In Abukawa Gorge there is one of Japan’s largest giant potholes, measuring seven meters in diameter.
A pothole forms when stones on the riverbed rotate in the current and gradually carve into the bedrock over long years.

Mount Iimori's daylilies are nearly in full bloom.
Yesterday we held a hike to see the daylilies on Mount Iimori. Right in the middle of the rainy season and worried we might cancel due to rain like last year, the forecast suddenly changed and, to our surprise, the weather turned out fine 😅 We even caught a glimpse of Mt. Fuji through the clouds, making it a lucky hike 🎉
The daylilies are just short of full bloom, but they were impressive enough to enjoy 😋 I think the peak will be around late next week.
Well done to everyone who joined us — great job 🫡

The summit was being battered by strong winds, but it still felt amazing

An observation deck sits atop Mt. Nagamine.
Climb this deck and enjoy 360-degree views, including the Northern Alps 😄.
Please note it will be closed for repainting from June 23 to July 18, so it won’t be available during that time… 😢

"Nagano-Toyama Trip to the Exam 3rd Night" is set in Togakushi!
This time, we will introduce the Spots that appeared in the Anime!

(1) Seven bends
route from Zenko Temple to Togakushi, it is a road with a steep uphill hairpin curve on the "Togakushi Bird Line". In the Anime, there is an unexpected development in a pine tree in the middle of the road on the way!
* Due to the continuous steep curve, large vehicles are not allowed to pass.
* To go from Zenko Temple to Togakushi, there is another route, "Asakawa Roux Prine". For those who are not confident in driving and large vehicles, it is recommended to head from the Asakawa Roux Preline.

Adjacent to Togakushi Ranch, a refreshing campsite surrounded by birch forests.
Ideal for forest schools and family camps in the great Nature. There are more than 350 auto camp sites (free sites), the largest in Japan!
Cooking area, outdoor furnace, hot Water shower, Water washing Toilet, and a shop. You can also enjoy playing in the river that streams through the venue.

(3) Togakushi Shrine Okusha Shrine @togakushi_jinja
It is the Shrine that sits at the back as the headquarters of Togakushi Shrine. Located in the middle of the approach to the temple (2 km), the Japanese cedar trees that are more than 400 years old have become a hot topic for their fantastic scenery, and in recent years it has become a popular Spot visit by many visitors from Japan and abroad. It is said to have divine virtues such as good luck, wish fulfillment, abundant ripening of five grains, and winning sports.

Katori Shrine stands quietly amid the rice fields of Azumino, with the graceful ridgeline of the Northern Alps stretching behind it.
The mountain, shaped like Mt. Fuji, is Mt. Ariake, also called Shinano Fuji.
Today, temperatures in Azumino rose nearly to a scorching summer level as the area soaked up strong sunlight.
