Kashogyōen Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen is located in Jozankei, Minami-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. There is Jozankei Onsen in Jozankei, which is famous nationwide. Jozankei Onsen is a hot spring resort with a history of more than 150 years since its opening, and is a popular tourist destination for overseas travelers, attracting 2.4 million visitors annually. It is about 26 kilometers from downtown Sapporo, about 1 hour by car, and is convenient for transportation, and is surrounded by nature, so there are plenty of popular activity spots. There are many ways to play, such as skiing, horseback riding, canoeing, orchards, and park golf courses. The Jozankei area is designated as Shikotsu-Toya National Park, so you can enjoy camping. Jozankei Onsen has a very long history, and more than 150 years ago, in the 2nd year of Keio (1866), the Shugen monk "Bisen Jozan" met this area with the guidance of the Ainu people and pioneered it as a hot spring area, so it was named "Jozankei". Since then, it has healed many people for many years and continues to this day. The spring quality of Jozankei Onsen is a colorless and transparent sodium chloride spring called "hot water" as a hot spring with a high heat retention effect. There are 56 springs, and they gush out abundantly from cracks in the bedrock on the riverbank. In addition, in Jozankei, the "Kappa Legend" has been handed down for a long time, and you can see Kappa statues here and there in the hot spring town. There are 21 statues in total, so it is recommended to take a walk in the hot spring town and look for the Kappa statue. A Japanese-style building built in the image of an old Japan inn. Gentle wood warmth, fragrance. And the sea spreads out in front of you. The water basins in front of the room and lobby reflect the moon at night and ripple with the wind, making the open-air bath at night even more wonderful. The open-air bath is just about the size of stretching your legs.
You can spend a relaxing time looking up at the sky.

At the beginning of OPENING, there were no trees between the private house and the inn, and the view was too good, but now you can only see a little outside through the gap in the vegetation at a height that does not bother the private house, and you can no longer worry about the line of sight opposite. Stay tuned for new photos. Of course, you can overlook the beautiful sea.

There are 10 rooms in total. Four of them are dining rooms. The restaurant is a private room with a view of the mountain side.

The dragon is revered as a god of water and has deepened people's faith as a symbol of protection and fertility. The powerful "Futatsumaru Ryu" is the design motif.

What a beautiful photo! It actually reminded me of the Takeda Castle Ruins. All of the amazing autumn foliage and the sea of clouds in the area. Dang it, now I have to come here in two different seasons lol! I already knew the cherry blossoms were amazing on Mt. Yoshino but now I have to see the autumn foliage as well and hopefully the sea of clouds along with it. I love that you can see Kinpusenji Temple as well. I guess it's a World Heritage Site and I'd love to see it. I wonder if there are any nice inns up here as well. It'd be an amazing experience to stay the night up on the mountain after sightseeing in the area with all the natural scenery and the temple and then have some kaiseki cuisine at a nearby inn... But now I'm just getting myself excited and hungry haha. I'll have to do a bit more research later!
