Here are some recommended experiences. In Urahoro Town, where forestry is thriving, charcoal burning has been practised for about 100 years. At one of the few remaining charcoal kilns in Japan, you can hear stories about charcoal from the producers and experience traditional Japanese techniques and culture. On this tour, you will visit shrines where you can experience Japanese history and culture, learn how to worship directly from the priest, and after worshipping, draw omikuji fortune slips and experience the Japanese hospitality of tea ceremony. Additionally, you will experience mochi-tsuki (mochi pounding), a traditional Japanese ritual where mochi is pounded as an offering to the gods. You will make and eat anko mochi (mochi with red bean paste) and ozoni (mochi soup) yourself. Mochi-tsuki is a traditional Japanese ritual where gratitude is offered to the gods and their power is shared. As it is a collaborative activity performed by multiple people, it also serves as an opportunity to deepen bonds with family and community members. In the afternoon, we will experience charcoal burning. In Japan, charcoal has been produced since ancient times using traditional techniques to carbonise wood. Cooking with charcoal brings out the sweetness of ingredients and makes them taste delicious. It also has various other effects, such as purifying water by adsorbing impurities and deodorising by adsorbing and removing substances that cause unpleasant odours. On this tour, you will experience the deliciousness of ingredients cooked on a charcoal barbecue. We want people to interact with producers they don't normally meet, learn about their various thoughts, and experience the culture and food of the region. We hope that through these experiences, people will gain new discoveries and values, and lead healthier and richer lives. If you are interested, please apply at the following URL. 【Climbing 👟 Shiraiwa for the first time in a long yellowtail】 From the 13th ~ 17th, the town road Honyashiki / Namiki Line became passable for both general cars, so I left my Car at the Gokase Highland Skiing Resort Skiing Center and climbed 💪 up to ShiraIwayama (rocky mountain) The management road to the Skiing Resort is not passable for general cars, so we first aimed ✨ for the Burdockhata Trailhead on foot After about 30 minutes of walking, we arrived at 💡 the Burdockhata Trailhead From there, I climbed 😊 Shiraiwa for the yellowtail time in a long time The Mountain Trail was bumpy at first, and but it was easy to walk and the weather was cool, so I was able ✨ to climb without much load At the summit, we were able to exchange valuable Information and learn about 👍 the situation of neighboring mountains The photo shows the chestnut tiger and wildflowers 🥰 that I encountered along the way I was able to walk on the white Iwayama (rocky mountain) for the first time in a long yellowtail, and it was 😆 refreshing

(1) During the summer, Taiwanese students staying in Tateyama experienced the Tateyama Bay Fireworks Festival. We received wonderful photos, videos, and impressions taken, so we will introduce them! Xiangyun The fireworks festival in Tateyama was very exciting. Fireworks in Japan last for a whopping 1 hour, while major events in Taiwan (for example, New Year's Eve fireworks) last only about 5 minutes, and I was very surprised by the difference. The feature of Tateyama's fireworks is that they are launched over the Ocean, and the range of fireworks is so wide that they bloom all over the place in an instant, so it was so Fresh and spectacular that I didn't know where to look. In addition, everyone was lying down most of the time to watch it because of the Appreciation on the sandy beach, which was very comfortable. Intoxicated by the romantic atmosphere of the moment, I felt that the Tateyama fireworks festival had all the necessary elements for romance. The festival stalls also added to the dreamy atmosphere, and the colorful and rich aroma made me want to eat anything. In particular, there were many takoyaki stalls, so I just bought a box and tasted it. The owner was very kind, and even though I couldn't understand the language, he treated me warmly, which warmed my heart. Nature made me smile while walking, and the delicious taste made this night even more unforgettable. The Tateyama Fireworks Festival is truly exhilarating. I was amazed that Japanese fireworks can last for a whole hour, especially compared to major celebrations in Taiwan—like New Year’s Eve—that only last about five minutes. This difference really shocked me. What makes the Tateyama fireworks special is that they explode over the sea, creating a vast display that bursts in all directions at once, making it hard to know where to look. It’s both novel and spectacular. Watching from the beach, where most people lie down comfortably, adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The romantic mood at that moment is intoxicating, as if the Tateyama fireworks festival embodies all the elements needed for romance. The food stalls at the festival add to the dreamlike feeling, with their colorful displays and enticing aromas making everything tempting to eat. There were many takoyaki (octopus ball) vendors, and I couldn’t resist buying a box to try. The vendors were very friendly, warmly interacting with me despite the language barrier, which made me feel especially welcomed. As I strolled around, I found myself smiling unconsciously, and the delicious tastes made the evening even more unforgettable.

The highlight? Definitely the underwater fireworks 🌊💫 — shimmering bursts that danced across the sea’s surface like something out of a dream. My favorite moment was watching the golden willow-shaped fireworks drift gently down, like glowing branches swaying in the breeze… truly breathtaking. And of course, no festival is complete without tasty treats — the butter-fried potatoes were crispy, golden, and totally addictive 🥔😋 Huge thanks to the amazing staff and organizers for making this unforgettable night possible. Legend has it that a demon who lived in this area and misbehaved said, "Give me the daughter of the Village as my wife!", and when the troubled Village chief consulted the monk, the monk told the demon, "If you carve five stone Buddhas on the Quay in one night, I will give you my daughter as my wife, but if you can't, leave the village." It is said that when the worried Village went to see it in the middle of the night, the demon carved the fifth one, so when the Village mimic the croaking master of the chicken imitated it, the demon mistakenly thought that morning had come and ran away. ■■■Access to the center of Bungo-Ono City■■■ About 3 hours by car from JR Hakata Station in Fukuoka Prefecture About 2 hours by Car from JR Kumamoto Station in Kumamoto Prefecture About 1 hour and 20 minutes by Car from JR Beppu Station in Oita Prefecture About 1 hour and 20 minutes by Car from JR Yufuin Station in Oita Prefecture ■■■■■■■■■■■■ Kyushu, Oita Prefecture Bungo-Ono City Sightseeing and recommended Spots ■■■■■■■■■■■■ https://sato-no-tabi.jp/news/20250813event-mie/...
