Lets discover the feudal lord era of Toyama. Toyama Castle situated in the center of Toyama City. It was actually built in 1543 by the local feudal lord Sassa Narimasa. Unfortunately, the castle keep was dismantled during the Meiji Restoration. Over the years, the castle underwent several renovations and reconstructions, the latest in 1954. Today, the castle is a top tourist attraction, offering visitors a unique opportunity to learn more about Japan’s feudal history.

A woman, with a determined attitude, strides forward in a flowing white robe. Her hands are tightly gripping her hat, which is struggling to stay on as the wind howls around her. The backdrop is stunning, with rolling snow mountains and the dramatic setting sun and clear sky giving the scene an almost storybook feel. Every detail is vividly visible, from the waving flowers in the wind to the woman's hair whipping around her face. It's as if a female protagonist of a Victorian novel has come to life. Location: spring quartet Asahi Toyama

It is a cherry blossom on the shore of the Funagawa River in Asahi Town, Toyama Prefecture. Every year from early to mid-April, you can encounter a beautiful scenery called "Asahi Funagawa Spring Quartet". In this photo, I removed the tulip and rape flower fields and made the remaining snow of Mt. Komagatake the main feature, so it became a "spring duet". Many locals visit every year to catch a glimpse of the magnificent scenery created with sincerity.

"A Spring Quartet of the Northern Alps" is a stunning sight to behold, with rows of cherry trees, tulips, and nanohana flowers that make it a paradise for nature lovers. The unique combination of the pink hue of the sunset reflecting on the snow and cherry blossom trees, along with the orange and pink rows of tulips and yellow nanohana flowers, creates a picturesque moment that resembles a painting. This stunning sight is a result of a harmonious interplay between the natural phenomena of seasonal changes and a well-planned plantation strategy that ensures a synchronized blooming period of the different plants." It is a World Heritage Site, but it is lit up three times a year. The other day, there was a winter illumination event, so I went there. This time, I made a reservation half a year ago, so I was able to stay lodging in a 200-year-old gassho-zukuri minshuku, and thanks to that, I was able to fully enjoy the nostalgic original scenery of Japan. In addition to the illumination at night, the quiet early morning walk, which is only possible for those who stayed at the lodging, was exceptional.
