2024.11.27 On this day, the gluttonous Kawanishi went to a Japanese confectionery shop again for research!! It's the Sonogetsudo Honpo Fukushima store! But don't you guys notice something in the pictures? Look! Look!!! I'm going to Sonogetsudo, so I'm so excited that I forgot to take a picture of the exterior of the shop. Really, it's the willingness to eat, isn't it? I'm embarrassed... Next time, I'll be sure! We interviewed Mr. Katagiri, the proprietress of Sonogetsudo Honpo! From the 78th year of its founding (Showa 21), it seems that it was started with the store name before it became Sonogetsudo. At first, it was in front of Kami-suwa Station! Four years later, we expanded our store to Owada, and eight years after that, to Shimizu. Currently, we have opened this Fukushima store in the Shimizu store and 1992 (Heisei 4), and we are offering Japanese sweets at two stores in the city!! The proprietress's recommendation is the reprinted "Kojo Monaka" and "Kabuto Naka"!! I Restrooms available about 4 types during the process, and I and a lot of them. The proprietress said, "The bean paste is different at each Japanese confectionery shop, so it's interesting to find the one you like!!!" He said, "Recently, the number of foreign customers has gradually increased, and bean paste may be attracting attention because it is lower in calories than cream in Western confectionery." ◎ Sonogetsudo Honpo Fukushima store 📍 Nagano, Suwa City, Nakasu Fukushima, 5398-1 ☎ 0266-58-1547 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 19:00 ◎ Regular holiday: Shimizu and Fukushima stores, every Tuesday ◎ Sonogetsudo Honpo Shimizu 📍 1-2-12 Shimizu, Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture ☎ 0266-52-1543 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 19:00 Nov. 27th in 2024 Today I went to Engetsu-dou Hompo which is Japanese traditional sweets (Wagashi) shop in Suwa city! “Wa” means Japan. “Gashi” means sweets. So, Japanese traditional sweets call Wagashi? They have two shops in Suwa, Shimizu-machi area and Fukujima area. I went to Fukujima location. Don’t you notice about pictures??? Did you? I was focus for Wagashi… That’s why I forgot to take a picture about Engetsu-dou’s exterior… That’s big mistake! Horrible!!! I’m so sorry about that. I’m gluttony. Wagashi was right front of me, I lost from Wagashi’s temptation. So, I forgot took the shop’s exterior photo… Ms. Katagiri (landlady) introduce her shop and Wagashi. They founded in 1946. About 78 years. The shop was front of Kamisuwa station. They started with the different name of the shop. It became Engetsu-dou in 1950. Shimizu-machi branch opened in 1958. Fukujima branch opened in 1992. I asked her, “what is your recommendation Wagashi?” She told me Kojou Monaka and Kabuto Monaka. Monaka is a Japanese sweet that is bean‐jam‐filled wafers. Also, she said “You can enjoy Wagashi every season, and each shop has original sweetened red bean paste. So, you can enjoy to find your favorite shop. Now, gradually increasing foreign customers. I think they realized Wagashi is less than calories compare to cake.” ★ Engetsu-dou Hompo Fukushima branch 📍Nakasu-Fukushima, 5398-1 Suwa city, Nagano Pref. ☎ 0266-58-1547 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 19:00 ◎ Regular holiday: Shimizu and Fukushima stores, every Tuesday ★ Engetsu-dou Hompo Shimizu branch 📍Shimizu 1-2-12 Suwa city, Nagano Pref. ☎ 0266-52-1543 ◎ Business hours: 9:00 ~ 19:00

2024.10.22 On this day, while enduring hunger (laughs), I went to a Autumn leaves spot in the city and took a photo in order to deliver "Suwa Autumn leaves Information", which has been receiving many inquiries recently. It was sunny in the morning, but in the afternoon it became cloudy due to my bad Squid. Please forgive me... The following are my impressions of each Spot, but my personal subjectivity has been included, so I would appreciate your understanding and understanding. (1) Takashima Castle, Gokoku Shrine ⇒ Ginkgo was not colored at all, but was still lush. I have the impression that the maple has also begun to fade in color. (2) Around Suwa Lake and Lakeside Park ⇒ I have the impression that it is starting to color little by little, but I feel that it is still a long way off. (3) Katakurakan ⇒ I have the impression that the Ginkgo is gradually becoming yellowish, but I think it is still a long way off. (4) Tateishi Park ⇒ This is also the impression that it is starting to color little by little. It was raining on the 23rd, but the maximum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius. The mornings are also warm, and the maximum temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius this week, and the minimum temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. I feel that it will be later than every year! Today, I’ll update to you guys about Suwa city’s Autumn Leaves recent situation. I got some phone call about these types of inquiry. So, I went Suwa Autumn leaves spots in Oct, 22nd!!! That day’ AM was sunny, but I’m unlucky man! PM was so cloud… Please forgive me!!! *Caution: it is in my opinion please understand it! 1. Takashima Castle and Gokoku Shrine --- Gingko was so green! Just some leave was turning yellow. 2. Lake Suwa and around Kohan Park --- I think 20 - 30% was changing their leaves color to yellow and red. 3. Katakura-kan --- I think 20 - 30% Katakura-kan’s Gingko is gradually changing yellow color. 4. Tateishi Park --- I think same as Katakura-kan, Maples and Cherry blossoms are changing their leaves to red color. (20 - 30%) Yesterday was rainy in Suwa. But it was 74 degrees Fahrenheit!!! It wasn’t cold, it’s so crazy… Usually in Suwa around November, it is supposed to be under 59 degrees Fahrenheit. I think Suwa Autumn leaves are delay for more than a week compare to usual year.
