Hiroshima was chosen as the venue for the G7 Summit to be held in May 2023. The world situation is full of sad news from last year. To let the world know about Hiroshima's past, and to revive a peaceful city with the help of people. I hope you will feel it as a citizen of Hiroshima. I think it will be meaningful for you to come on a trip to Hiroshima this year. From the 4th generation of A-bomb survivors -- Hiroshima was selected as the venue for the G7 Summit to be held in May 2023. The world situation is overflowing with sad news from last year. I want the world to know about the past of Hiroshima, and that people can help revive a peaceful city through the power of the people. I think it will be meaningful to visit Hiroshima this year. My today's recommendation is Kawazu city. Kawazu cherry blossoms are early-blooming cherry blossoms that begin to bloom from mid-February to early March every year in Kawazu city of Shizuoka Prefecture. During that period a several hundred cherry trees blooms along the both side of river. Unlike the normal cherry blossom this kawazu cherry blossoms are bright colors. In a short distance one can also see the mountains on one side and sea on the other side. The river water is crystal clear. Most importantly, the local peoples are very tourist friendly.

Today, in the series "Kobe, Rediscovered", we will deliver the "Cherry Blossom Tunnel" in Nada Ward, a famous place for cherry blossoms, as the seventh stage. The weather has finally passed spring, and the cherry blossom season is approaching again this year. This famous spot in Takao-dori, Nada-ku, Kobe City, is a slope of about 400 meters from north to south, and 70 old Yoshino cherry trees are planted on both sides of the road. This row of cherry blossom trees was planted in the Taisho era at the same time as the opening of the Maya Cable. The appearance is shaped like branches and leaves on both sides covering the road like a tunnel, so I think you can comfortably enjoy the cherry blossom trees if you walk through it leisurely. The photo was taken on April 2 of last year, when it was in full bloom. The petals in the foreground are dyed red by traffic lights (photographing the cherry blossoms at night before dawn) Please note that during the flowering season, there are a little more people passing by, and this is a road that city buses also pass through. At the top of the hill is the Maya Cable station. You can go to the top of Mt. Maya by cable car, so next time I would like to deliver the night view from the Kikuseidai.

Todaiji Temple I visited Nara Park on a family trip. It was my first time to go during the cherry blossom season and I was able to enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The collaboration between Nara's wonderful cherry blossoms and deer, which are said to be messengers of the gods, is sacred and seems to reflect the four seasons of Japan even more wonderfully. Nara Park and Todaiji Temple, which show various expressions in each season, are really recommended sightseeing spots.

Approximately 2,600 cherry trees of 52 species are planted in Hirosaki Park, and it is a famous cherry blossom spot that is counted as one of the "three major cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan". There are many highlights, such as the Somei Yoshino cherry tree, the longest living cherry tree in Hirosaki Park that is over 140 years old, the illuminated night cherry blossoms, and the "flower raft" where cherry blossom petals fill the entire moat, and many people from inside and outside the prefecture visit the "Hirosaki Sakura Festival" held from late April to early May every year.
