Introducing Takushoku Kinokotan, located inside Takushoku Bus’s Shintoku Office 😊 This tourist farm reuses sites once used by Hokkaido Takushoku Railway for its headquarters, rolling stock depot, and company housing on the line that ran between Shintoku and Kamishihoro. The name Takushoku Kinokotan is a coined word combining Takutetsu (short for Hokkaido Takushoku Railway), “kinoko” (mushroom), and the Ainu word kotan, meaning village. It reflects the desire to bring new life back to this once-bustling place. You can enjoy a hands-on shiitake harvesting experience grown carefully on logs using timber felled in Hokkaido. At the farm shop you can buy log-grown shiitake, Hokkaido Takushoku Railway and bus merchandise, and mushroom goods. There is also a display corner exhibiting historical materials related to Hokkaido Takushoku Railway 😍 Look for the red roof! The building’s motif is the former Shikaoi Station building 🎵 📍Hours: 10:00–15:30 (last shiitake harvest admission at 15:00) 📍Closed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and during the New Year holidays 📍Fees: Harvested shiitake are sold by weight. 📍Experience season: March–November — no reservation required on weekends and public holidays; reservations required on weekdays December–February — reservations required for both weekends, public holidays, and weekdays *For groups of five or more, please make a reservation at least two weeks in advance regardless of season or date.* Takushoku Kinokotan TEL: 0156-67-9105 📍Access: About 10 minutes from Shintoku Station by bus: take Route 53 via Shintoku Station bound for Minami-Shintoku and get off at Minami-Shintoku 20 minutes on foot from Shintoku Station About 5 minutes by car from Shintoku Station About 10 minutes by bicycle from Shintoku Station *Bicycle rentals are available at Shintoku Station.* Bicycle rental inquiries and reservations: 0156-67-7567 Shintoku Town Tourism Association (Regional Exchange Center “Tokutoku”, 2nd floor) https://t-kinokotan.com//

[Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture] Feel secure with this! A Directory of Shimanto River River Activity Operators! ★The Appeal of River Activities★ You can enjoy the Shimanto River with your whole body in 360°, and nothing captures that feeling better than river activities! The Shimanto River has a gentle current, so beginners and children can take part. On canoe tours you can sometimes go where no man-made structures are visible, offering a true escape from everyday life. Shimanto City is home to many river activity operators, with a variety of options that let everyone from small children to seniors enjoy themselves with peace of mind. Take this chance to find an operator that interests you♪ 1. Shimanto Canoe and Camp Village Kawaracco Shimanto Canoe and Camp Village Kawaracco sits beside the Shimanto River, surrounded by rich natural scenery. In addition to campsite facilities, the site includes well-equipped bungalows and a Shimanto hinoki cypress house. It also serves as a terminal for the Rinrin Cycle rental service. Operating season: Year-round Closed: Mondays (if Monday is a public holiday, closed Tuesday) *Open during the period around Golden Week and from July 1 to September 30 Pets allowed to ride together (tandem kayaks). *Please bring a life jacket for your pet. Depending on size, joint riding may be unavailable. 2. withRIVER withRIVER is located at the foot of a Shimanto River chinkabashi (submersible bridge). The current is gentle here, so beginners and small children can feel safe. At the end of the tour you can even try jumping from the chinkabashi. In addition to canoe and SUP experiences, withRIVER offers horseback riding. Besides ordinary rides, there is a course that lets you ride within the Shimanto River. Because the horse stands where you can touch the bottom, children and non-swimmers can participate safely. Operating season: March to mid-November Dogs may ride along (on SUP or two-person canoe). Dog life jackets are available to rent (500 yen per jacket). Free photo sharing available 3. Shimanto River Lodge Yuubetei Shimanto River Lodge Yuubetei is a rented villa-style accommodation on a hill overlooking the Shimanto River, available to one group per day. Families, groups, and couples can relax here. Rooms include a terrace where you can barbecue while watching the sunset. River SUP experiences are available from Yuubetei. The owner customizes courses to match guests. SUP board rentals are also offered. Please request when booking your stay. *SUP experiences operate only in the summer season. 4. Okera Adventures Shimanto Okera Adventures Shimanto centers on “bikerafting,” a combination of cycling and packraft (inflatable boat) river descent. They are the only operator in Japan to run regular guided bikerafting tours. (*Survey by Okera Adventures, March 2022) They operate by private-group bookings only, so you and your group enjoy the tour alone. One appeal is that guides tailor the tour to participants, weather, and conditions. Operating season: Year-round Dogs may ride along (dog life jackets available for rent). Free photo sharing available 5. Shimanto – River Station Canoe Center Shimanto – River Station Canoe Center is known for the spectacular natural scenery in the latter part of its tours. The attached Shimanto Hiroba Auto Campsite offers toilets and barbecue sites so you can camp beside the Shimanto River. (Advance reservation required) There is a beginner-friendly canoe school where instructors lead basic half-day and full-day courses. You can paddle an 8 km canoe touring course to the famous Iwama Chinkabashi Bridge featured on TV and in magazines; the latter 4 km of the course shows almost no man-made structures, letting you fully enjoy the Shimanto River’s wilderness. The Canoe Center also serves as a river station exhibiting canoes from around the world and as a terminal for the Shimanto River Rinrin Cycle rental service. Operating season: Year-round Free photo sharing available 6. Shimanto Rakusha Shimanto Rakusha is a former school repurposed into a place where you can stay and play. The lodging uses spaces such as the school infirmary as bedrooms, and classrooms have bunk beds. You can even stay in the broadcasting room that still runs the school PA system or in the principal’s office. Because canoe experiences here do not involve long downstream runs, you can set your own experience time. Families can take turns, play in the river, and enjoy canoeing freely. In addition to canoeing, you can try stream trekking (shower climbing), raft play, and relaxed fishing in the Shimanto River. Closed: Every Wednesday *Open daily in July, August, and September Free photo sharing available 7. Canoe Shimanto Base Canoe Shimanto Base runs tours using sit-on-top canoes that you sit on the deck rather than inside. You can choose a half-day course with a 3 km downstream stretch (morning or afternoon) or a shorter course without downstream paddling. All canoes are single-person, and two sizes are available so you can pick the right fit. The half-day course is available from third grade elementary school and up; the short course is available from first grade elementary school and up. The short course is a private booking for groups of 1–10 people. Operating season: March to November Dogs may ride along. *Please be sure to bring a life jacket that fits your dog’s body size. Free photo sharing available 8. Good River Shimanto At Good River Shimanto you can enjoy a full Shimanto River canoe tour. They instruct you from canoe boarding and paddle technique to how to enjoy canoeing. The downriver course follows the river current and reveals little in the way of man-made structures, letting you relax in expansive nature. You can take commemorative photos at the popular Iwama Chinkabashi Bridge. They also run rafting tours, letting you drift downstream in a raft boat on the gentle Shimanto River in relaxed comfort. Guests from age three through seniors can participate. Operating season: Mid-March to early November Children and dogs may ride along Free photo sharing available How was it? Try experiencing Shimanto City’s river activities!

Early Morning Hot Air Balloon Experience I recently joined an early morning hot air balloon experience! It was sadly cloudy that day, but the extraordinary scenery—something you rarely get to see—made for a special time. The moment the balloon gently lifted off felt fresh and thrilling. The early morning hot air balloon experience runs through September 30. During the winter season, bookings are generally accepted for groups only, so if you want to take part as an individual, be sure to go this month. For more details, contact the Tokachi Nature Center! The 2nd “Amakusa Reihoku Literary Stroll” sightseeing route creation workshop was held🎊
Last week on August 21, the second workshop was held in Reihoku to develop a sightseeing walking route so visitors can enjoy the town’s literary spots and heritage as new tourism resources✨
Held with the aim of revitalizing tourism “together with local people,” the second session proved a rich time in which the more we dug, the more literary treasures of Reihoku we uncovered👏 In particular, participants were treated to a carefully delivered, realistic walking-tour-style guided explanation by Mr. Kanzaki, the president of the Guides Association, who projected images as he spoke. This gave everyone a renewed understanding of the local area and created a lively atmosphere♪

The next workshop, the third session, is scheduled for Thursday, September 25 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM‼
We plan an enjoyable workshop full of activities that delve more deeply into literature and the history of Reihoku, so please join us👀
*We will open recruitment for participants on our website in early September.*

We are also collecting ideas and insider information from those who cannot attend the workshops to help shape the walking route. Please take part in our survey via the announcements section on our website!

[Kanagawa] Hokule'a Shonan / 5 Star PADI Scuba Dive Center
Sep. 1, 2025
Hello! This is 🤗 Hokule'a Shonan This time, I went diving in Futo, a popular Spot in Higashiizu! Tomito is a place that can be reached by Day trip from the Kanto region, There is a it is ✨ one of the most popular beaches in the Higashi-Izu diving Spot On this day, we were 👍 divided into an OW (Open Water) training team and a fun dive team. The transparency, which was a little down, was recovering quickly and I was able 😄 to dive very comfortably. August is coming to an end, but the midsummer days are still ongoing. After all, the sea looks best 🏝 in summer. Of course, the coolness of the air conditioner is comfortable, but the time to jump into the sea in front of you and cool off while soaking up the sun is the most luxurious moment 🐠 of all. The moment you put your face on the surface of the water, it is a blissful time. In the sparkling water, a flock of Solas damselfish unique to Higashi-Izu Unfolds. The scene is a healing space that you will want to look at forever, and it will make you 🤿 feel the charm of diving again. And what I would like to recommend in Tomito is "Tomito Hall". The terrain is like a small cave, and on a clear day, the light shines through, making you 🌟 feel like you're exploring a small cave. If you were too busy to go diving in the summer, don't worry! Tomito, which can be reached on a day trip from the Kanto region, is the perfect sea for the upcoming hot season. It is a diving Spot that even beginners can participate in with confidence, so it is recommended to start obtaining Sense and fun dives at this time. 🌈 Hokule'a Shonan is a PADI 5 Star diving center located in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The theme is "Let's go on a journey to a world we haven't seen yet!" We help you discover the wonders and joys of Nature through diving. Held in diving courses and tours for more than 300 days a year in Izu, Okinawa, overseas, etc., and the small group system makes beginners feel safe. We can also make a plan according to your request, so please feel free to contact us 🫧. Even if you missed the summer, the residual heat continues. Why don't you take this opportunity to experience diving in Higashi-Izu and Tomito? 🌊 #DiveJapan #JapanDiving #FutoDiving #EastIzu #DayTripFromTokyo #BeginnerFriendly #SmallGroupDiving #EnglishFriendly #DiscoverScuba #ExploreTheBlue #OceanLovers #UnseenWorld

Fun and Camping at Forest Park! Three Days During Obon At Forest Park, to mark the 100th anniversary of the village opening we ran an "Everything 100 Yen" campaign! Camping was 100 yen per night and every playground ride cost 100 yen per go! Hours were extended by two hours, so for three days visitors could play until 6:30 p.m. Go-karts kept racing nonstop, and the batting center never stopped sounding with hits. Because the event overlapped with Bon dance season, many people used the campground. On the third and final day of the 100-yen campaign, we also held a PET BOTTLE ROCKET event! Participants assembled PET BOTTLES into rockets, filled them with water, attached them to the launcher, pulled the trigger and launched them! Cheers rose as the rockets flew powerfully through the air. Even when water splashed on them, children squealed with delight and had a great time. Thank you for visiting Forest Park! The season is still ongoing. We look forward to your next visit! #Nishiokoppe Village #Hokkaido #Forest Park #Summer #Everything 100 Yen #Play #Camping

[Kanagawa] Hokule'a Shonan / 5 Star PADI Scuba Dive Center
Aug. 22, 2025
Diving connects the 🌏 world Hello. This is 🤗 Hokule'a Shonan The other day, I went to the popular diving spot "Izu Marine Park (IOP)" in Higashi-Izu. This time, we had guests from Spain and guests from the United States living in Japan. It was a 🤿✨ very international dive On the day of the dive, we were divided into two teams: the experience diving team and the fun dive team. The experience diving team started by snorkeling and getting used to the sea. Scene observed colorful fish in a shallow area with high transparency, and the guests seemed 😄 to be having a lot of fun After that, I tried to breathe in water for the first time. I was a little nervous at first, but I soon got used to it and was able to dive calmly. In addition, I tried water photography, and I was able to enjoy 👏 it with so much leeway that I couldn't believe it was the first time The Fun Dive Team aimed for Izu Marine Park's Specialties "Water Post". Meter under the seabed, you can 📮✨ actually post a postcard to this post and the postcard will really reach the other party. Those who receive it will surely be surprised. In addition, this time, a guest who enjoys drawing also tried drawing in water. It was a special and luxurious time to enjoy diving and art at the same time. There is a very much to 🙏 everyone who participated this time Once again, I felt 🌏 that diving is an Activities that connects the world It is a great pleasure for us to be able to connect across borders through the sea. ——— 🌈 Hokule'a Shonan is a small-group dive shop located in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. Under the theme of "Let's embark on a journey to an unseen world!", we convey the beauty and enjoyment of Nature through diving. Held in tours and courses for more than 300 days a year, mainly in the Izu, Manazuru, and Shonan areas, including in Okinawa and overseas. We value polite support so that beginners can participate with peace of mind. From now on, all the staff will do their best to guide 🌊✨ you so that more people can know about the beautiful sea of Japan Let's experience a new world together! Komu Museum of Art’s Wood Play Experience Market A workshop festival celebrating the village’s 100th anniversary The “Wood Play Experience Market” was held at Komu Museum of Art! Vendors from across Hokkaido gathered for a hands-on making event using wood and natural materials. When the museum opened at 10:00, visitors came to the event space without pause. We offered six experiences. Make a wooden kaleidoscope Make a wooden clock Make BUG BUG from nuts and seeds Make wooden brooches and keychains Make a wood shaker Make mushroom magnets. @do.mono @tek_toys Visitors chose beads and peered into the finished kaleidoscopes, walked around with insects made from acorns and pipe cleaners, and shook bean-filled wood shakers. On the clock faces, participants decorated not only numbers but many other embellishments. In one corner, poisonous-looking mushrooms and irresistibly cute mushrooms sprouted in abundance. Animal keychains and brooches, each with its own expression, were adorable. Many people didn’t stop at just one experience but walked around to multiple booths, which made us very happy 😆 Including the reception staff, the day brought together people skilled in wood education and woodcraft 🏋️🏋️🏋️ Thanks to the staff who watched over and supported the participants, it became a truly lovely time ✨ Thank you very much!!! #Nishiokoppe Village #Hokkaido #Komu Museum of Art #Summer #Wood Play Experience Market #Hands-on experience #Workshop #Woodworking #Making things #Woody Summer School #August 2
