Japan's Top 100 Walking Trails has been chosen. It is located at the western end of Mt. Aso Outer Ring and looks like a horse's saddle, which is where the name of the mountain comes from. If you follow the northeast ridge of Mt. Kuradake, you will find Mt. Tsumushi (1,064m), and some people aim from the summit of Mt. Kuradake. There are many alpine plants and wild birds.
