Kagawa Prefecture Megijima "Sumiyoshi Shrine Grand Festival" festival dedicated to the god of the island – The shrine festival at Megijima island There is a surprisingly unknown island culture Kagawa Prefecture and in Takamatsu City Megijima and Ogijima take turns holding a summer festival every year, carrying a drum stand made of ropes handed down in Isshi Sōden and parading around the island. As the name suggests, the god of the island is a woman, and it has been handed down as a festival forbidden to women since ancient times so as not to be jealous. Drum stands are dropped and rolled wildly toward the gods, and at the end of the festival, the drum stands go into the sea. It seemed difficult to go through the small torii gate.

When I visited Megijima for the first time in a long time, a festival was being held on that day, so I took a picture. A festival dedicated to the god of the island "Sumiyoshi Shrine Grand Festival" The shrine festival at Megijima island There is a surprisingly unknown island culture Kagawa Prefecture and in Takamatsu City Megijima and Ogijima take turns holding a summer festival and parading around the island carrying a drum stand made of ropes handed down in Isshi Sōden. As the name suggests, the god of the island is a woman, and it has been handed down as a festival forbidden to women since ancient times so as not to be jealous. Drum stands are dropped and rolled wildly toward the gods, and at the end of the festival, the drum stands go into the sea. It's a small festival, but I hope that traditional culture and festivals like this will be passed on to future generations so that they do not decline.

Hidden Gem in Taiki Town📌 A larch planted in 1906 at Hokai Shrine in the Kaishin district of Taiki Town to commemorate victory in the Russo-Japanese War still stands today as a designated commemorative protected tree. It reaches about 27 meters in height and 80 centimeters in diameter. This larch, alive for nearly 120 years, is well worth a visit! Please note that the surrounding area is farmland and pasture, so do not enter the fields.

Otofuke Shrine I visited Otofuke Shrine on a sunny day! The enshrined deity at Otofuke Shrine is Amaterasu Omikami, the same deity worshiped at the Ise Grand Shrine. As a guiding and leading deity, Amaterasu is said to grant blessings for overcoming difficulties, pioneering progress, good fortune and prosperity, and success in new ventures! This spot is also known for possible encounters with Ezo squirrels, red foxes, and owls♪ Be sure to pay a visit and offer your prayers ✨

Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome Recommended PEACE spots in Hiroshima #Atomic Bomb Dome @hiroshima_peace_tourism @sumiyosijinja In the Hiroshima Kangen-sai Festival of Sumiyosashi, the first "rowing horse boat" in three years cruised from Sumiyoshi Shrine to Atomic Bomb Dome in front of Sumiyoshi Shrine, and the voices of the Han people rowing the boat echoed in this Motoyasu River, and it was a moment filled with the feeling and excitement that the festival had returned. It's dusk time when we are grateful for our peaceful daily life. ☺️ Let me 🙏✨✨ post another one tomorrow from a different angle.

Obihiro Shrine 'Natsu-mode' I visited for worship at dusk. Flower-filled water displays run through August 1. The gathering hall is also said to host a giant flower display through August 15. It takes about 15 minutes by car from the Tokachigawa Onsen district to Obihiro Shrine. ■Natsu-mode Flower Hand-Water ~TOKONATSU~ "Volume 25" Reiwa 5 June 30–July 2 Finished "Volume 26" Reiwa 5 July 15–July 17 Finished "Volume 27" Reiwa 5 July 29–August 1 [Ongoing] "Volume 28" Reiwa 5 August 11–August 15 (Scheduled) ■Reisai Flower Hand-Water ~MIYUKI~ "Volume 29" Reiwa 5 September 22–September 25 (Scheduled)

Was in Sapporo over the weekend for an errand and had enough time to stop by a few places before having to leave. Took a walk through Nakajima Park early in the morning and saw a turtle and a heron relaxing by one of the ponds. There were also a bunch of ducks enjoying breakfast in the grass nearby. Also managed to stop by Hokkaido Shrine and and the Sapporo Beer Museum, both of which were very cool. I really liked the architecture of Hokkaido Shrine, and it was fun reading the signs to read about the different emperors that had visited the shrine and in what year. The beer museum was fun as well. Learning about all the history was really cool, and seeing the different advertisements used throughout the years was pretty neat as well. Ended up buying matching cups and I got a shirt as well. Hokkaido Shrine and the Sapporo Beer Museum are definitely two of the best spots to visit in Sapporo if you ask me. I would have liked to visit Shiroi Koibito Park as well, but they were already closed by the time we were able to visit, so I guess that’ll have to wait for next time. Was a great time overall.
