It is a World Heritage Site, but it is lit up three times a year. The other day, there was a winter illumination event, so I went there. This time, I made a reservation half a year ago, so I was able to stay lodging in a 200-year-old gassho-zukuri minshuku, and thanks to that, I was able to fully enjoy the nostalgic original scenery of Japan. In addition to the illumination at night, the quiet early morning walk, which is only possible for those who stayed at the lodging, was exceptional.

Hashima Island, located off the coast of Kyushu Nagasaki, is a coal mining facility that is now in ruins, called Gunkanjima because of its shape. It can be reached by boat in 40 minutes from Nagasaki Port, so you can go ashore on a tour, but from the coastline of the Nomozaki area in the southern part of Nagasaki City, you can see Gunkanjima from land. This view is also a view that I would like to keep forever, but it may not be possible to see it in a few years due to the progress of decay.

Kure Volcano, Hiroshima Recommended spots in Hiroshima #Kurahashi Volcano 👈 1 from 📸 the volcano on Kurahashi Island It is a superb view spot overlooking the 360° Seto Inland Sea. There are various climbing routes here, and there are many scenic points. I want to go again! It's a wonderful mountain that makes you think! 😊 ◾️ Currently, the road that can be reached near the summit is closed due to falling rocks, and you will have to climb from the middle of the mountain. It takes about 40 minutes from the road and about 1 hour from the mountain trail, but I definitely recommend the mountain trail! The stairs are a little tough, but... 😅

Tsudome Lunch Today is the monthly community cafeteria day. The place is written as Shumu but called Tsudome It is held in the Social Welfare Council building and beloved by the nickname Tsudome Lunch. Today's menu is tsukemen (dipping noodles)! Thick noodles catch the savory broth perfectly. For dessert we served chocolate brownies in honor of Valentine’s Day. Next month is Wednesday, March 13! Thank you, as always, for the delicious lunch!

Atami Sun Beach A blue sea and white sand, a row of hotels, and a palm-lined promenade create a beach that feels like an upscale overseas resort. In summer it serves as a bathing beach and, as a place to stroll along the sand or play in the waves, it is popular with families and couples. At dawn you can see a beautiful scene as the sunrise rises from the horizon, dyeing the beach and town, and at night the beach is lit in a magical display—the first beach illumination in Japan—designed by world-renowned lighting designer Mikako Ishii. During the summer season many people use the beach as a swimming area, and the hugely popular Sun Beach Water Park is also thriving. The beach is frequently used as a location for TV and photo shoots, including the drama Hibana.
