Had a blast going to Sensoji Last year and had some really good ramen in the area as well. Would have loved to go this year as well, but probably better to not. Haven't gotten to ride a rickshaw at Sensoji yet but it definitely seems like a lot of fun. I rode one with my girlfriend when we went to Hirosaki Castle a few years ago and it was a blast. The rickshaw puller? was really cool and gave us a lot of facts about the castle and told some stories and we had a really great time. I never knew about the Kabuki thief characters that were in the area. I'll have to keep an eye out for them when I get the chance to visit Asakusa again in the future. I've also wondered how comfortable the tabi shoes are too, maybe I'll pick some up next time, they look really fashionable actually! The guy pulling the rickshaw in the video was really nice as well, really cool that they have tours in English for non Japanese speakers.

Seafood Mehico Asakusa - Looks sooo delicious! I'm a huge fan of everything this dish has; bread, cheese, and chicken. Also haven't had any Mexican food in a while so it'd be nice to try some again for a change. Last time I had it in Japan was at a small restaurant in the countryside. It's quite different than the Mexican food in America but just as delicious (probably more) and the portion sizes are much healthier ? I noticed it also seems like the ingredients are usually more... refreshing? It's hard to explain but it feels like the ingredients are of a higher quality overall. Maybe I can enjoy some for the holidays if I'm lucky!

・ ?Web store Hoshino (2nd time) SNS→Instagram( @cksb_hoshino )、Twitter。 Kiyoyu Soy Sauce Hoshino's mail order shop in Nagano Prefecture. This is the first order since the collaboration with Tsukesoba Shonen in Nagano Prefecture. I bought it at @baseec, who often uses it this time. < soba noodles 2 meal set (1900 yen, shipping not included)> The set includes 2 types of noodles, soup with menma, 2 types of char siu, and noodle salt. + Ingredients are kelp water (kelp + boiled and dried), trefoil ? I like the smooth type of kelp water more than mush, so I love Rausu kelp without using gagome or root kelp ?. For niboshi, choose Ibuki Iriko! Prepared by draining the water from the day before. The timing of boiling two types of noodles is difficult ? It's (^^) nice to be able to compare thin noodles and medium thick noodles. The umami of the chicken and the crisp soy sauce are also good! It has a good balance with fat. Menma, char siu, etc. are still the best ? ♂️ Thank you for the delicious feast ^ ^

Merry Christmas! In the spirit of the holidays I decided to check out this article on the Hibiya Illumination. Last year my girlfriend and I went to the Tokyo Station Illumination and it was absolutely beautiful! I would have liked to go to something like this this year, but with the current corona situation it's not exactly possible to do so. Japan and America are quite different when it comes to Christmas, but Japan is just as festive in many ways. I actually personally prefer the Japanese version as a dating holiday as opposed to the American version of getting together with family, as we do that for thanksgiving already and winter feels more romantic to me. I hadn't heard of the Hibiya Illumination before, which is no surprise really as there's so many amazing illuminations happening in Tokyo during Christmas, but the light up Christmas tree that you can walk inside looked really cool. Definitely going to make this my plan for next year! It's also a good chance to visit Roppongi as I don't get the chance to go there much lol. Anyways, merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Not a very long article but I love yakitori! It reminds me of when I was in Hakodate visiting my girlfriend (this was a long time ago) and we went to a yakitori shop. The lady that worked there was really awesome and we were able to talk with her and ended up having a really great time trying all different types of yakitori and having drinks. I definitely prefer yakitori cooked on a teppan and I don't remember if that's how they were cooked at that restaurant but either way it tasted great. We actually ended up going to a snack bar later that night and drinking a bunch with some older ladies and gentlemen and doing karaoke together lol! Was a total blast talking with the locals. One of the older ladies had a giant bottle of Shochu in her purse too and shared most of it with us. Hopefully I can visit Hakodate again soon. That burger restaurant (Lucky Pierrot I think it's called?) was really good too. Apparently it's only in Hakodate though sadly.

Wow, I really liked this video. Great music too! It seems like Nagiso has a ton of stuff to do. It felt like I was on a journey just watching it. I haven't heard of this place, maybe it's one of those hidden gems I guess, as I can't see how it wouldn't be super popular. I'd love to head out here during the summer and see the waterfalls in the area too. The part at 6:50 looks like it could even be a waterslide but I doubt you can swim here lol (I'll be reading more about this...). Also, WOW! Momosukebashi Bridge looks so cool! I'm not one of those guys to fawn over bridges but this bridge has some really cool architecture. It looks really awesome sitting over the bed of white rocks as well. The festivals look fun too. The Hanauma Festival with the horses carrying charms? on their backs looks interesting. Hopefully it doesn't scare them too much though. Maybe next summer or spring I can head out here to see the waterfalls or cherry blossoms! That, or maybe even the harvest moon!

?UNITED NOODLE Amenooto (1st time) SNS→ official website, Twitter, Facebook. <お店の情報> It is located in Sano City, which is famous for Sano ramen. However, it is completely different from Sano ramen. Both the exterior and the interior of the store are very stylish. There are also counter and table seats. There is a parking lot in front of the store, but there are different places to stop on weekdays and weekends and holidays. 10 cars (25-29, 35-38) on weekdays and 15 cars (25-38) on weekends and holidays. When there is a wait, there is a waiting board in the store, so fill it out. If you write down the license plate number of the car, they will come to call you. While waiting, I look at the menu and ask for my order first. <Point> (1) Stylish shop. Both the exterior and the inside of the store are very stylish like a café. I think it could be a date or something. (2) Carefully selected menu. The kombu water dipping noodles are very famous, but there is also ramen mixed soba noodles. I also do takeaways. (3) Family fun. The restaurant is large, so you can enjoy it even with small children. < kombu water soy sauce dipped soba (900 yen) and char siu (300 yen)> I wanted ? to try this kombu soba noodle Kombu water is made of gagome kelp, so it is a thickened type! The recommended way to eat it is to add algae salt first and eat only the noodles, so you can (^^) feel the deliciousness of the noodles. It has a good balance with the umami of the chicken and soy sauce, and there is a lot of oil. You can also add lemon to the soup and change the taste! Pork rare, boiled pork hanging char siu has an amazing ? flavor Thank you for the delicious feast ^ ^

I'd never heard about Nikko Edomura until I read this article. It's really cool that Japan has a theme park like this. I've studied a bit of Japanese history but it didn't cover courtesans very much, so the only knowledge I have about oiran basically comes from the t.v. show Jin (仁) lol. I never would have guessed that it would take at least three years to be able to even walk properly, that sounds harder than learning the footwork from when I was in a kendo club. Watching the video though, trying to walk in that pattern while wearing those giant clogs looks pretty difficult. I'm curious to know if the courtesan in the video was previously a courtesan or has trained for a long time to be able to perform the role. If anyone knows, be sure to tell me! The place looks really fun to go for a date though, so maybe I'll check it out if I get the chance to go to Tochigi. Probably next summer or spring because it's getting way too cold for me lol!

This shop is very famous in the area where you like to boil and dry. There is a parking lot for about 30 cars, and there are front, side, and back of the store. The style is to buy a meal ticket first and line up. Up to 4 people in front of the store, but not in line behind the vending machine? I will line up in the direction of. Souvenirs can also be purchased. There is only a counter in the store. <Point> (1) Boiled and dried love. A restaurant that loved niboshi and was loved for niboshi. This shop is for those who like to boil and dry. (2) Popular queue shops. I visited during the day on a Sunday, so there was a decent line. It's good to have plenty of time. (3) Menu. Basically, there is only boiled dried ramen. There are various ways to use niboshi. There is no large serving, so if it is not enough, toppings, seasoning balls, and replacement balls are used. The limitations change depending on the day. < boiled dried ramen (Yabanibo soy sauce) (980 yen) Niboshi ai (50 yen) > There was a menu that I had never eaten before, but I wanted to eat this ✨ one Yabanibo soy sauce ? that I ate about 5 times at home By the way, I tried topping it with boiled dried love (boiled dried paste)! Oh, this is what happened ? But after all, it is definitely better to eat at the store than at home! The amount of boiled patsun noodles and the strong boiled dried soup are unbearable ?. The satisfying char siu will also be delicious! If you eat it while dissolving the dried paste, the nigaegu will ? ♂️ increase. Thank you for the delicious feast ^ ^

・ ? Homemade noodle kuromatsu (1st time) SNS→Twitter。 <お店の情報> This is the big favorite of the tour. He is trained at Kazuya in Tokyo. There is a line, so it is recommended to go early. There is no parking lot, so go to a nearby coin-operated parking lot. There is a park nearby, so I think that is a good place to use the toilet. Since it has been closed at night since November 1, 2019, the hurdles are quite high. Drink alcohol when entering the store and sit down with water by yourself. <Point> (1) Carefully selected menu. Chinese soba is made with white soy sauce and soy sauce. There are also dipped noodles with white soy sauce. The side menu includes toppings, rice, and alcoholic beverages. (2) Japan-ness. The prefectural tree of Gunma Prefecture is black pine. You can feel the love of Gunma Prefecture. The exterior, interior of the store, and BGM also have a Japan-like feel. (3) Popular stores in the queue. I arrived two hours before Sunday but there was no one. When it opened, there was a large line of about 40 people. < (pine) special grade Chinese soba (980 yen)> For Chinese soba noodles, you can choose white soy sauce or soy sauce! It is a shochiku plum, plum is kakesoba noodles, bamboo is normal, pine is all blamed ✨. It just looks beautiful. Depending on the week, it is ? thin noodles or flat noodles. When I visited, it was thin noodles! The owner is dressed like a craftsman, and he is serious when he is ? making it. I was doing the char siu in a low-temperature cooker like I had at home! The noodles are already beautiful when you scoop them with chopsticks. I can't ? do this at home. The soup is quite light, but the flavor of the chicken and seafood is amazing ? ♂️. I get (^^) so sick that I want to drink it all the time. The homemade thin noodles go well with the soup again, and the moderate boiling is too ? delicious. Both low-temperature cooked char siu are irresistible! In particular, the chicken char siu has moderate elasticity, a flavor that fills your mouth, and the umami is too great ?. The wontons were meaty, and I was glad that they were covered with shiso. Also, it was ? ♂️ the first time I had eaten a flavored ball soaked in alcohol. Thank you for the delicious feast ^ ^

What a great read! The ruins of these castles are amazing. Just looking at them I can feel the history and historical importance of each location. I liked the bit about Lady Otsuya as well. I love that you can go almost anywhere in Japan and there's hundreds or even thousands of years worth of history to be discovered. I don't think it's a stretch to say that perhaps the ruins are more interesting than the castles themselves, albeit not quite as beautiful lol. Although the nature surrounding these ruins is also a thing of beauty. It's easy to understand why these places are considered the treasures of Gifu!

Another thing that's so amazing about Japan. The nature here is just incredible. Back where I'm from, there's no way you'd find a place that's just nestled amongst the trees like this. On top of that, the rustic feel just completely removes you from the every day city life. What's even more amazing about this is that it's not like this is something that's uncommon and can only be found in a select few places. Gorgeous places like this can be found all over Japan, and they all have something unique about them. It's like everywhere you look there's something beautiful to be found. That food looks amazing too! lol

As someone who's lived in Japan for a while I've come to realize how much I really love the country and feel as though it's my duty to help communicate what makes it such a beautiful place to live. Which is why starting today I'm going to try to do just that. I'll try to share information through the lens of a foreigner living in Japan, so that others in a similar situation can hopefully use that information, whether it be to learn about all of the beautiful things Japan has to offer, or even just for sightseeing/travel purposes. I realize I've only just started here so probably not very many people are seeing this, but even still I'll try and do my best so that others can see the beauty that I see when I look at Japan.
