This is so cool! I love how the trees are just welcoming you into the temple. I guess I should throw this on my list of places to visit in Oita. Still have to visit the hot springs over there too. I have some friends over in Beppu so maybe I can say hey to them while I'm in the area. I was reading an article about Futagoji Temple on here and it looked like a really nice place to go. I like the architecture of the temple too. It looks like Kunsaki has some traditional crafts that you can try out as well so that'd be an interesting experience. Hopefully I can head out there this summer or something!

This is the view from Mt. Hoshio in the Kuju Mountains in Oita Prefecture. You can climb from the Makinoto trailhead in about one and a half hours. Mt. Mimata can be seen in the center, and beautiful autumn leaves can be seen in autumn.
