Iwanai Onsen wins the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Prize in the Onsen General Election 2023!!! Iwanai Onsen ranked first in Hokkaido by total votes 👏 and placed fifth nationwide in the ‘Smooth Skin’ category 👏. In addition, its past activities were recognized with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Prize. The Onsen General Election is a citizen-participation project to revitalize hot spring areas, held since 2016 with the endorsement of five ministries and agencies (the Ministry of the Environment, the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan Tourism Agency). Iwanai Onsen is a natural hot spring with high temperatures averaging 42–47°C, where you can fully enjoy free-flowing spring water. One attractive feature is that two different waters gush from the foot of the same mountain. One is a bicarbonate spring derived from rainwater that has seeped through the mountains and enriched with minerals. The other is a chloride spring originating from the sea, enriched by the ocean’s bounty. Both waters contain natural mineral components known to offer high benefits for beauty and health, and they fill the baths pure and untreated, without dilution or reheating. In the Iwanai Onsen area, Takashima Ryokan achieved: Hokkaido overall vote: 1st place 👏 Nationwide ‘Smooth Skin’ category: 3rd place 👏 Nationwide ‘Proud Dinner’ category: 3rd place 👏 Nationwide ‘Seafood’ category: 2nd place 👏 Nationwide ‘Solo Travel’ category: 1st place 👏 It ranked highly across these categories. We hope this helps more people learn, “Oh, I didn’t know Iwanai Town has hot springs!” And we hope many people will take this opportunity to visit Iwanai Onsen. Soki soba Okinawa soba noodles / Sumanume / I ate Okinawa soba at the soba restaurant "Sumanume" in Kokuba, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture ^^ This is a place I often go to, and it is a super popular restaurant that has been renovated from a traditional Okinawan tile house old folk house. There are different types of Okinawa soba noodles, but this time I ordered Soki soba and juicy cooked rice, which are loved by all the people of the prefecture. Soki is pork ribs with bones. The soup is a bonito stock with a light and gentle taste. Stable deliciousness! It was a treat! By the way, Suma Nume is the name of the shop Suma Shioma-ya Nu no Mee Mae.

On Thursday, November 23rd, we held the "Flower Walking Campaign in AEON MALL Asahikawa Nishi". The Flower Tour is a wide-area collaboration in one city and three towns, Engaru Town, Takigami Town, Yubetsu Town, and Monbetsu City, to promote the tour route of flowers and other tourism materials, and this is the third campaign at AEON MALL Asahikawa Nishi. This time, the event was co-sponsored by the "Okhotsk Tourism Federation" and co-sponsored by the "Sounkyo Okhotsk Scenic Byway". In addition to selling local specialties, there was an exhibition of drift ice, a panel exhibition, a large gathering of characters, and in Engaru Town, there was also an "obsidian accessory making experience" and "Cosmos Overlapping Stamp". It was a great success throughout the day, and it was a very exciting event. Thank you very much for coming.
