Atami Tourism Association
Dec. 16, 2025
Yesterday, Tuesday, December 16, the standard tree of the “Atami cherry blossoms” on the Itokawa Promenade was confirmed to be in bloom! These “Atami cherry blossoms” are a type of kanzakura (winter cherry) originally from India that normally bloom from early January through February. Around 1871, an Italian brought them to Atami along with lemon and date palm, and they were named “Atami cherry” during the Flower Everywhere campaign held in 1965. On April 10, 1977 (the 40th anniversary of the city’s founding), they were designated as the official tree of Atami City. Because the same branch develops two tiers of buds—some that bloom early and others that bloom later—the flowers can usually be enjoyed for more than a month each year. Starting the New Year, the Plum Festival and Cherry Blossom Festival will open together on Saturday, January 10! During the Cherry Blossom Festival, activities such as light-ups, servings of cherry blossom tea and tea, street performances, kenbu (sword dance), and band performances are planned, so please come and enjoy the blossoms. The 16th Atami Sakura Itokawa Cherry Blossom Festival: January 10, 2026 (Saturday) to February 8, 2026 (Sunday) *Regarding bloom conditions, the city hall’s survey data will be posted on the page below as it becomes available, so please refer to it.* https://www.ataminews.gr.jp/event/208...

The LemonEE
Jun. 29, 2025
One quiet springtime afternoon, a cyclist pedals along the enchanting canopy of soft pink petals in full bloom in Sewaritei Yodogawa Riverside Park. Witnessing such scene before me felt like time seems to have paused as the spirit of serenity whispers through every falling blossom. This moment captures more than just motion; it reflects the harmony between nature and human presence, the quiet joy of spring and the enduring beauty of Japanese tradition. As the wheels turn gently over the petal-strewn path, the scene becomes a living haiku—fleeting, serene, and deeply moving. "Beneath cherry skies, Wheels hum through petals like wind, Spring breathes, then drifts on." - a haiku by the Lemonee

It was already 5 o'clock on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Toyama that day, the weather was very good like going to shoot the sunset, the first time I arrived in Toyama, I was attracted by the train next to the station and decided to sit over, but because the first time I got on the train, I found that I was sitting in the opposite direction, and it was almost dark when I turned back to the station, and I was afraid that I would take the wrong seat again and decided to use it, and after walking for about 10 minutes, I finally caught the beautiful blue hour, and pressed the shutter under the breeze of the spring evening to record this beautiful moment.

🌸 【Hokuryucho Cherry Blossom Spot Introduction vol.5】 🌸 Hello, this is 🌻 the Hokuryu Town Himawari Tourism Association This time, too, we will introduce the cherry blossom Spot that colors the Spring in Hokuryu Town! 🌟 The fifth installment is— "Shrine tour in Hokuryu Town"! Today, I would like to introduce ⛩️🌸 three shrines in Hokuryu In the town and the cherry blossoms I encountered there Each shrine was very impressive with its unique scenery, soothing tranquility, and harmony with the cherry blossoms. 🌸 【Bi Water Shrine】 The bright red Torii (shrine gate) gate is eye-catching, and the Bi Water Shrine has a truly "shrine-like" appearance. About 4 to 6 cherry trees were blooming in the Precincts, and the contrast with the sky was very beautiful. With the Spring breeze blowing, the view of the cherry blossoms through the Torii (shrine gate) gate was tranquil as if time had stopped. 🌸 【Shinryu Shrine】 Shinryu Shrine with its brownish Torii (shrine gate). In particular Precincts the cherry blossoms blooming on the right side are beautiful, and the soft petals and the calm atmosphere of the Shrine are in perfect harmony. The komaninu on the ball is also impressive, and the charm of this shrine is that 🤔 there are some unusual discoveries 🌸 【Mihagyu Shrine】 The Mihagyu Shrine is tucked away a little away from the center of town. The appearance that appears in the Rural Scenery makes you feel nostalgic. If you listen to the wind while the cherry blossoms sway quietly, it is a place 🌾 where Nature and your mind will be calm The history and atmosphere of each shrine, as well as the beauty of the cherry blossoms. In Hokuryu Town, this kind of "quiet impression" is scattered here and there. While admiring the cherry blossoms, you can touch the history of the town and the thoughts of the people. Please experience such a Spring shrine tour by all means 😊✨ We look forward 😊✨ to your visit
