◆Suwa Shrine and History of the Mikata Stone◆ On the large stone enshrined in Suwa Shrine, there is a large hand mark on it, which is the origin of the hand-shaped stone. A long time ago, a messenger came to Izumo from Takamagahara, where eight million gods gathered, and urged him to return to the Great Kingdom. The Great Lord's order immediately agreed and surrendered, but his young son, Tateminakata Mikoto, did not accept it, and the judgment was broken, and finally the battle was fought against the Takemikazuchi of Takatengahara. Squid was defeated and fled, but Takemitsuchi pursued him endlessly and finally caught up with him in the land of Sawara. He surrendered, put a handprint on a stone beside him, and made a vow of return, and peace was established between the two gods. This place is called "Chase Pit". It is said that it is a stone that was made because Wu Yan Hammer came after the life of Ken Gomeikata.

◆Mibusawa Fudo Falls◆ It is a beautiful waterfall with a drop of about 17 meters and falls in a straight line. Since ancient times, it has been revered as sacred water, and has been used as a place for practitioners to practice and purify. Fudo Myo, who stands on the left facing the waterfall, is said to have been solicited from Mt. Narita in Shimousa Province in the eighteenth year of Kyoho (1733), and it is said that the waterfall attracted people's worship, and the festival was crowded with many Worshippers from nearby towns. Tradition of begging for rain also remains. The two stone Buddhas standing in front of the statue of Fudo Myō are Kongara Doji (left) and Seitaka Doji (right), which were erected to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the solicitation in 1934. At this time, the Silkworm Jade God (Golden Princess), the Matsuo Taseko Song Monument, and the Monument (Kitahara Shinzan Shosho) were also erected at the same time. Kankochi Suwa!!! Introducing the Takashima Castle Festival! May 26, 2024 (the fourth Sunday in May every year). The 55th Takashima Castle Festival was held in. This year, 19 groups presented on stage. Hip-hop dances, Japan dances, Drum, singer singing, Restrooms available and the Matsumoto Castle Gun Corps (arquebus) were Restrooms available. The Gun Squad made a strong impression on me. Restrooms available even in Japan. The arquebus is about 430 years old Restrooms available and I think that there are few people who have traditionally preserved the ones that can be used today Squid The people who protect the arquebus and carry on the tradition are the people of the Matsumoto Castle Gun Corps. That's why arquebuses can be seen at events such as Matsumoto Castle. The gunners brought several types of arquebuses. To the untrained eye, I saw two types of arquebuses. The first is the bantsu (infantry gun), and the next is the medium tube (medium gun). They fired blanks in several different formations. It was a great impact sound! Finally, a batter from Suwa shot the middle tube. It was a huge sound that seemed to cut through the space we were in. It was really amazing, and I felt wonderful! Drum performances, children's Hip-Hop dances, and families came to watch. In this festival, you can buy specialties from Stalls, sister cities, and friendship cities, and you can also do tree climbing!! We were blessed with good weather and many citizens came to the event. If you have the opportunity to come to the Takashima Castle Festival, please come and enjoy it!

◆ Myojin Stone ◆ Myojin Stone is an oval-spherical boulder with a major axis of about 2.5 meters, a minor axis of about 1.8 meters, and a height of about 1.2 meters yen. I don't know how long it has been in this area, but it is thought that it was brought from the Ina Mountains by the flooding of the Mibuzawa River in ancient times. This rock has been revered by people since ancient times as a mysterious rock that is not frightened by large floods, even though it can be easily moved by the power of a child. Also, I don't know when it started, but it was surrounded by a Jade fence and was considered a sacred place of worship for Suwa Grand Shrine. The origin of the name is unknown, but it is said that when the Suwa Grand Shrine solicited the Suwa Daimyojin to this area, a shintai was enshrinement on this rock and a festival was held until the shrine (Mibuzawa Suwa Shrine) was completed. Since then, it has been customary to use this rock as a temporary enshrinement for the Shintai during the expansion and renovation of the shrine. ● Details of Myojin Stone ・ Request to customers who Use The people of the district take good care of this stone. When you go inside and push the stones, be careful not to break the Sacred straw ropes or sakaki decorations. ・Facilities Restrooms available with handrails ・Toilet without ・Parking lot None (Use the parking lot in front of the nearby Mibusawa Suwa Shrine) ・Inquiries Toyooka Travel Time (0265-49-3395)

Narai juku "It's off-limits today due to road construction!" Alamār!" It is located in Narai, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture. Narai Juku is the 34th post town in the Nakasendo Highway, counting from Itabashi Inn on the Edo side and Moriyama Inn on the Kyoto side, just in the middle of the Nakasendo Highway. The Town has been selected as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings and retains a strong appearance of the past. On the day I visited, half of the road was off-limits due to road construction (tears). The construction had not started yet early in the morning, so I asked to take a picture. "It's off-limits today due to road construction!" Alamār!" I don't know if the two people in the photo were talking. Restrooms available.

It is a Kamakura Yabusame horse performed at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine in Kamakura (Japan Heritage). It is a traditional Shinto ritual in which a dignified archer in the form of a warrior shoots a target with a bow and arrow from a galloping horseback riding. According to history, "In Kamakura, Minamoto no Yoritomo first made a dedication to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine on August 15, 1187." This Yabusame Shinto ritual is still being held on the Annual Grand Festival of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine (September 16). It is a brave and solemn Shinto ritual where you can feel the breath of the Kamakura period. Feel the history in the traditional events of the historic town.

Doll memorial service Nagano Prefecture Suwa City Hot Spring Temple (Rinzai sect Myoshinji sect) On March 17, 2014, I went to a Hot Spring Temple. It is about a 10-minute walk from Kamisuwa Station. This temple offers Traditional Japanese straw raincoat dolls and stuffed animals. It's like a funeral for Traditional Japanese straw raincoat dolls and stuffed animals. At the Hot Spring Temple, a memorial service for dolls is held every March. In Japan, there is a Boys' Day (May 5) and a Girls' Day (March 3). Most grandparents give dolls as gifts for their grandchildren to pray for the growth and health of their children. It is a traditional doll original to Japan. That's why many Japanese families have Japanese dolls. I think dolls also have a soul like animism. So, if your child has a doll, the child will play with the doll. Adult, I think we move away from dolls. Most Japanese people don't simply throw away the dolls that have watched their children grow up. Because the doll spent time with the child. Most Japanese people think that dolls have souls. That's why we make a memorial service for the dolls. On this day, more than 1,000 dolls were gathered. The priest recited sutras on dolls and stuffed animals for about 30 minutes. The priest gave thanks to the doll with cleansing salt. We prayed with the same feeling. It was a very, very strange experience. I've never seen so many dolls and stuffed animals. However, it is a very hearty Buddhist offering for the doll. I feel that I was able to feel the Buddhist sentiment a little. That's why I love Japan!! Hot Spring Temple is also famous as a famous place for autumn leaves. If you want to see the beautiful autumn leaves, please come and see the autumn leaves at the Hot Spring Temple.
