problems due to vitamin deficiency. For this reason, many students ask their families in their home countries to send them vitamin supplements. Please consider supplements as part of your luggage list before you come to Japan. I hope this article will help you prepare for your arrival in Japan. By the way, our school has a supermarket within a minute's walk from the dormitory. Also, in Hachioji, where our school is located, there is the famous Hachioji Ramen and a bakery with a long line of customers. If you are ever in Hachioji, be sure to stop by!
