This photo shows a kusu tree in the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka. Every year in early summer, the kusu tree pushes out old leaves to produce new shoots. The kusu tree in this photo has been producing new shoots every year for 1,500 years and connecting life.
