Shot at Takada Castle Park in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. The Somei Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom and the Myoko mountain range dyed in snow were superb views, so I took this one without thinking. The cloudless blue sky and superb view were reflected on the surface of the water, and the water surface was also a wonderful view.

Osaka Castle, where you go for a walk at night, is always in the season 🌸 of scattered cherry blossoms.

Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture, Gassantoda Castle During the autumn foliage season, you can enjoy the gradation of trees created by the height difference. Recently, I feel that the period that feels "autumn" is getting shorter, but it is my favorite season.

I took a picture of Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site famous as White Heron Castle, with cherry blossoms. I was conscious of filling most of the composition with cherry blossoms so that the white walls would stand out.

Decided to go back to Gyoda again this weekend. We had such a good time last time we went we decided we wanted to check out the cherry blossoms this spring. Managed to visit some really nice places. We originally wanted to use the rental bicycles that they have in front of the station but we got there past noon and all of them were taken unfortunately. Fortunately for us, it ended up getting a bit colder later on so it actually worked out. We got lucky as there was a really convenient sightseeing bus that rolled through the station to all of the major places in the city every 45 minutes or so. We checked out the cherry blossoms at Gyoda Castle and they had the Hanachozu (花手水, pots of flowers floating in water). We were able to see a few of these throughout the city which was nice. They also had traditional umbrellas on display in a few areas around the castle which was really pretty. After Gyoda Castle we visited the Sakitama Burial Mounds which had some really beautiful views of the cherry blossoms. There was also a flock of herons flying around the area but I wasn't able to get a very good photo of any of them. Luckily we got some great photos of the cherry blossoms and the main mound and had a really enjoyable time. We also stopped by Suijo Park and there were some food stalls in the area, but we got there when everything was just about closed so we only got to see a few of the vendors. We managed to get a really tasty lemonade and a latte though. Both tasted really good. Surprisingly there were a lot of cosplayers at the park. We probably saw like 20-30 people cosplaying using the bridges and cherry blossoms in the area. On the way back to the station we managed saw this river during the bus ride and so we backtracked a little bit after getting to the station (about 5 minutes walking) and got to enjoy some really phenomenal views of the cherry blossoms along the river. There were hardly any people there as well, surprisingly. Overall it was a really awesome time!

Osaka Castle as seen from Osaka Castle Park and Nishinomaru Garden in Osaka City. There is an admission fee of 200 yen in the garden, but it is very beautiful because you can see Osaka Castle in front of you and seasonal flowers are in full bloom. Spring is a famous place for cherry blossoms. The view of white snow willows growing in clusters is also superb.

The ruins of Nagahama Castle are located on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa, in Nagahama City. Nagahama Castle is a castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but now it is the Nagahama Castle History Museum and many maples are planted in the surrounding area. In autumn, you can see the splendid autumn leaves.

I thought this was a really nice article and video. I hadn't heard about Utase ships or Utase fishing before. I mentioned the other day in a post about the Edo-Tokyo Museum how I really liked seeing the architecture of the ships and just happened to come across this today. I love how you can see a full broadside view of the ship and its sails. Apparently there are a bunch of different varieties of sails and different numbers used depending on the size, etc. of the ship. I've never had the opportunity to go to Kumamoto sadly, but I'd like to see this in action if I get the chance. I've seen a lot of photos of Kumamoto Castle as well, so that's definitely something I'd be checking out if I visited. I'd like to do it in the spring to see the cherry blossoms as well.

Went canoeing in Hagure, Saitama and I managed to turn red thanks to a nice sunburn. Was super tired the next day after a ton of canoeing but still managed to get a good amount of sightseeing done in Gyoda. Visited Oshi Castle (忍城) and the nearby museum, bought some tabi shoes from a shop that’s been in business for more than 100 years (創作足袋千代の松), stopped by a couple of shrines and enjoyed some of Japan’s scenic beauty. Had a total blast, and one of the locals even gave us some incense as a gift for visiting Gyoda!

I went to Gyoda, where my favorite drama Rikuo was filmed! I found a winning insect pattern at a tabi shop! I was just so excited 🤣.

Some photos I took at Nijo Castle in spring 2018. You can see the cherry blossoms in some of the photos just starting to bloom, but not quite in full bloom, and the rest of the gardens were really enjoyable as well. I really liked the gold decorations/designs on the buildings. The gate was also really cool. I believe it's called Karamon Gate although I'm not 100% sure on that. The moat around the castle was pretty neat as well, I can imagine it was a strong fortification, especially since it belonged to Tokugawa Ieyasu, although I'm not entirely sure about the rest of the castle's history. The photos of the moat and surrounding area were taken from on top of a small vantage point, and I wonder if it was originally some sort of turret, but I'm not sure about that either. Either way, I definitely recommend giving it a visit to anyone in Kyoto or anyone planning to visit Kyoto. I believe it was relatively close to the Golden Pavilion as well, so if you have the chance, why not?

Saga Karatsu Castle Rising from behind Karatsu Castle every year "Nishakudama" Many people take pictures with this composition every year. I took this photo when I went on a trip to Nagoya before Corona. I remember that the season was summer and it was very sunny and very hot. Nagoya Castle at that time was under construction, and unfortunately I couldn't go inside the castle, so I took a walk around. There was a lot of delicious food in Nagoya, and I would like to go to Nagoya Castle again to see the inside, so I hope that the vaccine will spread and we will be able to go out safely.

Before the spread of Corona, I took a picture at Matsumoto Castle, which I stopped at when I traveled to Nagano. At that time, many people came for sightseeing at the event, so I would like to go to Matsumoto Castle again, which is crowded with tourists, when Corona is over.

The inside of the castle after entering from the Kuromon gate was excluded from the scope of the spot because it is charged and the time is limited. This is a photo of when I stayed at British Hills in Fukushima Prefecture. It was a wonderful experience to feel the atmosphere of the West while staying in Japan. There are so many memories that you will definitely enter the top 5 places you want to go in After Corona.
