Apr. 7, 2025
"National Institute of Genetics" in Mishima City, Shizuoka The other day, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, a "Open to the public" was held for only one day a year. Visiting the site of about 650 cherry trees of about 230 types planted in the Inside the facility, lectures and exhibitions will also be held. At the shuttle bus stop that operated free of charge from Mishima Station, there was a long line at one point, and many people enjoyed visiting the site. The general public only has one opportunity to see it a year, but it's really wonderful to see so many different cherry blossoms! This year, the cherry blossom trees in front of the facilities were almost in full bloom and beautiful! See you next year.

Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Tokyo Medical and Dental University (now Tokyo University of Science). While working as a doctor, she studied abroad in the United States for research and obtained the USMLE, but in 2009, the birth of her first child and her husband's transfer to Mishima coincided, and she quit the front line of work and experienced lonely childcare in Mishima. Based on her own experience, in addition to her work as a doctor, in 2014 she launched "Mama and Ne" as a child-rearing support project. In 2021, in order to create a place to connect with local residents who are isolated due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we launched the "Ducks Library," a private library with a one-box bookshelf owner that connects interesting people in the community. It has been more than 15 years since I came to Mishima, but without forgetting the perspective of Yosomono, I am fostering "a place to connect with the community through books" together with my friends in this town where Local people and Yosomono intersect. < Organizer> Mishima City Tourism Association ・info@mishima-kankou.com ・055-971-5000
