Lake Chitose Shikotsu The Ice Festival is coming soon! The Chitose Lake Kotsu Ice Festival will be ?held on January 28~February 23, 2023 Shikotsu-Toya National Park, about 40 minutes by car from Sapporo. The ice sculptures lining the venue are created by spraying and freezing the water of Lake Shikotsu, one of the largest in Japan. Kids are popular with the ice slides, the skating rink where you can run with long boots, and the riding experience around the venue. During the Snow Festival, on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, about 300 fireworks will be fired from 6:30 p.m. to depict the night sky, as well as Japanese taiko drumming performances. A place loved as a famous place for cherry blossoms and many people think of "Imperial Palace Chidorigafuchi" "Chiyoda-ku Noryo no Night" is a traditional Japanese "lantern flow" that began 1958 (Showa 33) to heal the hearts of people who were devastated after the war. In recent years, it was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus, but 2022 (Reiwa 4) has been revived for the first time in three years. On a summer night in central Tokyo, the light of 2,000 lanterns filled with people's wishes and hopes, We have created a fantastic scenery shimmering on the surface of the moat. Many tourists and boat participants from Japan and abroad float in the "Beacon of Hope." Each one expresses the gratitude and wishes of the participants.

Approximately 2,600 cherry trees of 52 species are planted in Hirosaki Park, and it is a famous cherry blossom spot that is counted as one of the "three major cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan". There are many highlights, such as the Somei Yoshino cherry tree, the longest living cherry tree in Hirosaki Park that is over 140 years old, the illuminated night cherry blossoms, and the "flower raft" where cherry blossom petals fill the entire moat, and many people from inside and outside the prefecture visit the "Hirosaki Sakura Festival" held from late April to early May every year.
