COOL JAPAN VIDEOS Photo Contest PR
May. 2, 2023
★ The 17th COOL JAPAN VIDEOS Photo Contest is currently being held with the theme of "Japan's best known sightseeing spots"! We look forward to receiving many applications from you! Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce a post by "Hokkaido Photo Club". The sky and trees reflected on the surface of the water, and the mysterious atmosphere of the railroad tracks are impressive. Lake Shikaribetsu in Shikaoi Town, Hokkaido, is a natural lake at an altitude of 810 meters. It is also known as the "lake in the sky" and is also known for its high transparency. There is a beautiful primeval forest in the surrounding area, and many rare animals inhabit it. There are also various activities such as hiking, canoeing, and camping. You can stay at the campsite on the north shore of Lake Shikabetsu, where you can camp while looking at the superb view of Lake Shikabetsu, without reservation. In addition, fishing is usually prohibited on Lake Shikabetsu, but it is only lifted for 50 days a year, and you can enjoy fishing for Miyabei wana, rainbow trout, and cherry trout. Please check the official website for details. The "Shikabetsuko Lake Bottom Railway" is a spot where the fantastic scenery is a hot topic on SNS. The highly transparent tracks in the water are reminiscent of a scene from the popular anime movie "Spirited Away". The sight of autumn leaves falling and merging with the railroad tracks is also a highlight. In winter, the surface of the lake freezes, so it is recommended to have good weather except in winter. The village "Shikaribetsu Lake Kotan" appears only during the winter season when the lake surface freezes. It is full of events unique to Cotan such as bars using natural ice, ice sculptures, and ice chapels, and it is crowded with many tourists every year. In the vicinity of Lake Shikabetsu, there are also "Shikabetsu Lakeside Hot Spring Hotel Feng Shui" and "Lake Shikabetsu Nature Center", which are ideal for staying and strolling. ◆Lake Shikabetsu◆ 【Address】〒081-0344 Shikaoi-cho, Hokkaido 【Access】 From JR Obihiro Station, take the Takushoku bus bound for Shikabetsu Lakeside and get off at the last stop and walk a short distance about 1 hour 40 minutes 【Parking lot】Available 100 cars Please see the official website for details. )

What kind of place is Ashorocho? Welcome, viewers of Cool Japan Video—let us introduce you in depth to Ashorocho’s charms and sightseeing spots! Ashorocho sits in the northeastern part of Tokachi and is the largest municipality in Japan by area. Forestry and agriculture thrive here, and about 80% of the town’s land is forest. The population is around 6,500. Within the town you mainly travel by car, and driving access from major cities in Hokkaido is as follows. • About 1 hour by car from Obihiro • About 1.5 hours by car from Kushiro • About 1.5 hours by car from Kitami • About 3.5 hours by car from Sapporo • About 3.5 hours by car from Asahikawa One popular sightseeing spot in Ashorocho’s center is Ashoro Ginga Hall 21. Originally built as Ashoro Station on the Hokkaido Chihoku Kogen Railway’s Furusato Ginga Line, it was registered as a Roadside Station in 2004. After the Furusato Ginga Line was closed in 2006, the facility was renewed and reopened in 2011 to become what you see today. Inside the facility, the former platform has been preserved to recreate tracks and trains that were used for 95 years. Ashorocho is also the hometown of singer-songwriter Chiharu Matsuyama, and the facility’s Chiharu Matsuyama Gallery displays his beloved guitar and stage costumes. For those who want to enjoy Ashorocho’s vast natural scenery, we recommend Onneto. Onneto is a 2.5 km-circumference lake west of Akan-Mashu National Park, formed about 2,000 years ago by an eruption of MtMeakan. Because the lake’s colors change with the season, weather, and viewing location, it is also called the Goshikinuma Ponds or the Mystic Lake. ※It takes about 50 minutes by car from Ashoro town center. ※From December through April, the road to the lake is closed and vehicles cannot pass. For details, please see the Ashoro Tourism Association website. Finally, here is a popular event in Ashorocho. The Ashoro Furusato Bon Odori Ryogoku Fireworks Festival, held every August, is the town’s largest event, painting the night sky with some 8,000 fireworks (※in 2022 only the fireworks were launched). When touring Hokkaido, be sure to visit Ashorocho. This largest town in Japan, with untouched nature stretching as far as the eye can see, awaits you with the warmest hospitality.

Ice bubble in Hokkaido, Lake Nukabira. It is a rare phenomenon in which air bubbles are trapped in a frozen lake. This time, it was extremely cold below -20°C because it was shooting at dawn, but when I found it, the cold was blown away! The Taushubetsu River Bridge is also famous in the Lake Nukabira, but this is also deteriorating and it is not known how long you will be able to see the current 11 arches, so it is a recommended spot right now!

We crossed to Nakajima by Lake Toya steamer and trekked around the island in 3 hours. After walking for more than 1 hour, we arrived at the lake shore opposite the Nakajima pier. From there, Mt. Yotei Ezo Fuji in spring is reflected in the lake, making it look like an upside-down Fuji. It was beautiful to see the white Mt. Yotei with the remaining snow shimmering on the surface of Lake Toya. I sat by the lake and didn't want to move for a while. I had a mysterious feeling that I wanted to live here with a tepee Indian tent laughs. A view that you can't see unless you come here at a certain time. It was awesome!

Lake Toya was formed more than 110,000 years ago when water accumulated in a hole blown away by a volcano, and the top of the volcano is Nakajima that protrudes from the lake. Lakes are the energy of water, and water represents emotions, so it works to purify the mind. Since there is a volcano in it, it is a power spot that has fire in the water. Fire also purifies. This has a behavioral effect. Lake Toya, especially Nakajima, is a place of fire and water, purification and power of mind and body. I think this Nakajima, which is one of the best three in Hokkaido, will be crossed by Lake Toya steamship. From now on, we will ride the Espoir, which looks like a fairytale castle. It departs *^_^* twice an hour of 00 minutes and 30 minutes. It is 1500 yen for adults. On the boat, seagulls come in droves. The seagull is a symbol of freedom Jonathan, so it's exciting. Although it is often mistaken for seagulls and sea cats. Both sea gulls and seagulls have yellow beaks, but sea gulls have red tips, and seagulls have pink legs, but sea gulls seem to have black legs. It was almost a seagull. The first thing you can see when you go over the lake is Benten Island and Kannon Island. These two islands are twin islands connected by a sandbar. Kannon Island is an island with a flat feeling. Here, "Nakajima Benzaiten" is enshrined. It has a reputation for increasing your fortune considerably. The triangle is Kannon Island. It is said that Enku carved a Buddha image on the island, and it is said that the "Guanyin Bodhisattva Statue" was enshrined on this island. Kannon-sama is kept at Usu Zenkoji Temple, and a replica of it is dedicated in the hall of the island. Usu Zenkoji Temple and Treasure Museum It is also a famous temple for cherry blossoms. You can see Showa Shinzan beyond the sandbank, so please pay attention. From Bentenjima, you can feel the vibration of the beautiful goddess and want to just look at it. You can't go ashore without chartering a boat, but I'd love to go there someday. There is a three-storied pagoda floating in the lake on the side, and it was also a really beautiful wave. It is said that the white dragon god, the guardian god of Lake Toya, is enshrined here. I felt like an old-fashioned goddess in a whitish costume, so maybe Benten-sama? I thought, but since it is a white dragon god, I am convinced. In addition to these two islands, Nakajima consists of four islands: Oshima, where pleasure boats land, and Manjujima, also known as Snake Island, which has many small snakes and cannot land. The steamer will land on Oshima. A lava dome formed by a volcanic eruption in the Toya Caldera about 50,000 years ago appeared on the surface of the water, and it has been confirmed that there are 11 volcanic bodies in the vicinity, including one at the bottom of the lake. The largest island, Oshima, has a circumference of 9.6 km, and the highest point, Tonoshi Kenupuri, is 455 m above sea level and is covered entirely by broad-leaved forest. from Wikipedia By the way, the reason why Nakajima has a peak mountain is because it erupted in the same place many times, which is rare. By the way, there are actually five islands, one of which is submerged in the lake and is said to be a mecca for diving. Standing on a sunken island even though it is a lake, it is as if you can feel as if you have been made from the lake. It's romantic. When you go to Oshima, there are shrines and coffee shops. You can enter through the gate and go around the island in about 3 hours. The great plains along the way are the best power spots. I'll introduce it in another post later.

Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce Taka's post "Shirahige Shrine in Shiga Prefecture". The torii gate with the sunset in the background, the vast lake and the sky are fantastic. Shirahige Shrine, located in Lake Biwa in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, Kansai region, has been recognized as a Japan heritage site as a constituent cultural property of "Lake Biwa and its Waterside Landscape - Water Heritage of Prayer and Living". With a history of more than 2,000 years since its foundation, it is the oldest shrine in Omi. The goddess of the shrine was Sarutahiko no Mikoto, and it is said that the origin of the company's name was that Sarutahiko had white hair and a white demon. The benefits of Shirahige Shrine are wide-ranging, such as life extension and longevity, good luck, and matchmaking, and are believed to be the god of guidance and paving. The "Konaka Otorii Gate" floating on the lake is a hot topic for taking photogenic photos. On Saturdays, Sundays, and the year-end and New Year holidays, it is lit up and you can enjoy a superb view with a different atmosphere from the daytime. We also recommend the "Nishiomi Seven Lucky God Tour" where you can enjoy the treasure seals red seals of the seven gods of fortune scattered throughout Takashima City on special colored paper. There are two types of red seals of Shirahige Shrine, and you can receive the red seal of the regular and the Nishiomi Seven Lucky Gods Tour "Jurojin". ◆Shirahige Shrine◆ 【Address】〒520-1122 Shiga Prefecture Takashima City Unogawa 215 【Access】 【Car】 ・From Kyoto and Osaka From Kyoto Higashi IC, take Kosai Road / National Route 161 north 40 km ・From Tokyo and Nagoya Take Maibara JC to Hokuriku Expressway, and from Kinomoto IC, take National Routes 8, 303, and 161 south, 45 km 【Train】 From Kyoto Station, take the JR Kosei Line - Get off at Omi-Takashima Station for about 40 minutes New Rapid About 3 kilometers from Omitakashima Station, 40 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by taxi --------------------- ★ The 14th COOL JAPAN VIDEOS Photo Contest is currently being held with the theme of "Superb Photography of the Japan"!
